“Minnesotans deserve a Washington that is effective and
accountable to them. My office is ready to assist you whenever
we can be of service, especially, if government red tape
stands in your way. Please see the success stories below for
examples of how we can help.”
3 Holding the VA Accountable
A constituent was facing a $15,000 hospital
bill for services that should have been paid by
the Department of Veterans Affairs. My office
contacted the VA, and they covered the bill.
3 Protecting Minnesota’s 10,000 Lakes
When invasive zebra mussels were discovered
in Christmas Lake last fall, I asked the EPA for
an emergency exemption for a new treatment.
The lake was treated, the zebra mussels are
gone, and families will be able to enjoy
Christmas Lake for years to come.
3 Bringing Families Together in Times of Need
When a young U.S. Army soldier was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor, we
helped his family make arrangements for his surgery to take place home in Minnesota
instead of where he was stationed.
3 Fixing Government Mistakes
The Department of Veterans Affairs made an error on a young veteran’s discharge
forms, which prevented him from becoming a Minnesota State Trooper. My office
worked with the Department to fix the mistake.

LEGISLATIVE
UPDATE
Congressman Erik Paulsen is
working to make Washington
more accountable to you:
• Supported bipartisan legislation
to strengthen and secure
Medicare with a plan that
provides stability, rewards
quality, and is efficient for
doctors and patients.
• Led efforts in Congress to
enact solutions that will help
stop child sex trafficking in our
communities.
• Cosponsored legislation to
strengthen, expand, and
modernize 529 college savings
plans. With the price of higher
education rising at an alarming
pace, we need to make sure
that parents have a resource to
help their child pursue a degree
without being buried under
mountains of debt.
