Used in the early beginnings as a means to conduct research and check emails,

12. The Internet is now used for more than just a way to send and receive communications or conduct research. Over the years the Internet and consumer’s use
of the Internet has evolved into a giant network of people and ‘things’ connected online. This includes, but is not limited to wearable devices, home
appliances, ATM’s and even components of large machinery.
It is clear that with Broadband Internet becoming cheaper and more readily available, an increase in WiFi compatible devices and smartphone ownership
skyrocketing, that the future of the Internet lands with ‘IoT’ and it is here to stay.
