2. There is plenty of information
online because that is what the
Internet is used for - to provide
information.
If you have an Internet marketing
business or you are trying to build
your own business it is very easy to
get information overload.
3. There is so much information available
for free that it can be tempting to
download as much as possible so that
you can learn as much as possible very
quickly.
However, I believe that a lot of the
information never gets read.
It's the same with information products.
4. Often people purchase something
but never get round to listening or
reading the whole of what they
have purchased.
Why is this?
5. I think there is something inside all
of us that thinks if we can get
something for free then we must
get it.
We don't want to miss out on
something.
But if we don't actually need that
information is it helpful?
6. Perhaps you need some specific help
with something and therefore you
purchase a product.
For the first few days you are keen and
go through the training but then while
you are online you get distracted and
a shiny object comes up in front of you
and you don't want to miss out on it so
you purchase that product or
download that product.
7. It is often a cycle that beginners
especially fall into.
I think one of the best pieces of
advice I was given was that if you
purchase something go through
all of it, try it for at least three
months before deciding it isn't
going to work for you and then
trying something else.
8. We seem to believe that there will
be a quick way of making money
online and therefore if something
doesn't happen quickly we give
up.
9. It is that mentality that creates the
cycle of information overload and
buying products that, if you
thought about it, you didn't
actually need.
10. If you are focused on building your
own business, promoting your own
products, so that everything you
do online is focused on moving
your business forward, you will find
that you naturally get rid of the
information overload scenario.
11. When you are focused on your own
business and getting things done you
are not so easily distracted in thinking
that you need something or you need
to download something because it is
free.
12. There will always come a point in
your business whereby you need
to learn something or you need to
increase your knowledge about
something and it is at that point
that you should look for something
that is going to help.
13. Make sure that you read or listen
to the whole of that bit of
information and implement it
rather than searching for more
and more information on a
particular topic and then ending
up with information overload
again.
