With some gadgets, you may need to adjust the settings to make it relate to you or make it to your liking. In this guide, I will give you the example of adjusting the setting of your weather gadget to make it show the weather forecast in your area.
Locate the settings option. Depending on your gadget, it will be in the top bar’s drop-down list, or it will be inside the gadget’s window. In this example, I will be using the WeatherBug Gadget that I showed you how to add to your homepage in the previous tutorial. Across from the WeatherBug logo, you see the “Settings.” If you click on the word settings, it will take you to just this one gadget showing on your page, none of the others, and you will be able to edit your preferences.
Click the Settings option. The gadget will take you to the settings menu.
Click the “+ Add Location” button. You will see the gadget change again and a search bar appear, with text above it saying to enter a Zip Code if you’re in the US or enter a City name for anywhere in the world.
Enter your location, either by Zip Code or City, and click “Search”. I entered a zip code of another area’s weather I’d like to see: 85901. Afterwards, subtle results show up right below that search bar.
Click on your desired location from the result(s) that appear. You will now see your new location and the previous one.
Click the “Edit Locations” link you see next to the two location tabs at the top. You can change it, or delete.
This gadget came with a set location that you can delete or change, and I have now shown you how. With gadgets like this, you may have more than one forecast, and it is even separated instead of side by side. Feel free to add a location to see what the weather is like in a favorite city you’d like to visit, or where your friends are. All you have to do is follow these instructions to change those settings. As you see, there are several preferences throughout the gadget (how many days you want the forecast to show, the location, units of measurement in Celsius or Fahrenheit) that you can change to your liking. It’s all about personalization.
