2. HEAT Transfer & Objective
 A form of energy associated with the motion of atoms or molecules.
 Transferred from higher temperature objects to objects at a lower
temperature.
 Objective..
 Purification of pharmaceutical products is made possible by this process.
When heat is applied to a saturated solution of a substance, the solution
becomes supersaturated, causing the substance to crystallize.
 Pharmaceutical manufacturing requires specialist heat transfer fluids for
precise temperature control across cooling and heating phases.
Therminol® heat transfer fluids provide the necessary characteristics in a
single fluid compared to dual systems such as steam/brine or steam/
glycol.

 HEAT TRANSFER Classification of heat flow process When two objects at
different temperatures are brought into thermal contact, heat flows from the
object at higher temperature to the object at lower temperature. The
mechanisms by which the heat may flow are (i) conduction, (ii) convection
and (iii) radiation.
