 Teacher of record of six to thirteen students annually that have moderate to severe disabilities.
Caseload has included students with significant behavior challenges; non-verbal students;
students with autism spectrum disorder and students with multiple disabilities.
 Develop and implement educational programs that evolve to best meet the needs of a diverse
group of learners. Curriculum includes academic, life skills, social skills and language instruction.
 Skilled in selecting and adapting appropriate teaching materials and designing the learning
environment to best meet the educational, behavioral and sensory needs of students.
 Supervise two to four special education assistants and develop staff schedules to meet students’
needs and IEP requirements including their individual therapy schedules.
 Collaborate with parents and staff to best meet students’ needs and goals. Staff includes
administration, general education teachers,assistants,physical therapists, occupational therapists,
behavior coaches and speech and language therapists.
 Proficient with the IIEP program, functional behavioral assessments and developing positive
behavior intervention plans. Use Structured Teaching techniques as the basis for classroom
structure and management.
 Featured in a video produced by Center Grove School system in which I shared how I used my
iPad professionally and how my students used their iPads in my classroom. This video was shared
within our school system and with other school systems.
 Dedicated to problem-solving in a proactive and a creative manner and employ diverse
techniques to meet student needs including sensory integration activities and individualized
behavior plans.
 Lead a monthly staff meeting to review and practice Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques to
help ensure safety and wellbeing for both students and staff.
