2. Introduction
These Forest are found in Sub-polar
and Polar belt.
In north, between 50ºN to 70ºN.
Found in the northern regions of
Canada & Eurasia.
Also known as Boreal forest.
10. Main Points
Large areas of Forest may be dominated
by a single species.
The trees here are mostly softwood
evergreen trees with sharp and narrow
needle-like leaves.
When it snows heavily, the conical leaves
allows the snow to glide down easily.
The trees here are light and easy to cut.
Therefore, lumbering is practiced on a
large scale in these forest.
