The Royal Television Society is an educational charity who encourage and celebrate work in
television and its related fields. They offer television production and technology bursaries to help
those from less affluent backgrounds to get a foothold in the industry
During this seminar I learnt that not everything about the television industry is glamorous and
that whilst there may be upsides to the industry there are also downsides. I learnt that if I were to
go into the industry that I would have to expect the best and worst. The guest speakers in this
seminar told ‘horror stories’ of their time in the industry, but they also gave stories of good things
that had happened. I learnt that there are many ways to get into the film and television industry.
