ONE STEP BEYOND, THEATER WORKS BRINGING ALADDIN’S MAGIC TO PEORIA
Peoria, AZ (May 15, 2015) – One Step Beyond and Theater Works
will bring the magic and music of Aladdin to the Peoria Performing Arts Center
on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13.
This educational arts collaboration allows One Step Beyond members to learn
theater arts from professionals. The preparation, and the performances
themselves, offers a proven way to enhance quality of life for those facing
challenges in the area of physical, emotional and social development. Proceeds
from event at the Performing Arts Center, 8355 West Peoria Avenue, will
benefit the One Step Beyond Performing Arts program.
The performances allow everyone, including the audience, to participate in an
experience that promotes acceptance, respect,
and appreciation for the talents and contributions that One Step
adults provide to their community. Whether the challenges
involve affordability, physical barriers, or societal stigmas, access
to inclusive cultural arts programs continues to be an under-
served need. As the only inclusive theater program in the West
Valley, One Step Beyond is dedicated to filling this need.
These performances of Aladdin will include a two-part presentation on two different nights, with a
VIP Reception on opening night (Friday, June 12th) that includes Hor d’oeuvres prepared by the
OSB Culinary Program. For those 21 and over, there will be a beer and wine bar, and there will also
be a raffle auction for various items.
Tickets for Aladdin can be purchased at www.osbi.org/aladdin. Shows will start at 7 P.M., with the
doors opening at 6 PM. General admission tickets for both nights are $10. Tickets for the VIP
reception at 5:30 PM on Friday, June 12th, are $25. For any additional questions please contact

One Step Beyond (www.osbi.org) is a local, non-profit whose mission is to provide responsive,
progressive, and dynamic programs to empower individuals with intellectual disability to realize
their goals of optimal independence, meaningful employment,
significant social relationships, and full participation in our
community. Since opening its doors in 2003, One Step Beyond has
grown from serving 16 young adults with intellectual disabilities to
assisting more than 225 Northwest Valley adults at campuses in Peoria
and Surprise. It provides programs in the areas of life skills
development, employment training, placement and support, and
recreation activities that include sports training and competition,
performing and fine arts, and community social events.
