4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity

WHICH IS WHICH?
Identify the cause and effect in the situation below.
The teacher is holding a balloon filled with air inside it. The balloon pops
when the teacher injected a needle in it.
4.2 Activity
10 minutes
GUESS WHAT! Several pictures will be placed on the board. These pictures
indicate causes. Now, what you are going to do is to supply the effects of a
particular picture.
Content of the Pictures:
Picture 1. Smoking Cigarettes
Picture 2. Pollutions
Picture 3. Heavy Rainfalls
Picture 4. Using Prohibited Drugs
Picture 5. Avoid Brushing Teeth
Picture 6. Eating too much candies

The pictures simply stimulate the learners on how to construct/formulate effects of a
certain cause. In this sense, they will recognize the relationship between cause and
effect or in other words, the actions and reactions.
4.4 Abstraction
10 minutes
Discuss the concept of Cause and effect relationship.
A cause-effect relationship is a relationship in which one event (the cause) makes
another event happen (the effect). Moreover, one cause can have several effects.
More precisely, it is a relationship between actions and reactions. Wherein, the
cause (action) explains why something happens while the effect (reaction)
describes what happens.
4.5 Application

Apply the learned concepts through actual demonstration.
FORM A DIAD: Present a brief presentation with the concept of Cause and Effect
Relationship. Feel free to choose your presentation as long as it is still in the
context.
