Advances in communication systems and dissemination worldwide are facilitating
interconnection between people and institutions around the world and reducing or
eliminating the barriers of distance and time.
The Internet revolution and its continuous evolution are representing a radical change in the
way of understanding social relations, to expand the social framework and allow access to
information, people and ideas of the most varied nature.
Internet is a decentralized global computer network that allows many computers connected
together via a number of communication protocols, via copper wires, fiber optic cables,
wireless connections and other means.
This global network of computers provides a number of different services:
● Navigation Web ​(WWW, World Wide Web), a system or linked documents that can
be viewed through a browser files.
● Mail​(e-mail),which allows sending messages between users.
● Newsgroups​(news),forums, instant messaging (chat), etc., which are spaces for
discussion and exchange of experiences.
● T​ransferring files ​quickly via ​FTP ​(file transfer protocol) and ​file sharing onl​P2P
networks ALLING ​(peer to peer).
● Voice communication through ​Voice over IP (VoIP) or ​video conferencing
(Skype).
● Radio, television and newspapers.
● Other ​purchases of all types, access to bank accounts, making distance learning
courses, job search, enrollment in colleges and universities, etc.
