About Me
 My name is Chu Judy Zhuang. I am a Junior at University of
Washington, double degree in Economics and Mathematics.
 I have a strong passion for public services and my philosophy
as a leader is to serve and give back to the community.
 I see myself as a Community Engineer. Community is a huge
part of my personal growth and it place great importance to me.
My leadership experiences have all evolved around the center
of community- dedication in cultural interaction programs
within international non-profit organization, active involvement
in educational projects through pipeline etc.
+
Community Engineer
 I grew up in a bilingual family, and I personally have
experienced the process from unfamiliarity to familiarity living in
different countries and culture. I received abundance love and
support from the community and that is how I was motivated to
give back the love.
 I enjoy the presence of people and the sense of belonging in a
global community. The greatest pleasure for me when engaging
with people was I get to share my own story and hear others.
This strengthen the bond I have with others and build up a
community.
+
Empowering Coach
 My mentoring experience with elementary school children at
Bryant elementary school was a profound experience.
 It really provided me the opportunity to be an empowering coach
and fostering self-growth. My weekly conversations with my
mentee was engaged and fun. We built a strong and productive
relationship as I gave both constructive criticism and positive
feedback to my mentee. I was able to show my vulnerability and
share personal stories , like the time when I had set backs and
how I overcome it , to my mentee and help him open up and stay
positive. I created a culturally environment that my mentee would
feel confortable with I have the determination and tenacity for
empowerment to change. We not only successfully aced the final
science project, but also more importantly, I changed his attitude
toward having a mentor. I was very grateful to have a positive
impact in his life.
+
Empowering Coach
 This experience shaped me as a leader who has the
overarching motivation to help others. It was an rewarding
experience because I get to be part of his life and share the joy
and accomplishments along side him. I am part of a
educational community that embraces persistent motivation
and fosters tremendous personal growth.
+
Leadership Philosophy
 “Leader” – promotes potential
personal growth.
 “Ship” – emphasizes
connections bonding with
others and sense of community.
 The essence of leadership is
helping others. A leader should
always stay humble and have
an open heart to serve as a
“public servant”.
+
Leadership Philosophy
 Leadership provides an
opportunity to support equity
and global interactions. It
creates community that allows
dialogue to flow without
language barriers.
 My leadership principles are
integrity, persistence, tenacity
and a committed heart
 We are all Leaders!
 Leadership is no longer a piece
of paper , it no longer needs
hierarchy to define its meaning.
 Leadership is all about serving
others, creating open doors for
people to show vulnerability
and inner strength.
 Leadership is about creating a
better self and ultimately a well-
formed society.
+
The Next Step ……
 Commit to public service and utilize my knowledge in academia
to do good deeds for the community
 My future goal is to be involved in public policy and healthcare
institutions. I plan to continue on guiding myself to serve others
through research and endeavor to make changes.
 My biggest hope is for people living in poverty and low income
spectrum to get accessible public and private service,
especially education. And find happiness of their own!
