Twenty-two years of experience in health education: twelve years directing Community Wellness
Program in Medical Center; ten years as a clinical exercise physiologist in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Program Development and Management
Oversee the strategic planning and daily operations of the Community Wellness Program
Coordinate and evaluate the Medical Center’s New York State Prevention Agenda initiatives
Developed and directed new Cardiac Rehabilitation Program for Rome Memorial Hospital,
wrote policies and procedures, and created patient chart forms
Trained and supervised Cardiac Rehab nurses and exercise physiologists
Achieved Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Certification status and national recognition from the
American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Community and Patient Health Education/Wellness
Coordinate and deliver evidence-based programs addressing falls prevention, chronic disease
self-management and diabetes prevention
Initiated the Ask Me 3 Health Literacy campaign at Alice Hyde Medical Center
Extensive public speaking for civic organizations, school and community events on falls
prevention, promoting physical activity, weight loss for wellness, reducing cardiac risk factors,
stress management, preventing diabetes, women and heart disease
Co-hosted monthly radio show and wrote/recorded Public Service Announcements

Streets Partnership, Disease Management Committee/North Country Healthcare Providers
Secured $100,000 in mini-grants to develop educational programs across the lifespan,
addressing active lifestyles, falls prevention, healthy eating, and diabetes prevention
Organize events and screenings for community and worksites to celebrate national health
observances
Spearheaded community events in partnership with local agencies to celebrate National Family
Health & Fitness Day (2009) and YMCA Healthy Kids Day (2010)
