Built with People in Mind
The Clover, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, is a new
purpose designed facility.
A calming, therapeutic environment with modern décor and a relaxing
atmosphere. It has recovery and therapeutic engagement at the heart
of its design.
We welcome referrals from all Mental Health Care providers
and commissioners.
Why refer your patient to us?
• Clover provides 10 ensuite bedrooms in gender specific male
and female areas promoting privacy and dignity.
• There are separate dining and living areas for male and female
service users.
• We have a range of modern facilities including outdoor garden
and seating area, an activity room with pc access, a family
visiting room, access to sports and recreation.
3. Supporting families and carers
We recognise the emotional impact an in-patient stay can have
on a person’s carers and family. That is why we will always try to
involve immediate carers in all aspects of that person’s care (if the
person receiving care says we can).
We want the experience of families and carers to be as positive as possible.
Clover has access to dedicated visiting areas and will aim to support, as much as
is possible, a flexible approach for those visiting from outside the local area. Staff
will explain how Clover works including visiting times and information on how to
book visits.
High Quality
Care
During admission
service users and carers
are involved in every
stage of their care
planning and benefit
from individually
tailored packages of
care. This includes
one to one time with
our clinical team
and involvement in
wider team meetings
about their care.
Every individual on the ward
has a named nurse and
named healthcare support
worker who works with
them to identify their needs
and interests and establish
a programme of meaningful
activity to complement
care and treatment.
We believe that having
a structured meaningful
day including therapeutic
activities is an important
aspect of treatment and
recovery. Our clinical staff
are trained in a number of
approaches and interventions
to provide both individual
and group therapies which
are tailored to individual
needs and may include:
• Behavioural approaches
and assessments
• Cognitive approaches
and outcome measures
• Psychological therapies
• Occupational therapy and
creative therapies such
as art therapy.
