I graduated from the University of Ulster in 1992 and worked as physiotherapist in a number of acute hospitals and community trusts in Belfast; specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. In 1999 I took up a post as a physiotherapy lecturer / practitioner with the University of Ulster and the Royal Belfast Hospitals Trust. In 2003 I was appointed as a full time lecturer in physiotherapy. I was awarded my PhD in 2007, (‘Fibromyalgia Syndrome: Physiotherapy Management’) and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2013.
