Sunday breakfast set
Product and concept designer Jorien Kuipers, from Eindhoven, the Netherlands,
designed a new and innovative packaging to give a new vision for the packaging
industry made from pressed paper.
All inspired by the Dutch tradition of sharing a long breakfast together on a
Sunday morning. Jorien Kuipers cherishes this special moment on the only real
day off that is left. Aptly called Sunday Morning, this breakfast set will add some
lustre to the tradition. The elegant objects form a special packaging for sandwich
toppings – from chocolate sprinkles to jams and cheeses. The material, a coated
paper pulp, refers to the box that holds the traditional Sunday breakfast egg. The
shape of the collection is based on the still lifes by the Italian painter Morandi. They
are small and delicate novelty utensils that complete your breakfast ritual. They will
look fine with your porcelain but can as easily be an eye-catcher on your table.
