10. The magnetic field creates a
circuit and passes through the
magnet, hub, and armature.
11. The magnetic field deflects
the flat spring and pulls the
armature across a small airgap
12. The friction lining in the hub and
the armature create a friction
connection and the secondary
shaft rotates with the primary.
13. When power is released from the
magnet, the flat spring pulls the
armature back.
Without the friction connection
the primary and secondary
shafts are disconnected.
