Bridging the Gap recognizes the importance of providing synergistic services to clients by
building capacity and developing effective, integrated human capital and business strategies.
Two decades ago we were among the first to recognise South Africa’s need for the
development of human capital. Today as a Level 1 Contributor according to the BBBEE
Codes, we continue to lead the way spearheaded by our highly experienced executives. We
are 100% Black Owned with a shareholding of 40% held by female youth.
Projects executed have been across a range of industry sectors in private sector, government

For all our services, BTG delivers comprehensive solutions that provide the client with value add in
the various four stages of organisational effectiveness, as articulated in the diagram above. These
solutions can be administered as a suite particularly for organisation transformation or as stand a
lone solutions to address specific requirements an areas of challenge.
Diagnosis – BTG utilises a variety of methodologies and approaches in order to assess current
and prevailing trends in an organisation, be it with regard to the strategy, people, customers,
finances, processes, performance or Leadership. The diagnosis is meant to paint an objective
picture of the current situation as it is. This is particularly important in order to inform appropriate
solutions to address what ever issues that the situation analysis yields.
Detailed Planning – This involves the development and agreement of detailed designs and
approaches to deliver the desired future state and final implementation plans. Appropriate specific
solutions are put in place in preparation for full-blown implementation. In some instances, where
appropriate, this stage may involve piloting of solutions for purposes of customisation prior to a full
scale implementation.
Implementation – BTG typically adopts a partnership approach to implementation in order to
ensure client ownership of the project, processes and results. Whilst our experts lead the
implementation of bespoke solutions, BTG’s keen interest in skills transfer propels us to ensure that
the client is involved at all stages
Monitoring and Evaluation – BTG utilises a variety of techniques and tools in order to provide
continuous feedback to the organisation. Our monitoring & evaluation methodologies speak to all
areas of the organisation are meant to add value to decision making, learning and improvement
initiatives within the organisation.
Consulting Services
The aim of our consulting services is to support and lead
interventions that directly enhance organisational and individual
performance. This is achieved by working in collaboration with
managers and institutional leaders and applying expert knowledge
and experience of management consultancy, leadership
development, executive coaching, employee engagement, and
performance management to initiate and deliver key interventions
that add clear value.

BTG’s Diagnosis tools and techniques include but are not limited to the following;
Organisation diagnosis based on the 3PL Model, using
structured web-based questionnaires. BTG utilises this
diagnostic framework which focuses on the four strategic
pillars that must be in place to ensure effective functioning
of the organisation, these are the Purpose, the People,
the Processes, the Leadership (refer to diagram below).
Organisation/Business Excellence Baseline determination
using the EFQM Model, which emphasises that
organisations get the results they do not by accident. The
model assesses the level of excellence in 9 key areas of
the organisation these being Leadership, Policy &
Strategy, People, Partnerships & Resources, Processes,
People Results, Customer Results, Society Results and
Key Performance Results. It is comparable to the Malcolm
Baldgride Model used in the USA.
Interviews and Focus groups – structured interviews with
Executives and Boards as well as focus groups with other
team members.

which can be customised using our 21 dimensions which

BTG is a able to International Institute for Creative
Leadership). The “Situation” describes where specific
leadership behavior(s) occurred (observed feedback
through 360 degree interview assessments or in group
settings during group coaching). “Behaviour” helps the
individual understand exactly the behavior the coach is
talking about as fed back in direct behavior observation
from the coach that is reflected back to the coachee. The
“Impact” of the observed behavior on the coach and/or
others is shared with the coachee. Impact is what was
experienced by making the internal experience of the
coachees' behavior know on others. Impact statements
are about the speaker, and not the person. SBI feedback
from coaches and others are given from the first person.

Leadership Development - A typical
programme plan for leadership development
and optimisation of management generally
would focus on the senior and management
levels initially. The aim of the intervention is to
yield is a cadre of managers from the highest to
middle level, who are not afraid of change, who
embrace the challenges of being a leader and
who are able to support, advise and motivate
their staff and one another .
BTG has a leadership development ‘course’ or
process which involves four days of off- site
training and eight weeks of ‘back on the job’
integration and implementation, followed by a
catch up and report back day. This course can
be delivered ‘as-is’, or can be customised to
address additional client specific issues.
The course is designed to enable leadership to
gain insights into their own motivations, triggers
and habits, and to emerge much more aware
and focused about their own purpose. Ideally,
participants become aware, thoughtful and
purposeful leaders and managers who are
better at enabling and supporting their staff,
and who are fearless team leaders.

competitiveness and appeal in the market. It is a two year intensive capacity building process
that covers the key aspects of Enterprise Development, building wealth and sustainable
businesses The BTG enterprise development program can be summed up as follows;
Why Enterprise Development?
According to the SMME Development and Support Plan, South Africa is faced with
economic challenges. Key among these are issues of unemployment, poverty, minimal
household income and economic growth. Small businesses have a critical role to play in
both the growing of the economy and employment creation, improving household income
as well as poverty eradicating.
The BTG enterprise development program dubbed “In-Q-Bata” is a vehicle designed to
foster Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to help them grow, by providing a skills
development, capacity building and a host of other services which they would not be able
to access on their own.
We believe the solutions towards getting South Africa to turn various policies and plans
into achievable transformation goals are effective enterprise development programs.
The Small Micro-Medium Enterprise Development Solution is informed by a two-pronged
approach which entails extensive technical training in key development areas of
business management supported by a comprehensive coaching and mentoring
support program. The business is about building the crucial 3C’s of a business person:
Confidence, Competency and Capacity to independently run an efficient business that
can effectively partner and bid for business.

About Us Bridging the Gap recognizes the importance of providing synergistic services to clients by building capacity and developing effective, integrated human capital and business strategies. Two decades ago we were among the first to recognise South Africa’s need for the development of human capital. Today as a Level 1 Contributor according to the BBBEE Codes, we continue to lead the way spearheaded by our highly experienced executives. We are 100% Black Owned with a shareholding of 40% held by female youth. BTG End – To End Approach Diagnosis Planning Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation For all our services, BTG delivers comprehensive solutions that provide the client with value add in the various four stages of organisational effectiveness, as articulated in the diagram above. These solutions can be administered as a suite particularly for organisation transformation or as stand a lone solutions to address specific requirements an areas of challenge. Diagnosis – BTG utilises a variety of methodologies and approaches in order to assess current and prevailing trends in an organisation, be it with regard to the strategy, people, customers, finances, processes, performance or Leadership. The diagnosis is meant to paint an objective picture of the current situation as it is. This is particularly important in order to inform appropriate solutions to address what ever issues that the situation analysis yields. Detailed Planning – This involves the development and agreement of detailed designs and approaches to deliver the desired future state and final implementation plans. Appropriate specific solutions are put in place in preparation for full-blown implementation. In some instances, where appropriate, this stage may involve piloting of solutions for purposes of customisation prior to a full scale implementation. Implementation – BTG typically adopts a partnership approach to implementation in order to ensure client ownership of the project, processes and results. Whilst our experts lead the implementation of bespoke solutions, BTG’s keen interest in skills transfer propels us to ensure that the client is involved at all stages Monitoring and Evaluation – BTG utilises a variety of techniques and tools in order to provide continuous feedback to the organisation. Our monitoring & evaluation methodologies speak to all areas of the organisation are meant to add value to decision making, learning and improvement initiatives within the organisation.
  • 7. Consulting Services The aim of our consulting services is to support and lead interventions that directly enhance organisational and individual performance. This is achieved by working in collaboration with managers and institutional leaders and applying expert knowledge and experience of management consultancy, leadership development, executive coaching, employee engagement, and performance management to initiate and deliver key interventions that add clear value.

Diagnosis Planning Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation BTG’s Diagnosis tools and techniques include but are not limited to the following; Organisation diagnosis based on the 3PL Model, using structured web-based questionnaires. BTG utilises this diagnostic framework which focuses on the four strategic pillars that must be in place to ensure effective functioning of the organisation, these are the Purpose, the People, the Processes, the Leadership (refer to diagram below). Organisation/Business Excellence Baseline determination using the EFQM Model, which emphasises that organisations get the results they do not by accident. The model assesses the level of excellence in 9 key areas of the organisation these being Leadership, Policy & Strategy, People, Partnerships & Resources, Processes, People Results, Customer Results, Society Results and Key Performance Results. It is comparable to the Malcolm Baldgride Model used in the USA. Interviews and Focus groups – structured interviews with Executives and Boards as well as focus groups with other team members. BTG Human Capital Services & Techniques Diagnosis Planning Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation Leadership Development - A typical programme plan for leadership development and optimisation of management generally would focus on the senior and management levels initially. The aim of the intervention is to yield is a cadre of managers from the highest to middle level, who are not afraid of change, who embrace the challenges of being a leader and who are able to support, advise and motivate their staff and one another . BTG has a leadership development ‘course’ or process which involves four days of off- site training and eight weeks of ‘back on the job’ integration and implementation, followed by a catch up and report back day. This course can be delivered ‘as-is’, or can be customised to address additional client specific issues. The course is designed to enable leadership to gain insights into their own motivations, triggers and habits, and to emerge much more aware and focused about their own purpose.
