Types of apps
   ‘APP’ is an abbreviation for software and design ‘applications’ on mobiles

   Main OS are as below :
   Android operating system
   Android is the second most popular smartphone platform. This operating system runs on several smartphones, particularly the Google
   Nexus. The Open Handset Alliance, which is made up of over 50 software and hardware manufacturers. The Open Handset Alliance is
   made up of Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG, Vodafone Group, Nvidia, Motorola, Intel, Google, Toshiba, HTC, and many more. Google
   Android is powered by the Linux Kernel.

   iPhone OS
   iPhone OS, manufactured by Apple Inc., is the mobile phone version of Mac OSX. One unique feature that makes iPhone OS stand out is
   that all the interaction with the phone can be conducted through the touch screen.

   Blackberry
   Blackberry is no doubt the most popular Smartphone of the corporate world. Like some other mobile OS's, it has popular features that
   include a built-in keyboard and a thumbwheel control that is easy to use. It can synchronize well with your PC.

   Windows Phone 8 series
   Windows Mobile is dead but WP8 is widely available. It has almost everything you can ever ask for in a smartphone and touch screens

   Symbian
   Nokia acquired Symbian Software Limited in 2008. Devices running on Symbian OS make up the largest percentage of smartphones
   sales worldwide. But Nokia is moving over to Windows 8.

   Palm
   The palm OS is a mobile operating system that was designed by Palm, Inc., in 1996. It was initially designed for PDAs, however, later
   versions have been designed for smartphones and other mobile devices. It offers a unique touch screen that is easy to use.

   Usually a mobile website design project comes about through one of the
   following circumstances:

   •It’s a brand new website in need of both a desktop and mobile strategy.
   •It’s a redesign of an existing website, which will include a new mobile site.
   •It’s an addition of a mobile site to an existing desktop site, which won’t be
   changing.

Beware of pitfalls in mobile design
         • Over-blown visuals.
         • Neglecting technological limitations, such as slow Internet
           connection, slow processors and single-threaded OS architectures.
         • Confusing navigation (flow, layout and taxonomy).
         • Confusing the iPhone with a computer. Neglecting to use new
           iPhone interactions (fingers instead of the mouse; multi-touch
           gestures; turn, tilt and rotate) and technological features such as
           phone functions, built-in GPS and accelerometer.
         • Disregard of context. A lack of understanding of how, when, where
           and why the mobile device is being used.
