What is a Warm-up?


A Warm-Up is something people do like stretching or
jogging until the heart gets to a workable rate for
exercise.
A period or act of preparation for a game.
Benefits of Warm-Ups


Reduce Muscle Stiffness.
Allows the heart to get to a workable rate for exercise.
It will lessen the chance of muscle sprains, muscle
cramps, muscle injury. Etc.
How to do a Warm-Up?

There are many ways to do a proper warm up.
Warm ups usually consist of stretching.
Usually involves jogging or doing jumps to get the heart
pumping.
Don’t do to intensive exercises too soon.
Warm-Ups usually lasts for 5-7 minutes.
What are ‘Contraindicative
Stretches’ ?

 They are ineffective stretches.
 They either do not do a good job stretching muscles or
 have potential to do harm.
 Examples : Straight-leg sit ups, Reverse curls with
 ankle, full head circles.
Examples of Warm-ups
