 Reflexes (0-1 month)
 Primary Circular Reactions (1-4 months)
 Secondary Circular Reactions (4-8 months)
 Coordination of Reactions (8-12 months)
 Tertiary Circular Reactions (12-18 months)
 Early Representational Thought (18-24 months)
Preoperational Stage
ages:2 to 6
 Language Development
 Egocentrism
 Conservation
 Increase in role playing
 Children will use their
imagination(ex: pretending
an old box is a house)

Egocentrism:
- The inability of the child to view
things from another perspective
other than their own
Conservation:
- The awareness that altering a
substance’s appearance does not
change its basic properties

ages: 7 to 11

 Difficulty understanding hypothetical concepts

Ages: 12 to adulthood
