1. Motivation
 The teacher will ask a student to describe in the class in detail something
he/she did over the weekend. The teacher will call someone to retell the first
student’s story in his own words.
Guided Questions:
1) How did he/she tell us about his/her weekend? What have you noticed?
2) Was it the same story as he retell it?
2. Activity
“Feel to Fill Me”
 The class will be divided into two groups. Each group must have
representatives. They will match appropriately the words and put it to the
blank spaces to form the correct sentence.
1) Joaquin has a good relationship with Chichay.

2) “I’m sorry I broke your mug” Papa Bear said.

Paraphrasing – involves taking a set of opinions or facts and rewarding
them.
- Rewriting a sentence or passage in your own words.
Example: The great library had many books.
Paraphrase – The large library housed several books.

Group Work:
 The teacher will group the class into two. Each group must paraphrase the
given sentences. The group who can finish correctly in just a short period
of time will be the winner.

Direction: In a ½ sheet of paper, paraphrase the following sentences.

5. The fall of the Berlin Wall was historical.

Paraphrasing Sentence Lesson Plan in English (4th Year)

  • 1. November 18, 2013 I. Objectives a. paraphrase the given sentences. II. Subject Matter Topic: Paraphrasing a sentence. Reference: English Plus and www.youdictionary.com Author: Dr. Minda G. Casayun Materials: flash cards, marker and visual aids. III. Lesson Proper A. Preliminary Activities Greetings Prayer Checking of Attendance Reminders Review B. Developmental Activities 1. Motivation  The teacher will ask a student to describe in the class in detail something he/she did over the weekend. The teacher will call someone to retell the first student’s story in his own words. Guided Questions: 1) How did he/she tell us about his/her weekend? What have you noticed? 2) Was it the same story as he retell it? 2. Activity “Feel to Fill Me”  The class will be divided into two groups. Each group must have representatives. They will match appropriately the words and put it to the blank spaces to form the correct sentence. 1) Joaquin has a good relationship with Chichay.   • 2. Paraphrasing – involves taking a set of opinions or facts and rewarding them. - Rewriting a sentence or passage in your own words. Example: The great library had many books. Paraphrase – The large library housed several books. 5. Application Group Work:  The teacher will group the class into two. Each group must paraphrase the given sentences.
