Firstly I used the site GOV.uk to find suitable and fitting
apprenticeships for me as a student within the media
industry.
One of the them I found that suited to me is an IT
support apprenticeship at the foundations of light.
Within these job I would help maintain issue logs
throughout the computer systems. I would also learn
certain problem solving over the course of 2 years. I
would be installing and configuring hardware. I would be
upgrading and replacing certain equipment.
With all of these excellent prospects I will need certain
qualifications. It’s a level 3 advanced apprenticeships
working minimum 35 hours a week, expected duration 18
months.

Through gov.uk I’ve found this specific apprenticeship and I think it fits
perfectly. With this completion of the certain apprenticeship there
would be a full time job waiting for me and being offered after
completion.
In this apprenticeship I would be earning just under £9,000 a year.
With that I must be over 18 year old to start and finish the
application due to certain things involved within the 2 year course
program.
Being a IT support apprentice would give me life lessons in
communication skills, IT skills, Organisation skills, Customer care
skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Number skills,
Analytical skills, logical, team working, patience and more.
If I wanted to accept and do the apprenticeship I would need to
apply by January 20th 2023, As also expected I would be working
minimum 8:30 – 16:30 for 5 days a week. Nonetheless having an
apprenticeship would give me good life skills and be a good
experience. But I would rather personally take a real job or go
down the line of my own content creation path.

CAREER IN
THIS
AREA?
Well with any career path you will certain qualifications and skills in any
job market and apprenticeships.
From what I can see through research the minimum requirement for
most apprenticeships is GCSE Maths 4-9 and a GCSE English 4- 9 across
the board these are needed for entry and possible landing the
apprenticeships but in certain cases that might not apply due or
depending on the certain apprenticeship.
For the apprenticeship I was researching and looking into a
minimum requirement if I was to go down that route is a
GCSE pass for both maths and English to potentially land
the job/apprenticeships.

The criteria for certain business and people alike to employ for
apprenticeships is a little different to typical jobs since it’s a
program on a time frame there is things that get factored
differently a job can mean for 10+ years and that means
apprenticeships have different requirements.
Criteria that’s important (apprenticeships)
• GCSE – 4 - 9 (maths)
• GCSE – 4 – 9 (English)
• Determination
• Leader
• Has Communication skills
With all these are just basic but important criteria that can be and
is needed across the board for all apprentice’s looking for
apprenticeships.
