2. What is Discord?
• Discord was designed initially for the video gaming community—that
specializes in text, image, video and audio communication between
users in a chat channel. Discord runs on Windows, macOS, Android,
iOS, Linux, and in web browsers.
• Here at Neumont we use Discord as an asynchronous chat channel
where students and instructors can interact throughout the
week. The class Academic Coach will also be in those chats and can
help with any questions.

3. Step 1: Download App
• Go to https://discordapp.com

5. Step 4: Create a new account
• Sign up with Neumont credentials

• Wait for your instructor to
send you a link to their
channel

7. Step 6: Get to know the Discord layout

8. Upload a photo
This is where direct messages will show up
and any servers you’ve joined
