allows the user to use , store or edit data online, without having to save the
data within their own device or having to tinker with the internals of

3. Google Drive
Google Drive is Google’s own “cloud computing
storage”
Google Drive allows the user to store files in the cloud,
sync files across devices, and then share them.
Under Google Drive is Google Docs, Sheets and Slides,
an office suite that also allows collaborative editing of
documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, forms,
and more. Files created and edited through the office
suite are saved within Google Drive and synchronized
with others.
4. A Brief History
Google Drive was launched in April 24, 2012
Immediately after being announced in April 2012, many criticized that the
privacy policy was unified between all products.
In April 2012, Google's then-Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai said that
Google Drive would be tightly integrated with Chrome OS version 20.
Support for Android, iOS, Mac and Linux was later released. An app was
developed for mobile systems rather being browser-based like on
Windows. Later on, an app would be released for PCs as well
By March 2017, Google announced that Google Drive had 800 million
active users.
5. Features
Google drive has a wide range of features, including:
Storing data within the cloud (upto 15 GB free)
Creating and editing presentations, documents, spreadsheets, projects,
etc.
File sharing
Collaborative editing
Browser support
Syncing of stored files
Support for 3rd party software
6. Utilizing Google Drive
To use Gdrive, you must first login by using your Google account or creating
one
To create files, one can upload their files by dragging / selecting the upload
button, or by creating new documents with the “Create” button and selecting
the type of document they wish to create
Clicking and opening any of the documents allows direct editing provided that
it is a supported filetype. Any and all changes are automatically saved and
synchronized on Gdrive
One can also publish, print or share a document by selecting the desired
option from the “File” menu
Navigating Drive is similar to navigating File Explorer on Windows
