planning, compliance needs and transfer pricing successfully minimising company tax payable.
Gained $49ml in available tax losses for the group in a consolidation reset.
Gained $95ml as a starting base for Petroleum Resource Rent Tax purposes substantially reducing
any future PRRT liability.
Gained savings of over $3ml in tax in Canada with repatriation of profits tax free.

Senior Finance Manager in major international Oil and Gas producer with turnover of over $4bl and operator of joint ventures in the
largest gas field in Australia and JV participant in numerous international oil and gas fields. Broad scope of responsibilities included:

Managed a team of 12 staff, documenting and improving companywide financial processes and procedures. Completed and managed
a wide range of risk based internal audits and international joint venture drilling audits. Lead risk management reviews in local and
international business units and projects with spend of $1.5bl. Developed audit and governance framework for HSE, managed and
lead complex HSE and ready for startup (RFSU) audits with teams of up to 5 professionals. Managed HSE budget of $10ml and reporting

Identified and delivered, together with executive team, A$100ml reduction in costs as part of a
profit enhancement project.
Designed a framework to develop finance staff through training and leadership programs and
acted as mentor.
Developed a team and reduced SAP month end processing times by 7 hours in just one part of the
process and overall by 3 days. Implemented GST and developed training for employees and
contractors.
Internal Audit and
Governance
Lead and managed recovery of audit claims of more than A$60ml.
Lead and managed a mediation and negotiation process, with a team of senior managers,
resulting in the reduction of a $40ml audit claim to $300k.
Prepared and presented training paper to audit team on corporate governance requirements
comparing the Turnbull Report, CLERP 9 and Sarbanes Oxley.
Lead a senior management team in developing the first, structured 5-10 year strategic plan for
health and safety with a focus on improvement in performance and leadership behaviours. Plan
applauded by Board, approved and implemented.
Business Risk
Management
Developed methodology for risk management based on COSO and ERM methodologies (an
American model – Treadway Commission in 2004) and
Devised and presented enterprise risk management training to over 70 people with excellent
