This document provides an introduction to analogies for 7th grade students. It defines an analogy as a comparison between two things used to determine their relationship. The document explains that analogies identify how two things are similar despite physical differences. It then provides examples of different types of analogies: synonym to antonym, part to whole, function to things, characteristics to things, and product to thing. The document concludes with an analogy assessment asking students to identify related words that complete 10 analogies.
