What is Stress?
– A force against our bodies that are caused by
influences and factors in our lives.
3 Types of Stress
• Acute Stress
– Most common form of stress
– The body’s immediate reaction to a significant
threat, challenge or scare.
• Ex: job interview, fender bender
3 Types of Stress
• Episodic Stress
– Develops when continuous disorganization ,
chaos, and crisis is a part of one’s life.
– Constantly worrying
• EX: Always being in a rush but always late.

• Chronic Stress
– Caused by long-term situations
– Stress that wears on people continuously and
usually occurs when an individual has no hope
and stop looking for a solution
• Ex: Financial and health worries, workplace
pressure and relationship problems

– Aches and pains
– Loss of sex drive
– Chest pains, rapid heart beat

and help get your metabolism going.
– Emotionally, it can serve as an outlet of emotions
and be a non-verbal way for expressing yourself.

and nervous system that have to deal with a
number of physical functions.
