• Fiction?
– It represents stories made by imagination.
• Non-fiction?
– They are written stories according to true
stories such as history.

4. What history does it have?
Battle of Thermopylae, BC 480
The Battle of Thermopylae took place
between an alliance of Greek city-
states, led by King Leonidas of Sparta, and
the Persian Empire of Xerxes. This war is
remained as one of great wars because
small number, thousands of soldiers, fought
against big number, millions of soldiers, for
their lives and country.

5. Who is king Leonidas?
King of Sparta, ruled c. 489–480
BC., leader at the battle of
Thermopylae
His name means the son of tiger, and
there are no stories about his
childhood. He became a hero with his
brave after the war, and the story of the
war and his name have been lasted.

6. What history does it have?
Trojan war and Achileus
This war took place because a
prince, Paris, of troy took Helen from
her husband Menelaus, the king
of Sparta. Menelaus’ brother went over
troy to attack the city for revenge. It
lasted for 10 years, and ended with a
trick, remained a big horse made of
wood and soldiers in side of it.

Achilles was the son of
the nymph Thetis and Peleus, the king of
the Myrmidons.
He is a hero of the Trojan War, the central
character and the greatest warrior of
Homer’s Iliad
Plato named Achilles the handsomest of the
heroes assembled against Troy.

World war Ⅱ & Schindler
Second World War happened in
1939 and ended in 1945. there was a
protector named Hitler killing millions
people during the war.
It was the most widespread war in
history.

9. Who is Schindler?
Oskar Schindler (1908-1974)
Schindler was born on April 28, 1908.
He is a German, but he was against
Hitler during the war. He saved a lot of
Jewish. Jewish still remember him and
thank him. We can see his story and
leadership though the movie and

10. What do we can see thorough
movies?
• History
– We can learn about history through movies.
We didn’t lived same generation, but we have
a chance to see our history from movies
• Heroes
– We can learn about heroes through movies.
As we have a chance to see our history from
movies, we also have a change to see heroes’
lives thorough movies.

11. How are we able to use them?
• Off class
– We have some fun with watching movies. In a
mean while, we could have time to see our
social issues. For example, we have a movie
name Do Ga Ni showing a terrible story
happened in school in Korea.
• In class.
– We can use movies to explain historical things
and the lives of older generations
