people, people-to-machine and machine-to-machine communications.
In 2017, they acquired a KVM extension and switching provider that faces defence and
government in addition to a number of other sectors. This business is growing and becoming
more international in its footprint.

3. The client has identified the product manager (PM) role in the KVM extension and switching
business as a point of entry for VP-level succession planning. It is aimed that, in time, the
successful candidate will be prepared and promoted into more senior-level product, client
experience or general manager-level positions. Given that this corporation has multiple
divisions and acquired enterprises, these roles could be located in a variety of business and
technological settings.

THE OPPORTUNITY
4. The product manager will be responsible for profitable growth at the product line level or
their assigned market segment.
They will evaluate, plan, execute and monitor initiatives to achieve growth and profitability
objectives. They will lead and manage the new product development process and manage
the product portfolio on an ongoing basis. The PM will provide support to field sales and
improve technical and commercial performance. This leader will be initiating and managing
cross-corporation activity.
We are looking for:
• A high potential, not necessarily via mainstream leadership development
• Product management leadership experience in a technology environment
• Experience of managing a product portfolio resulting in significant, profitable growth
• A future leader with strong learning agility (adaptability in leadership settings)
• Preference for someone comfortable with electrical systems, ideally audio/visual systems
• Someone prepared to be adaptable – this is a small business, although it is part of a large
corporation

INDIVIDUAL SPECIFICATION
5. This leader will:
• Effectively manage the double digit P&L
• Shoulder multiple projects and budgets
• Develop strategies for profitable growth, including in overseas territories
• Participate in the strategy development process
• Leads the new product development process. Applies project management tools as appropriate.
• Segments markets and cross-functionally develops value propositions
• Monitors operation expenses and applies financial management as required
• Manages the product portfolio by charting product life cycle
• Establishes, manages and provides the information required for business operations such as forecasting, budgets,
and inventory requirements
• Works closely with the marketing department to develop, fund and execute, ROI-based integrated marketing
communications campaigns
• Faces senior-level client contacts
