The idea of partnering to set up Finorg Consulting came up when we were both working at “C”
level in organizations facing challenging times or moves.!

Whilst working in such organizations we faced innumerous challenges and realized how much we
were alone and how inadequate were the consultants we had appointed to support us. Despite
their brilliant skills and education grades, we concluded that there was something missing which
was critical: an “on-hands” experience.!

All along our career, we have been leading and delivering some very complex projects working as
insiders in different organizations. Most of these projects required different competencies in an
intercultural environment.!

Hence, we have been able to build up realistic Best Practices combining the skills acquired while

Philippe BLOCH, CPA, Msc In Accounting, with a track record of 22 years in
Finance, from HGME to SME companies. Experienced in interim management
positions, from CFO to Deputy MD. He started at Ernst & Young and then went on
to Cap Gemini Consulting before moving on to CFO positions in various companies
in France and the US (Metro International) for the past 13 years. Expert in
organisational changes, information systems projects, profitability management,
forecasting and reduction costs programs.
He has also been a judge at the Commercial Court.
Jean-Paul ALVES, graduated from Harvard and Lyon’s business school, with a track
record of 22 years in Finance, from HGME to SME.
Formerly, he was Group CFO atVIADEO (the European competitor of LINKEDIN),
Finance Director at AOL France (Time Warner group), International Financial
Controller at Lagardère Services and auditor at Arthur Andersen/Ernst &Young.
He has been involved in various M&A processes in France and abroad (e.g. China, US,
Canada, India), led different fund raisings andViadeo’s IPO. He also took part in different
company recovery plans having been appointed by Private Equity shareholders. He also
has experience in creating structures in China, US and several countries in the
European Union.
