A. Daily Routine
Teacher Student
Prayer
Class, please stand up and let us pray. ( the students will pray)
Greetings
Good morning class!
Classroom Conditioning
Kindly arrange your chairs and pick up
those pieces of paper around you.
Okay, please be seated.
Checking of Attendance
Danica, is there any absent for today?
Very good!
Checking of Assignment
Did I give you any assignment
yesterday?
Exchange your paper to your seatmate.
Good morning Sir!
Thank you Sir.
None
Yes
B. Recall
Teacher Student
Here’s your grouping, it is not a
alphabetical arrange.
I have here a puzzle and i need you to
cope up the puzzle by group.
The first group who pasted on the board
given their parts and their meaning will
get 3 points in the quiz.
Did you get it the instruction?
Please do the signal clap if all clear and
ready to start.
Anyone of representative by group and
pick-up your puzzle on my table.
Ready? Start! Now!
Can you please present the plate tectonics
puzzle.
Very nice game. I think all are ready to
move on to the next topic.
Please settle down.
Yes Sir.
Yes Sir.
( Participate all members of group in the
game)
Yes Sir.
C. Motivation
Teacher Student
Before we proceed to the topic for today
let’s watch the video clip that connected
(students will watch the video clip)
to the topic.
Do you believed that the mountains,
volcanoes, trenches and etc., it is because
the plate tectonics?
To confirm it, let’s proceed to the topic
today the plate boundaries.
Yes sir!
D. Procedure
Teacher Student
Determining the location of earthquake
epicenters plays a vital role in laying the
foundations of plate tectonics. Let us see
how early geologists used the plotted
positions of earthquake epicenters
throughout the world in conceptualizing
crustal movements.
Let us now look the Figure 2: Map of
Plate Boundaries on page 7.
What is the difference between Figure 1
and a regular World map?
Excellent!
But what do you think it is the basis of
dividing the world in such manner?
The next activity will help you to confirm
your answer to the last question.
You will notice from Figure 1 that there
are two kinds of crust: the thicker but
less dense continental crust and the
oceanic crust which is relatively thinner
but denser than continental crust. While
the regular map in Figure 2, there are
seven relatively large plates and a
number of smaller ones, including the
Philippine plate
E. Pre- Activity
Teacher Student
Let’s now perform the activity 2 an titled
“Let’s Mark the Boundaries.”
Kindly, read the objectives.
Let’s start ! •Describe the distribution of active
volcanoes, earthquake epicenters, and
major mountain belts.
•Determine the scientific basis for
For the Materials?
And last for procedure?
Instruction:
1. Get your materials per group.
2. Cooperate and collaborate with
your groupmates.
3. Your time is 10 minutes to study,
to analyze and to answer the guide
questions.
4. Choose two to three presenter of
your activity.
5. Your score for this activity is
based on rubrix.
Let’s now begin!
dividing the Lithospheric plates.
•Figure 5: Map of earthquake
distribution
•Figure 6: Map of active volcanoes of
the world
•Figure 7: Mountain ranges of the world
•2 pieces plastic sheet used for book
cover, same size as a book page
•marking pens (two different colors)
Study Figure 5 showing the earthquake
distribution around the world. Trace the
approximate locations of several
earthquake “clusters” using a marking
pen on one of the plastic sheets.
F. Post Activity
Teacher Student
Time is up!
Please, paste your activity works on the
board.
Give you an “Good Job Clap”
Let’s start group 1.
I want to hear the next group, group 2.
Present your work group 3.
(The teacher will add information while
the presenters presents their works.)
For all group, give your self “Da Bes
Ako clap”.
Remember class that not ALL edges of
(The presenter presents their works and
asnwer the quide questions )
continents,mid-continents,or oceans can
be places where earthquake might occur.
Key concepts:
•Plates are large pieces of the upper few
hundred kilometers of Earth that move as
a single unit as it floats above the mantle.
•The plates are in constant motion. As
they interact along their margins,
important geological processes take place,
such as the formation of mountain belts,
earthquakes, and volcanoes.
There are three distinct types of plate
boundaries, which are differentiated by
the type of movement they exhibit.
What are those?
Completely!
It’s first type of plate boundary wherein
plates move apart, creating a zone of
tension. What it is?
Can you identify adjacent plates depicting
divergent boundary on Figure 8?
Let’s take the case of the Philippine plate
and the Eurasian plate. You will notice
that the two plates are moving toward
each other. This is an example of a zone
where plates collide, and what types of
plate boundaries is?
Correct!
The third type is the transform fault
boundary where plates slide or grind past
each other without diverging or
converging.
Excellent!
Base on map, kindly give me one best
example of transform?
Precisely!
Think you are all ready learned.
The three types are divergent, convergent
and transform boundary.
Divergent sir.
(students will point out in the map)
Sir, convergent.
Transform Sir.
The best example of this plate boundary
is the San Andreas fault which is
bounded by the North American plate
and the Pacific plate.
G. Generalization
Teacher Student
To generalized the topic for today, kindly
give the three types of plate boundaries
and differentiate each types.
Exactly and accurate description!
Give them a “Boom Boom Clap”
The three types are divergent, convergent
and transform boundary. The divergent is
where the plates move apart. For the
convergent is where the two plates
moving towards to each other. And lastly,
the transform boundary is where the
plates slide or grind past each other
without diverging or converging.
H. Valuing/ Application
Teacher Student
Why do you think it is important for us to
identify areas which are prone to
earthquakes?
Why you needs to study the types of
plate boundaries?
(Anyone) It is important to identify areas
which are prone to earthquakes so that
necessary precautions could be done if
ever you’re living in one of those places.
To be aware how plates are move and
gives a strong calamities to their
environment, but also it rise the
wonderful world.
IV. Evaluation
Draw three types of plate boundaries and give the description of each types.
V. Assignment
Give at least five possible effects of converging continental plate and oceanic
plate.

  • 2. Greetings Good morning class! Classroom Conditioning Kindly arrange your chairs and pick up those pieces of paper around you. Okay, please be seated. Checking of Attendance Danica, is there any absent for today? Very good! Checking of Assignment Did I give you any assignment yesterday? Exchange your paper to your seatmate. Good morning Sir! Thank you Sir. None Yes B. Recall Teacher Student Here’s your grouping, it is not a alphabetical arrange. I have here a puzzle and i need you to cope up the puzzle by group. The first group who pasted on the board given their parts and their meaning will get 3 points in the quiz. Did you get it the instruction? Please do the signal clap if all clear and ready to start. Anyone of representative by group and pick-up your puzzle on my table. Ready? Start! Now! Can you please present the plate tectonics puzzle. Very nice game. I think all are ready to move on to the next topic. Please settle down. Yes Sir. Yes Sir. ( Participate all members of group in the game) Yes Sir. C. Motivation Teacher Student Before we proceed to the topic for today let’s watch the video clip that connected (students will watch the video clip)
  • 3. to the topic. Do you believed that the mountains, volcanoes, trenches and etc., it is because the plate tectonics? To confirm it, let’s proceed to the topic today the plate boundaries. Yes sir! D. Procedure Teacher Student Determining the location of earthquake epicenters plays a vital role in laying the foundations of plate tectonics. Let us see how early geologists used the plotted positions of earthquake epicenters throughout the world in conceptualizing crustal movements. Let us now look the Figure 2: Map of Plate Boundaries on page 7. What is the difference between Figure 1 and a regular World map? Excellent! But what do you think it is the basis of dividing the world in such manner? The next activity will help you to confirm your answer to the last question. You will notice from Figure 1 that there are two kinds of crust: the thicker but less dense continental crust and the oceanic crust which is relatively thinner but denser than continental crust. While the regular map in Figure 2, there are seven relatively large plates and a number of smaller ones, including the Philippine plate E. Pre- Activity Teacher Student Let’s now perform the activity 2 an titled “Let’s Mark the Boundaries.” Kindly, read the objectives. Let’s start ! •Describe the distribution of active volcanoes, earthquake epicenters, and major mountain belts. •Determine the scientific basis for
  • 4. For the Materials? And last for procedure? Instruction: 1. Get your materials per group. 2. Cooperate and collaborate with your groupmates. 3. Your time is 10 minutes to study, to analyze and to answer the guide questions. 4. Choose two to three presenter of your activity. 5. Your score for this activity is based on rubrix. Let’s now begin! dividing the Lithospheric plates. •Figure 5: Map of earthquake distribution •Figure 6: Map of active volcanoes of the world •Figure 7: Mountain ranges of the world •2 pieces plastic sheet used for book cover, same size as a book page •marking pens (two different colors) Study Figure 5 showing the earthquake distribution around the world. Trace the approximate locations of several earthquake “clusters” using a marking pen on one of the plastic sheets. F. Post Activity Teacher Student Time is up! Please, paste your activity works on the board. Give you an “Good Job Clap” Let’s start group 1. I want to hear the next group, group 2. Present your work group 3. (The teacher will add information while the presenters presents their works.) For all group, give your self “Da Bes Ako clap”. Remember class that not ALL edges of (The presenter presents their works and asnwer the quide questions )
  • 5. continents,mid-continents,or oceans can be places where earthquake might occur. Key concepts: •Plates are large pieces of the upper few hundred kilometers of Earth that move as a single unit as it floats above the mantle. •The plates are in constant motion. As they interact along their margins, important geological processes take place, such as the formation of mountain belts, earthquakes, and volcanoes. There are three distinct types of plate boundaries, which are differentiated by the type of movement they exhibit. What are those? Completely! It’s first type of plate boundary wherein plates move apart, creating a zone of tension. What it is? Can you identify adjacent plates depicting divergent boundary on Figure 8? Let’s take the case of the Philippine plate and the Eurasian plate. You will notice that the two plates are moving toward each other. This is an example of a zone where plates collide, and what types of plate boundaries is? Correct! The third type is the transform fault boundary where plates slide or grind past each other without diverging or converging. Excellent! Base on map, kindly give me one best example of transform? Precisely! Think you are all ready learned. The three types are divergent, convergent and transform boundary. Divergent sir. (students will point out in the map) Sir, convergent. Transform Sir. The best example of this plate boundary is the San Andreas fault which is bounded by the North American plate and the Pacific plate.
  • 6. G. Generalization Teacher Student To generalized the topic for today, kindly give the three types of plate boundaries and differentiate each types. Exactly and accurate description! Give them a “Boom Boom Clap” The three types are divergent, convergent and transform boundary. The divergent is where the plates move apart. For the convergent is where the two plates moving towards to each other. And lastly, the transform boundary is where the plates slide or grind past each other without diverging or converging. H. Valuing/ Application Teacher Student Why do you think it is important for us to identify areas which are prone to earthquakes? Why you needs to study the types of plate boundaries? (Anyone) It is important to identify areas which are prone to earthquakes so that necessary precautions could be done if ever you’re living in one of those places. To be aware how plates are move and gives a strong calamities to their environment, but also it rise the wonderful world. IV. Evaluation Draw three types of plate boundaries and give the description of each types. V. Assignment Give at least five possible effects of converging continental plate and oceanic plate.
