Importance: High
I wanted to make sure everyone in US Finance received this announcement regarding one of the great finance leaders at
McDonald’s. Janet has touched many of us throughout her career. In addition to her always sharing her knowledge
base, many of us were blessed to have had the opportunity to have worked with and been mentored by Janet. Although
she will be greatly missed here in the McDonald’s financial arena, we wish Janet all the best as she moves to the next
exciting chapter in her life. Please join me in wishing Janet and her family well.
Thx

Subject: gFIT Organizational Announcement
After 30 years of dedication to the System, Janet Arthur will retire from McDonald’s on February 16, 2015.
In her time with McDonald’s, Janet directed numerous business process transition, consolidation & re -engineering
initiatives, and technology implementations. Under her guidance, her teams achieved significant efficiencies and cost
reductions, best in class Customer service, and implementation of the Global Design for key end to end financial
processes. Throughout her career, Janet also helped develop talent across the System.
Most recently as the Senior Director of Global Business Processes & Policy for McDonald’s Global Finance Integration
and Transformation (gFIT) Program, Janet was responsible for global financial process design, compliance, and
continuous improvement. Her efforts helped drive the development and deployment of a global set of end-to-end financial
processes, policies, and controls, enabled by a common technology platform.
Janet joined McDonald’s in 1984 and held positions in International Accounting, as a Regional Controller, and in a variety
of McOpCo Accounting positions including responsibility for multiple Accounting Centers. Her last role prior to joining gFIT
was with Global Shared Services, where Janet was responsible for North American Shared Services Operations to
include the Employee Service Center, Benefits Accounting, Real Estate & Franchise Accounting, Restaurant, and
Corporate Accounting.
Over the course of the next few months, we will be working to identify Janet’s successor.
I’m excited for Janet’s new endeavors including spending more time with her husband (Jim ), family (daughter Lauren,
son-in-law Bryan, granddaughter Madeline, son Mitchell and his fiancée Jackie) and friends in Ohio as well as enjoying
her home in Hilton Head and traveling the global.
Please join me in congratulating Janet and wishing her the best in her retirement!
Kind regards,
Kelvin
