Jamie Tilsley created a music video, poster, and digipak for a rap artist and obtained feedback from 15 participants on the projects. When asked about the genre of the projects, all 15 participants identified them as rap. For whether the tasks were linked to the music video, the majority of participants said yes, though 4 did not see a connection. Ratings for each individual task ranged from 1 to 10, allowing Jamie to gauge the overall effectiveness for each piece.

Evaluation task 3 what have you learned from audience feedback
1. Evaluation Task 3- What have you
learned from your audience
feedback?
By Jamie Tilsley
2. Introduction
On finishing the three tasks of my final
music video, poster advert and digipak,
I went to obtain feedback on my
products to see if had done a good job
on them and if they appealed to my
target market. The questions I designed
had the purpose to find what was good
or bad about my tasks.
3. What genre do you think my
music video and ancillary tasks
are?
This question will give me feedback on
whether my music video, poster and digipak
are appropriate for its genre and if my
target audience can identify it as part of the
rap genre. This is an essential part of the
success of my video and tasks as I want to
make sure I am targeting the right people
who will be interested and entertained by
rap conventions in my music video and
images from my ancillary tasks.
4. Results
With this first set of results, I asked a group of
15 participants, here are the results:

Pop R&B Rap Rock
What genre do you think is the
music video and tasks are best
suited to?
5. Reflection
These results are extremely positive as the
target market were all able to correctly
appropriate my tasks into the rap genre. I
made my question multiple choice as to give
the audience more of a range to place the
products into and not to sway them to the
results I wanted. This shows that conventions
placed have lead to the audience
appropriating the rap genre.
6. Do you think there are links between my
ancillary tasks and my music video?
This question allows me to see if my ability to
create a brand for my artist and have
appropriate cross promotion within different
media, all grouping together to create as
much publicity and promotion as possible
for my artists new album. By turning to my
target audience for answers, I can get the
best feedback possible.
8. Reflection
These results show that the majority still feel
my tasks link together, even if 4 of the 15
people didn’t see a link. I would personally
say I didn’t do all I could in representing a
link for all my tasks, however the target
market must see the link in all of my
products holding an image of my artist to
publicise him on the ancillary tasks and
music video.
9. Give my tasks a rating from 1-10
This question can gauge an overall
rating from my audience in seeing the
effectiveness on a rating of 1 (not
effective) to 10 (very effective).
