2. At Lucasfilm Pixar were founded 1979 were they started a s a graphics devision of
Lucasfilm’s. The mainly worked on effects, also at this time they created some of the
first particle effects. But in 1986 they were bought out by Steve Jobs, this made them
independent. At this point Pixar worked with other studios.

3. How they
animate
Pixar use there own software that allows them to animate 3D models, then using
powerful computers they can render these models, this is computer simulating the
model this is how they make each frame. This process is very taxing on computers
so they use a set of commuters known as a ‘Render farm’ to be dedicated to
rending frames.
They animate by playing all of the 100,000s of frames, showing a small amount of
movement in each to build up then animation. This is standard animation, but as
this is Pixar the amount of work that will go in to story boarding, and hand
drawn artwork will be will be unmatchable to any other studio.

4. Toy story
In 1995 the first Toy Story was created by Pixar Animation Studio and Walt Disney
Pictures with the original story but first of its kind the film did very well with
the budget of $30.000.000 but then reaching $350,000,000 in the box office. The
film was loves by all ages this was because most everyone could relate to the film
in some way. This is why it did so well, this really showed them how much money
could be made making this style of film.

5. A Bugs Life
In 1998 they released another new idea this time involving bugs as the core
theme. They hoped spending more money on the production of the film would help
it sell, but it some what backfired on them, the spent 120,000,000 making it. Then
only making $350,ooo,ooo, the same amount for Toy Story.

6. Toy Story 2
With the underachieving goal from A Bugs Life Pixar and Walt Disney went back to
there original IP of Toy Story. In 1998 they released Toy story 2 spending
$90,000,000, less then A Bugs Life, but then reaching 485,000,000 in the box
office. This was really good for pixar as this film also got highly reviewed much
like the first Toy Story.

7. Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo being released in 2003 was there first major success were they spent
$94,000,000 and almost making 10x that back making $921,000,000 from the film.
This was and amazing achievement and still holds the second highest grossing
film of all time. With the dynamic story and beautiful animation has given this
film very high review across the board.

8. Up
Then in 2009 Pixar and Walt Disney again they released Up. Up was the first fully
3D animated feature film, Because of this the film did well, making $730,000,000
then costing them $175,000,000 was a good to see, this showed them that people
liked 3D animated films. Also the film was critically acclaimed getting very high
reviews from its humour and creative IP

9. Cars 2
Cars 2 was the sequel to Cars by Pixar and Walt Disney in 2006, the first film did
ok but was not regarded as one of there best. Then in 2011 they released Cars 2
this film was not greeted well be the public getting 5/10 reviews mainly. The film
cost $200,000,000 and only made $55,000,000 back, this is a lot less then there
prior film Toy story 3 costing the same as Cars 2 but making $1 billion.
