This app can be used by ages 10+ for research and background knowledge for reading and
writing assignments. Content needs to be filtered by the teacher to make sure it's appropriate.

BrainPOP jr. is a great way to introduce a new topic or concept and get kids engaged. You can pause
the movies and engage kids when a new vocabulary word is introduced, paraphrase what just
happened, or make a prediction. This is a great app for science and social studies.

Duolingo is an excellent foreign language learning application that is fun, engaging, and
visually appealing. It provides courses in several of languages for primary English speakers,
as well as, English language learning for ESL students.
● Duolingo can be a great tool for a student in a foreign language class or an ESL
student learning or refining their English skills

7. Kahoot
This app creates flashcards, fun quizzes and quiz games. It provides student feedback
with flashcards which they can flip over to see if they got the answer correct.This allows
students to review materials in a fun, engaging way.

● Privacy rules state that the app does not knowingly seek or collect personal
information from users under the age of 13.

8. DragonBox

Each math game engages students through exploration, reflection, and application. Can be used daily
with iPad. Students can play a game, and then come together as a class to reflect and write down the
rules they have learned in that “chapter.” Then, take an equation from the game and solve it on paper.
● DragonBox uses a star system as feedback. Using a star point system, the app encourages
students to think about the problem and to solve it in as few steps as possible.
