Implementing Mindset Theory to Boost Learners and Teachers
Although most agree that psychology is key for effective education, this isn't yet reflected in many classrooms or teacher training courses. So using Professor Dweck's Mindset Theory, this talk will share practical ways to promote Growth Mindset in learners and teachers to boost both the classroom and staffroom.
4. GROWTH MINDSET FIXED MINDSET
Intelligence... can be improved with
focused practise.
can’t change as it’s what I’m
born with.
Effort... is how I improve. I love a
challenge!
shows a lack of intelligence.
The easier, the better.
Failure... is a stepping stone to
success. Try again!
is a disaster. Give up!
Other people’s
success...
makes me happy and
motivates me.
makes me look stupid.
Criticism... is a chance to improve. means I messed up.
