Spring Newsletter
2016
#12
Spring
After a good long break over Christmas, everyone came back into work
ready for another busy year. Following on from this, we have been
successful with multiple orders and have had a good start.
Plenty more work to be done though and the future months are also
looking incredibly promising with lots of development happening in
and around London Birmingham.
With the summer quickly on its way we are eager to get more work
through our doors and have many opportunities we are currently
pricing for including some very distinguished sites such as London City
Island, Embassy Gardens, Brunswick Square and Holborough Lakes.
2. Completed Projects
Below is a quick description of some of the jobs we have finished and moved on from. Our
Staff and partners on site have worked tirelessly to get these projects completed to the high
standard we expect and we are very pleased to have the experience and expertise that they
bring to our company.
Chelsea Creek
Chelsea Creek is London’s newest and most prestigious
waterside development, by award winning developer St
George. A stunning location offering a peaceful environment
within the vibrancy of London and featuring a stunning
collection of studio, 1, 2 3 bedroom apartments and
penthouses.
The whole ME shell core and fit out package was
undertaken and completed by us to the high standard that
was required on the project. Leaving our mark on a stunning
location in London.
Riverlight Phase 12
Riverlight is an exciting new residential development,
directly on the river-front in the heart of the new Nine
Elms on the South Bank district, London’s largest and
most exciting regeneration area.
Parker Bromley has been involved in this project from
the very beginning, working on every phase that St
James has sent out. On Phases 12 we have provided
Hot Cold and Chilled water services, Ventilation and
connections to the vast Underfloor heating provided
by others for the apartments.
We are still on site working through phases 3, 4 5
and are pleased to be so heavily involved in such a
reputable project.
3. Christopher Boone’s Almshouses
We have been successful in securing the Christopher Boone’s Almshouses project with Rydon Construction
paving the way for an on going partnership between the two companies. We finally shook hands on
£4.5 million for the ME Aspects of the work. This comprises of 88 apartments + 2 on site nurses
accommodation.
This project is to develop state-of-the-art, fully-accessible and fully-adaptable almshouses. Despite their
consolidation of Christopher Boone’s and Merchant Taylors almshouses onto one site, these new homes
will be significantly more spacious, and suitable for people with serious mobility difficulties, who will
(sometimes with care provided by outside agencies) be able to remain comfortably in their own homes for
far longer than they can at present.
Secured Projects
In this section we will give a quick brief on a few of the projects we have managed to secure.
These will be starting in the upcoming weeks / months with more promising projects sighted
on the horizon. These will be taken under the Parker Bromley banner and our highly skilled
work force deployed to complete.
Polhill, Bedford CHP
Our works are to consist of the strip out of the existing district
heating plant to the N Block Plantroom and installation of a new
CHP system and subsequent additional plantroom equipment. The
new plant will include back up gas fired boilers, pumps, calorifier,
buffer vessel and heat exchangers. The existing district heating
network and associated plantroom will also be upgraded to
accommodate the works to the system including new substations
supplying each of the other 8 blocks.
Fusion 21 Heating Systems Framework
Parker Bromley have been awarded a Framework Agreement from Fusion 21 until 2021 for the Service,
Maintenance and Installation of heating systems. Overall the framework is estimated to be about
£200million which will be broken down in to lots by area and handed to a set number of successful
applicants to price and undertake the works. The lots we have secured are:
• Domestic Installations (Up to 20 properties a week)
• Domestic Installations (Over 20 properties a week)
• Commercial Installations
This is a great success for Parker Bromley and ensures plenty of ongoing bid opportunities for the future.

Certificates / Accreditations
With special mention to Thomas Maltby who achieved his IOSH
“Technical Member” accreditation at the beginning of April.
There will always be staff who come and go but we should always be grateful for the work that
they put in. One of the things we hope everyone likes about this company is how we all want
to get the job done and will all try to pull in the same direction. There will always be lumps
and bumps to get over but it is much easier to achieve the high targets and standards this
company holds as part of a strong team.
Staff
Another year starting with some staff following different career paths leaving spaces open
for new members to join the Parker Bromley Ranks.
Below is a quick list to say “welcome” to our new employee’ and a thank you and goodbye
to the staff who have moved on.
5. Investors in People
Parker Bromley are always looking to improve their service, not only to our customers but
also to the staff that spend their time and effort working hard to achieve our goals. In light of
this and the companies continued development of its staff, we have been awarded the world
recognised accreditation “Investors in People”
Since 1991 Investors in People has set the standard for better people management. Our
internationally recognised accreditation is held by 14,000 organisations in 75 countries
around the world. The Standard defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people
well for sustainable results.
Successful accreditation against the Investors in People Standard is the sign of a great
employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to sustainability.
Only about a third of UK companies use Investors in People accreditation and we will
continue to push for the higher standards of Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Our own Kirsty Barnard has
put a lot of time and effort
into pushing Parker Bromley to
achieve this accreditation.
With her dedication to reaching
this goal, it was made a lot easier
and we would like to thank her
for all her hard work.
6. London Marathon
As mentioned in our previous Newsletter, Shaun Hollman Kirsty Barnard were successful
in securing a place in the Virgin London Marathon that was held on April 24th.
Children with Cancer
Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with
cancer every year in the UK. Their aim is to determine the
causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.
Sadly cancer is still the most common medical cause of death beyond infancy in children and young people
in the UK. The money raised by Shaun and Kirsty will help with research, improved treatments and support
for children with cancer and their families. So far since 1988, thanks to the support of everyone, Children
with Cancer UK have raised over £190 million to help the fight against childhood cancer.
They are currently funding more than 50 research projects at centres of excellence around the UK. These
projects are investigating a broad range of childhood cancers – helping them to better understand these
diseases and to find more effective, less toxic ways of treating them.
One of the greatest medical success stories of the last century is the amazing growth in the survival from
childhood cancer. Fifty years ago, only a quarter of children diagnosed with cancer survived. Today, more
than 80 per cent of young patients can be successfully treated. This is an amazing achievement and a true
sign that science is improving. With our help we can force cancer to be a thing of the past!
Both Shaun and Kirsty had been working tirelessly to get themselves in shape for the event and the hard
work they put in should be a testament to their commitment in supporting Children with Cancer.
Unfortunately due to training so rigorously, Kirsty had been advised by doctors not to run because of an
injury but still attended to support Shaun on the day and has pushed to get as many donations for the
cause as possible.
With the run totalling in at just over 26 miles, this is certainly not something a lot of us would be able to do
and we all have a lot of respect for anyone that can achieve more than 5 minutes of running and without
wanting to collapse!
With their target so close to being achieved, anything you can give towards this cause is greatly
appreciated. Please visit “http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/kirstybarnard-shaunhollman” to donate.
Every little helps!
So far an impressive £2,000 has been raised and a massive thank you goes out to everyone who has
contributed!
