• In a spectacular follow up to an earlier report produced by JLL, Polk County is one of the only markets across the
entire United States to land an e-commerce lease in excess of 1.0 million square feet.
• The Prologis-owned 1,078,000 square foot building on C Fred Jones Blvd in Auburndale is slated to deliver in 2021
with the nation’s largest online retailer, Amazon, as its only tenant.
• Polk County’s proximity to both Tampa and Orlando makes it a highly desirable location for distribution and
warehousing. For this reason, Amazon alone already has over 1.5 million square feet in the market. On top of that,
JLL has recorded approximately 6.5 million square feet worth of tenants looking for space in the market.
• This new lease happens during the same year as the market’s largest-ever construction pipeline. With rents and
construction inventory both setting new records in 2019 and with absorption historically chewing through new
deliveries, the market is continually showcasing its strength.
