5. 2 Rewards I Liked and
Disliked
I liked the reward for pledging $20. You get 1 Side
Winder product for no charge. I like it because the
people get what they’re interested in and there is no
confusion about it. It’s a simple way to get your name
out there and get the product more publicity.
I disliked the reward for $120 which was “five reels-
office discount”. First off it was unclear to me if the
reward was actually receiving the product or if it was
just getting a discount. Also, I feel like less people
would be inclined to spend that much money.
6. About the video
I liked the video because it was short and concise. It
didn’t drag on. It was right to the point and described
their product very well.
I liked that the video used the simplicity of an Apple
commercial. They used lots of whites and light colors.
This catered to the audience that likes Apple products
which is the same audience that will buy their products.
7. Why it succeeded
I think this project succeeded because it coupled a
good product with good advertising. In my opinion,
the video was key to helping this project succeed. It
demonstrated the need and everyday application of
their product.
8. Paw Union Network
A paid social network focusing on the personal
experiences of pet owners that can also share their
ideas on how to stop animal abuse and euthanasia.
Part of the money earned will go to building animal
shelters.

union-network-a-harbour-of-hope-for-domestic-
a?ref=ending_soon
Focus: Making a social network to stop the euthanasia
of domestic animals across the world.
Funding Goal: $26,377
Actual Achieved: $149
Type: Social Entrepreneurship
10. 2 rewards I liked and disliked
Dislike: The one dollar contributors received nothing. It
says their reward would be “a big thank you from us”
but it does not say what that would be. At least a thank
you card or a bracelet would be better.
Dislike: For $20 dollars the reward is your name on the
contributors section of their website. Once again this is
a not an attractive or reward. Something physical in
return would be better.
11. About the video
I disliked the video because there was no motion. It
was more of a slide show with a couple of captions. It
was not very eye-catching and looked very amateur
because of the poor transitions and image quality.
I disliked the fact that the video gave almost no
information about their plan or what their project was. It
spent the whole time showing pictures of sad animals.
It played well to the viewers emotion but did nothing to
explain their project.
12. Why it didn’t succeed
I think the main reason they didn’t succeed is because
they did such a poor job explaining what their project
was all about. With a lot of reading I was able to get an
idea of what they wanted to do, but to the average
viewer who just has time to watch the video it made no
sense. People are not going to want to donate to a
cause that has a poor video and introduction. If you
cant do that well, you probably cant manage their
donation well.
