Project proposal title and date:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Main area of activity:
Film
Reference your medium you will mostly work in; Graphic design, Film, Photography,
Interactive/Video Game etc.
Rationale: 100 words approx.
Throughout the year I did many different projects but I feel as though my best work was done on
the video project when we had to make the music video and I think that making a film trailer would
be a step up from making a music video and would challenge me and help me improve my skill set
further. I feel as though the music video project help me a lot and I have got a good skill set from
that project. I feel as though my editing skills have improved a lot and I feel I will be able to
comfortably edit my trailer and I feel confident in the filming of everything.
Review your progress throughout this year- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
For my project, I am wanting to make a trailer for a film about a serial killer who has finally decided
to reveal how he killed his victims and where they have been buried after being imprisoned for
around 15 years. In the trailer, you will see the murderer at different points in his life and different
victims as he starts to tell a journalist how he did it. To do this project I will have to some research
on prisons and different sentences people can get for certain crimes. I will also watch some
documentaries on serial killers and some interviews with them so I can see who that sort of person
acts and what their reasoningâs are for what they did. I will also have to analyse some film trailers
in the genre which I am wanting to put my trailer to be in so I know what appeals to the audience I
am targeting my trailer towards. I will also make a poster or two to go along with the trailer I am
making so I will have to look at posters for the film trailers I look at so I can make sure my poster
appeals to the same audience as my trailer.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 50 words approx.
To evaluate my work, I will do a daily reflection when doing my production talking about to
processes and how I think it is all going and how I am shooting my trailer and how I am editing it all
when I get to the editing stage. One I have got my final product I will do a final self-reflection of my
work and then I will get some pear feedback to see if people find it appealing and to find out what
people that are in my target audience like about my trailer and what they think could be improved.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
