Can India export skilled labour force to the world?
Highlighting the importance of labours for the successful realization of ―Make in India‖ campaign PM Modi launched the
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate Karyakaram. On the occasion he said that India can export skilled labours
to the whole world. But, does India really have the capacity to become an exporter of skilled labour force. Let‘s see:
Yes:
-India has a huge demographic dividend, and this dividend provides fertile ground for a large skilled labour force.
-Youth in the country is getting better education opportunity and can be easily trained to inculcate the required skills.
-Already Indians have shown their capabilities at global level in the sectors like Information Technology. If labour force is
provided with the enough opportunities, nothing can stop them to work throughout the world.
-Birth rate in most of the developed countries is either stagnated or decreasing. So, in future this will create a huge
demand for the labour force and India can easily fulfill this demand.
No:
-Though we have a large labour force but mostly it is unskilled and lacks the competency required at global level.
-Successive governments have launched innumerable schemes for skill enhancement of the labour force, but such
efforts hardly yield the expected results.
-The labour force along with skills lacks communication skills in global languages like English without which it‘s very
difficult to work in foreign countries.
-Biggest problem is the unorganized nature of the labour force. Until organized, it is very difficult to impart skills to this
force for global exposure.
Conclusion:
The thought of PM to turn India into a global exporter of labour is indeed visionary and has the capability to transform the
face of Indian Labour sector. But actual implementation of this thought is not possible until the aforesaid hurdles are
removed. In this regard, the newly launched scheme will set the stage for the speedy removal of these hurdles and will
give workers a greater say in formulation of future policies.
RE: Can India export skilled labour force to the world?

This topic is tricky to be discussed. It depends on our priority. What is India in need for? Is that the financial aid or brain
and power? With Modi influence all around, we have been hearing the craving for position for our country into the top list
in the world. If that us what we actually urge for, then this discussion for exporting our skills is an utter wastage.
We Indians are often in a habit of hue and cry for brain drain. If we really do care for brain drain, then why should we
think of exporting our brains. Now this has become a proven fact that our brains don't prefer to return back once they get
respect and prestige for their talent. Neither do we respect our talents, nor do we posses immense wealth to offer some
lucrative package to attract them back. With such a heavy heart, we don't need to think of exporting more skills and
make our competitors grow more strong with our talent.
If at all we need any financial help, that would be to get back our skilled labours and technicians by offering them some
really good deals. And tgat coukd not be done with further loss of skills for our country. This needs a good thoughtful
mind who could analyse the importance of talent for the growth of our country in comparison to the monetary hike that
we receive from this brain drain. Precisely, exporting the skilled labours would be an utter foolishness
RE: Can India export skilled labour force to the world?
mahadev singh negi 10-24-2014 11:29 AM
Why not
Average age of India is only 26 year ; we have the largest labour force in world after 2050. Innovative skills, hardworking
nature and hunger to work are the key factors on which basis India can export ..

Should physical presence of NRIs be required for voting?
Introduction:
The issue of NRIs voting rights has long been on a decision-pending status and even when voting rights were granted to
them in 2010, the SC imposed the rule of ―physical presence in the locality‖ for voting. The petition filed by NRI doctor
Shamsheer has been seriously taken by SC and it seems that soon we shall have absentee voting or voting through
Indian mission abroad. However, the matter still remains debatable whether physical presence is necessary or an
unnecessary hindrance for NRIs who are keen in casting their votes.
Yes, physical presence is required:
1. Possibility of fraud voting: Impersonating someone is a big threat with the various processes of absentee voting. It
would only require a hacked password or a signature copying to vote in place of another person. This is absolutely
avoided with the physical presence of a voter at the voting ballot.
2. Risk of intimidating voters: The process of voting at ballots is a matter of privacy where nobody actually sees what
or who the other person is voting for. However, this cannot be assured by any absentee voting method, hence making
intimidation of voters easy. This privacy can only be assured by the physical presence of the voter.
3. Unseen and unethical practices: Unethical practices could easily be involved without the physical presence of the
voter. We have all heard of how in the 2008 presidential election Obama campaign held ―voter parties‖ where supporters
decided to fill out their absentee ballots together. Is there place for independent decision making if a voter decided to
vote for Republican in a local race? Another example is of the San Francisco absentee ballots voting manipulation which
was in headlines for quite a long time.
4. Confirmation unguaranteed: There is a doubt with online voting as it is for paying bills online. The difference would
be that we get to see what has been actually debited from our account to pay the bill and that too after a confirmation is
received but with voting online, one cannot be sure that his/her vote actually got registered or simply tossed away.
5. Rejected votes: There have been instance in countries which follow the procedure of absentee voting, where 20% of
the absentee votes were not even counted due to signature mismatch or other disqualification issues like mistakes in
filling the form, etc. Avoiding these issues require the physical presence of the voter.
6. Late counting: There would be issues of late counting of the absentee vote ballots and most countries that follow the
system reports this issue of the votes never being counted on the election night. This can happen due to many reasons
including delay with scrutinizing the signatures with the voter‘s details and time differences between the countries.
No, physical presence is a hindrance:
1. Travelling issues: Not every Indian working or studying abroad can get leave for coming back to their country for
voting and neither it will be economical on everyone‘s part to afford the expenses of travelling from, say New York to
India. Setting up ballots at Indian mission abroad or mailing ballots would be bliss to all the NRIs who are keen on voting
but find it difficult to be physically present during elections.
2. When so many nations including USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands,
Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Lithuania, Hungary, Mexico, Dominion Republic,
El Salvador, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and many more can have the right to vote while being abroad, why can‘t
India adopt the process too?
3. Wise decisions: Travelling back to India to vote would often include intimidation of vote by near and dear ones and
usually those contesting from the same region. With absentee voting method, voters can research online about all the
candidates contesting the election along with the details of their education, deeds, criminal records, ect. and make a
wise decision based on their own conscience.
4. More turnouts: Only 15% of the total NRIs come back to their region for voting and the rest of them simply lag behind
due to the extra costs and travel issues. Indian missions abroad could be a great relief to these and the rest of the NRIs
who would get their rights to vote and would stay connected to their mainland.
5. Recently Supreme Court permitted armed forces personnel to vote at their place of posting. When this change could
be made for army, then there is no reason why the same could not be done to enable NRIs to vote from the place where
they are residing.
Conclusion:
NRIs voting through Indian missions abroad and other such modern mechanisms could prove to a great change in the
old policy which required the physical presence of NRI voters at the polling booth. The challenges of this system could
be tackled by following some strict rules for absentee voting and to ensure the privacy rights of a voter to vote for
whichever candidate he/she prefers.
RE: Should physical presence of NRIs be required for voting?
Deepa Kaushik 10-24-2014 04:26 AM
Voting right for NRIs is very much acceptable. Coming on to the discussion for their physical presence at the time of
voting, this is again very much important and required. We are all well aware of our present scenario going on in the
country. Everyone is aware of the fact that Indians are good in finding loopholes in the structure to make an easy way
out for the illegal and unfair play.
Being in such a verge of high corruption and crazy heads, it would be definitely difficult to have the option of online
voting. Rightly said the online voting being conducted in many other countries across the world don't have a fully
satisfactory output.Either the unfair play with absentee voting pops in, or the votes cast by NRIs goes in vain due to lack
of time and infrastructure during the counting process. Casting votes with physical presence avoid the fake voting and
the time factor doesn't restrict any votes from getting counted.
It is pretty understandable and acceptable that every visit is quite expensive and time consuming. And it needs an easy
way out to resolve their concern for expense with their right to vote. Our government can create polling booths at Indian
embassies overseas to manage all sorts of hassle. Such a solution will help in having the physical presence of NRIs at
the time of voting in their vicinity

Aviation industry - Can India lead?
India‘s Aviation sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. There are about 450 airports and 1100
registered aircrafts in India. This sector has a compound annual growth rate of about 18%. Indian airlines industry had
total revenue of $14.2 billion in 2011. These figures reflect the growing potential of Indian airlines sector. But we need to
analyze, does this sector has the ability to emerge as a future world leader in aviation industry.
Yes:
-With the increase in per capita income, more and more Indians are now able to travel through airlines.
-Government has allowed FDI in aviation industry. So, collaboration with foreign players will enhance Indian airlines
global reach.
-Interest shown by foreign airlines in buying stakes in domestic airlines has shown the faith and confidence of foreign
industries about Indian airline sector.
-Also, Indian companies through these collaborations will get the much needed global exposure in airlines sector.
-FDI in aviation sector will bring in foreign capital as well as technology, which transform the domestic aviation industry
and can turn India into the preferred destination for aero planes manufacturing.
No:
-Most of the civil air carriers in India today are under severe financial strain. For instance, Air India has a debt of
approximately $6.4 billion.
-Indian airlines are operating with high fuel costs because of the PSU‘s monopoly in finalizing the price of ATF (Air
Turbine Fuel).
-Volatility in Rupee‘s price against USD is yet another problem, which impacts airline companies long term planning.
-Kingfisher‘s debacle has proved to be disastrous for airline companies. They are already facing the complex taxation
and bureaucratic controls. Now, this new episode has made it more difficult for these players to raise funds from
markets.
Conclusion:
With high on optimism Indian airline industry has crossed new milestones and progressing to achieve new targets.
Unfortunately, domestic rules are pulling back this sector from realizing its potential to the fullest extent. With the new
opportunities opened up for foreign players, these domestic hurdles needs to be eradicate, then only we can expect
India to emerge as the world leader in aviation industry.
RE: Aviation Industry - Can India lead?
Deepa Kaushik 10-23-2014 02:24 AM
India into the aviation sector is like a newly planted tree. It is very early to judge if we can lead. It is good to aim and
dream high but overconfidence is bad. It is not that we cannot lead in aviation industry. To be realistic, we need to focus
and work a lot in this field.
We have a lot many challenges to be met to get ourselves to the international standard. Having FDI into aviation industry
has their own pros and cons. It us not only the investment and technology that is into the deal, but we are definitely
losing some share from our own authority granting the access to the foreigners to interrupt our way if processing. Any
loophole could prove fatal and make a big loss for us.
Still having the FDI is the only scope for us to improve and raise ourselves to international standards. If we want to get in
to the race for position, we need to let FDI have a fair play. But more important for ys right now is to tackle the internal
issues and clear off the debts for our airlines especially the case of Air India.
Just boosting for position and power doesn't show our capability, but we need to have substance to prove our
competence and efficiency. No doubt we have brains, we just need them to work together for our development. It us high
time to hold hands with each other and make our way to the top in the aviation industry

Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
PM Narendra Modi urged local masses to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi`s dream of Clean India. He launched the Swachh
Bharat Campaign at Rajpath in New Delhi. He called it as a paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal
Bahadur Shastri, on their birth anniversary. He urged people that it is the social responsibility of Indian citizens to
accomplish Gandhiji`s vision of Clean India by year 2019. He even said that the vision can only come true only when
125 crore people of India work for it. Let us share our views on the matter. Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Yes
• It is not wise to start thinking of the results first as it is said that perform actions without considering the results.
• PM Narendra Modi came on the streets to start the mission, and this step cannot be ignored by his many followers.
• PM initiated the chain by inviting nine public figures for campaign including Sachin Tendulkar, Shashi Tharoor, Mridula
Sinha, Baba Ramdev, Anil Ambani, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kamal Hasan, and the entire team of Tarak Mehta
ka Oolta Chashma.
• Gujarat, which was a destroyed state, after a series was natural disaster, was rebuilt by Narendra Modi, and he was
successful in making it a clean and prosperous state.
No
• Every task needs follow up and just one day working to fulfill the vision will not convert Swachh Bharat Campaign into
reality.
• The celebrities will also come for one day to promote the cause and will get busy with their schedules in future. It is the
same case with every person in India.
• The youngsters can only create hype on social media by sharing blogs, praising efforts of PM, and posting his pictures.
No one will take a broom and actually become a part of the movement.
• In a economy where inflation is rising, growth is slowing, jobs are declining, who has got the time to devote to such
campaigns.
• More than the cleaning drive, it is the people's attitude that needs a change. If we keep making our surroundings dirty,
we can never make India clean.
Conclusion
PM Narendra Modi is known for his actions. Whenever he starts a mission, gives everything to complete it. The
development of Gujarat is the finest example of his work. However, this time it is a big challenge where he needs to
change mentality of crores of people living in India. He has started well, and message is spreading well. It needs to be
continued by PM Modi by launching some or other form of measures to encourage the people for making the vision of
Swachh India a reality by 2019.

you don't actually need to pick up the broom and clean the roads...all that is required is that you dump your garbage in
the right place..u should become aware that munching those chips and then throwing the packet on road is no less than
crime.
and i don't think it takes much time.
our PM is a role model of many people in India, and since he is stressing on Swachh Bharat Campaign so much, so
people are following him enthusiastically.
So it all depends on us now ..whthr this campaign will be successful or not..the direction that we all needed is given to us
by our PM.
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?

The SUCCESS of this campaign ''Swachh Bharat" only depends upon people of India. It depends on us whether we take
it seriously or not. From my opinion if someone takes initiative for good reason we must support it rather doing nitpicking.
PM is a supervisor who is showing us correct way now its our will to follow him or not. No doubt if we want our country's
growth we will follow him.

we all know swachh bharat is the dream of mahatma gandhi. according to my point of view this campaign is sucessfull if
we consider these points
1. govt must have to include a cleaning program in whole education carriculam.
2.now in pamchayat as there is regular meeting raegarding panchayat development.there is must an agenda of cleaning
programme of panchayat.

The campaign initiatived by pm modi and followed by a great masses of is not only the dream of
M Gandhi insted of it should be the dream or every responsible citizen of India .As one of our frnd told that there is no
need to take broom or else bt the crying need is we need to change our mentalilty need to understand the sense of
responsbility that WE WILL MAKE INDIA CLEAN .

Friends, I Respect All Your Views
But, its my personal observation that...
On 2nd October, people participated in this campaign...
and, on the next day....
Same Thing Happened
People were throwing packets of chips on the road.
some were peeking... etc.
Change Should Come From Within...
It Is Not MODI Who Is Only Responsible...
Its Public Responsibility
We can Either Make This Campaign A Successful One,Or ............
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Deepa Kaushik 10-7-2014 04:23 AM
This discussion itself gives a pessimistic attitude towards the Campaign. It is the people of India who need to make this
campaign a success. The campaign was just an initiative taken by our PM to emphasize his thinking towards the matter.
It is a known fact that the public figure would not come on to the street every day to clean up the streets, and again it is
not their duty to clean up the streets. We have employed workers who need to care for the streets, but what people need
to do is understand their part of the duty.
It is the common man who throws garbage on the streets, who should have discarded the same on a dustbin ideally.
Isn‘t that the responsibility of every Indian citizen to perform their duties and responsibilities correctly before pointing
fingers on the government or anyone else? If the common man can come up and realize their own responsibilities, then
it would itself take this mission to a 90percent success rate.
PM has done the best that he can do. We cannot expect him to come on the streets with a broom daily to get people out
of their couch and make city clean. He is doing his part of the duties as a responsible citizen and as a person of authority
has shown the way to walk on for the others. Now, it is the duty of the public to realize their part of the responsibilities
and support and make this mission a success.
PM could have extended his good efforts in this direction by making some stringent rules and regulations to keep the
neighbourhood and society clean. Indians being nurtured on a stubborn platform, is difficult to get them on the tracks
without a legal or monetary check. This could have given an assurance to keep the common man on the right track. So,
provided we can have some regulations to keep the common man on to the track of cleanliness regime, we can have an
assured success of the Swachh Bharat Campaign.
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Sachin Agarwalla 10-8-2014 10:03 AM
Most people of India are not happy because they have lot of problems in their life like unemployment, inflation etc. If a
person is not happy why will he think of country? Also system is not developed. Suppose I want to through garbage in
dustbin instead of road but there is not nearby place to throw garbage. System needs to be developed. First we have to
make people of India happy then only we can request them to do something.

ACCORDING TO ME ATTITUDE IS IMPORTANT MORE THAN MOVEMENT.IF EVERYBODY REALIZE THEIR
RESPONSIBILITY NO NEED TO DO MOVEMENT N HOW MANY DAYS WILL RUN MOVEMENT? IT IS NOT ONLY
GOVT RESPONSIBILITY IT IS PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY ONLY PUBLIC MAKE THIS CAMPAIGN SUCCESSFUL.

It is indeed a sole responsibility of an individual to keep India clean ... Everything happens with a sincere start ...if we
really think that it is a good idea to follow wat pm modi has initiated then we must bring it by being an example to our
neighbourhood cos it is always true as per the saying "action speaks louder than words".
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Yogita 10-15-2014 05:13 AM
We all appreciated the initiative which PM Modi made on Mahatma Gandhi's Jayanti by cleaning the street of our
Capital. But, such initiatives were made and are carried on by the generations to come. What we need to realize is that it
is just an effort which we all are supposed to make as the citizen of this country to keep our country clean.
Having said that, I wouldn't hold back the responsibility of the government in this context. When i compare my country
with west, I admit that governments overseas have made stringent rules to keep their respective country clean.
As per the Survey conducted in 2010 comparing different states in India in terms of cleanliness, Chandigarh stood first.
Chandigarh stood first because it understands the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. If we can make one state
clean then we can built other Chandigarhs' through out the country.
At the end, I would like to conclude by saying that citizen of India and government should join hands and should work
out to keep this country clean. It just requires a continuous and consistent approach in achieving it..
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Lucky 10-16-2014 01:14 PM
In my opinion it is not the first time that an effort has been made to make India clean. The mission of PM Modi is a lot
bigger than preventing littering by a common man or to pick up broom on one fine day to clean our localities.
The scale of open defecation in India is huge with nearly 60 crore people defecating in open.Since the past mistakes
have not been rectified in this campaign,it is highly likely that the sum of over 2 lakh crores kept for this aspect would go
waste.
The percentage of money intended to be put towards behavioural change has been halved from previous scheme. This
itself shows that the govt is not keen on permanent change in this regard.
When there is lack of accountability for the polluting industries and the pollution control departments have merely
become parking space for sycophants there is little a common man can do with his small broom.
There is no doubt that making people understand their responsibility is a major import of this mission but this campaign
is actually not suggesting any solution by not focussing on the waste disposal and diverting our attention away from the
defunct municipalities of the country.
RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed?
Sumit Agarwal 10-17-2014 11:33 AM
Narendra Modi has taken a step of Swachha Bharat and this dream will come true only if all the people of India actively
take part in it. They don't need to take a broom and start cleaning the roads rather they should keep the environment
next to them clean. We should also try to stop the people who try to cause damage to the environment. Only then will the
vision of Swachha Bharat come true.

best...brooming on street routinely is nt possible bt we can follow the basic rules and regulation as nt to throw the chips
pockets on road or any garbage ..put the same in right place...only thing required to make this compaign successful is a
strong will and determination ...

Friends I Respect all your views..
This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of 'clean India' by 2nd October 2019,
i.e 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and is expected to cost over Rs 62,000 crore.
The campaign was described as "beyond politics" and "inspired by patriotism".
More than 3 million government employees and schools and colleges students of India are going to participate in this
event.
But according to our Indian Economy 62,000 crore rupees is a very huge money..
So Controlling of money is also important for successful completion of this event...

Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement
Prime Minister Modi has laid a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. In this direction, he launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
This movement envisages a clean India through participation of every Indian. A lot of suspicion prevails over the success
of this campaign, as many are arguing that until the attitude and mentality of people changes no campaign can clean
India. So, should government have launched a mass awareness mission to change the mentality prior to Swach Bharat
Abhiyan?
Yes:
-There will be no expected participation unless people‘s attitude towards cleanliness and its importance changes.
- Indians generally cares very less about hygiene. Most of them even spit where ever they want, as they are unaware of
the health implications. Their habit will not change unless they are aware.
-Workers indulge in cleaning jobs hardly gets any respect within the society. Most of them are from Scheduled casts.
Unless the mentality towards these workers and their job changes, we cannot expect the mass participation.
-People keep their home clean, but when it comes to surroundings like streets, parks etc. nobody cares because they
perceive it as the duty of government even though they themselves are responsible for throwing garbage and making
their surroundings dirty.
No:
-Launching this mission with active participation of PM, ministers and officials itself motivates citizens to participate.
-The mission highlights the importance of cleanliness very well and making them aware is an integral part for this
mission.
-The issue of cleanliness was not given enough priority during the last many decades. This campaign will prioritize this
issue.
-We cannot wait for changing mentalities and attitudes as burden of health diseases on the economy due to lack of
cleanliness is increasing.
-Most importantly, taking action for making India clean through this campaign itself is the first necessary step towards
realizing this dream.
Conclusion:
Making people aware is important, but more important is that this awareness is converted to actions. As government
itself has taken the initiative, this will definitely motivate people and make them realize that cleanliness is not just
government‘s responsibility. On its part government can introduce a separate awareness drive too, so that more and
more people join this campaign. Ultimately, these efforts will not only force people to change their attitude of ―nothing will
change‖ but also ensures their participation too.

Rakesh Mishra 10-4-2014 10:15 AM
Yes i agree that attitude is an important factor for consideration but if we do nothing and expect to change attitudes that
is not viable too..Individuals have their own attitude and its hard to change but not impossible..Mahatma Gandhi with his
mass movement could unite India and people united through out to fight for the freedom of India..Now with Mr PM
leading this clean India movement we can expect history repeating itself.. A positive Change in surrounding will create a
positive change in attitudes..
RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement
Dipak Singh 10-6-2014 05:35 AM
No,I strictly don't think that "The Attitude of Clean India" has a greater importance than its movement.
Just Think, what is the purpose of a man who only thinks and has a attitude towards cleaning India rather than taking
part. It's like that "Look I want my surroundings clean and clear but i won't indulge in cleaning that."
I think "Attitude of Making a Move for Cleaning India" will be more fruitful thought than the previous one.
Making a move will encourage others too.
RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement
megha 10-6-2014 12:15 PM
attitude have not changed from a long time. people are less interested in keeping their surrounding clean. they can just
comment how dirty this area is but wont take a step towards cleaning it. with this movement our PM have made a start to
wake people up and make them realize about their duty of keeping their surroundings clean. this movement will itself
bring about the change in attitude. along with that a follow up should also be there on various states for their
performance on cleanliness scale and bring about a competitive environment for a more swach desh.

about it. ... they think it is the work of our goverment but they donot know only goverment can not do anything without
help of the people of country. i think it is good programme started in india. by this conditions can change but when? only
when all the people put their step to clean and best india........!
RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement
Deepa Kaushik 10-7-2014 03:57 AM
Attitude change is definitely important to make and keep India clean, but all these require a spark, the initiative to start
the work from. Why can‘t we people take this mission as the start for the cleanliness process? Clean India Movement is
something that everyone wants from the soul of our heart, every one of us are aware that we are the ones who are
responsible for making our society and neighbourhood dirty and it is we who need to gather and put up efforts in
cleaning the area. Still, none of has made any effort to give it a try, may be due to our carelessness or over-
consciousness of our fake image in our society.
Clean India Movement is definitely a very good effort to make the mass participation. It is the way to convey the
message that not just the Government, but to keep the nation clean and hygienic, it requires a active and whole-hearted
participation by the citizens. It is a movement to make people realize their duty and responsibility towards our country. It
is not enough to make long speeches and when it comes to taking the responsibilities, just to point finger towards others.
It is high time to get on to the street and come to action.
In a country like India, where people have grown and been nurtured with adamant attitude and ruthless behaviour with
immense carelessness and total lack of duty consciousness, just movement is not enough to maintain the pace and
keep up the spirit of this working attitude. We require stringent laws like fine for the common area in the residential
places and offices which should be driven out of the pockets of the citizens responsible and the money should be utilised
for the cleaning purposes.
Attitude would not change on itself. It requires stringent rules and regulations to get people on to the track. We cannot
just dust our careless attitude by terming the awareness campaign. We are all aware of the fact that even the well-
educated and literate group hardly bother regarding the hygiene. Hence, rather than wasting time on discussing the
attitude change of the masses, we can ourselves start with the campaign and change our attitudes first. Clean India is
definitely an appreciable movement, which requires support and active participation instead of debates and discussions.

Degree or skill – what is more important?
Introduction
Degree and skill are two sides of the same coin. To succeed in the race of life, a person need to have a degree along
with the skill. A degree without the skill would be as empty as the skill without the degree. Both need to go hand-in-hand
in order to be the survival of the fittest. Degree is nothing but the certified documentation of the skill within the individual.
Every person having the skill may not manage to attain the degree. Similarly, every degree holder is not necessarily
skilled. The requirement of the degree or skill depends upon the organization, the nature of post etc. On a general
outlook, which criteria carries more weightage – the degree or the skill?
Degree
- Degree is an authenticate certificate that the person applying for the post is having the knowledge of the work
requirement and has the ability to manage the functioning and justify the post.
- Degree makes a person more confident in his approach and outlook. These things are an essential part of the
personality development.
- Degree can make a person more polite, humble and wiser. This could be in order to take charge of the job or to climb
the success ladder. But these things are difficult to manage without a degree in hand.
- A degree earns respect and social reputation. A person is assessed through his qualifications which is reflected by his
degree.
- Degree earns money and status for its master. The more specialised the degree, the higher the post and status and
higher is the salary package.
Skill
- Every degree holder is not necessarily skilled. It is the skill that helps to achieve the target and not the degree.
- Skill is an abstract term which cannot be evaluated on the bits of paper. It is a broad spectrum which is groomed within
the individual and nurtured through the repeated practical implications in life.
- It is not the degree but the skill that achieves success. A degree can just earn the job, but it cannot help to grow further
without the skill.
- It is skill which attracts the employers, clients and management which lifts or drops the person. Without the skill, the
person would not be able to catch hold the interest of their superiors and attain success.
- The great people from the history were all skilled people, but they didn‘t had the certifications for their knowledge.
ConclusionB
Degree is the theoretical evaluation of an abstract concept which is virtually not possible. It is the skill that
helps the person to grow up both materially / financially and immaterially with respect to the status, importance,
social respect and recognition etc. Degree definitely has its own importance, as a person need to have some
skill in order to achieve the degree. A complete dumb individual cannot qualify to attain the degree. Hence , we
can summarize by saying that the degree is the first step in the ladder of skills which leads to the success in
life.
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?
Teena Bhatia 09-11-2014 03:46 AM
Degree or skill, what is more important has always stayed a debatable issue. It started making all more noise as and
when Smriti Irani was appointed on the post of HRD ministry. However, it is important to understand that everyone don‘t
have skills to make it big without degree. Degree is just not a mere certificate but is an important achievement for
millions of people to get a living in their life.
Degree is the first base where the person gets the confidence to excel in life. The organizations and multinational
companies don‘t even consider a candidate profile with no degree. Skills alone don‘t make the individual an ideal
candidate for job. With competition rising every now and then, the candidates can have an edge over other by pursuing
higher education. And, it is after the degree, skills come into play. Degree is the first entry step and skill can be defined
as the passing step for any job profile. The education enables the candidates to sharpen their skills.
Coming to degree and skills, it is important to discuss one more aspect. There are two types of people. One who want to
be in jobs and the second group who want to become entrepreneurs. The candidates who want to become
entrepreneurs can always make it big without any degree. Dhirubhai Ambani is the finest example in this case. At the
same time, candidates who want to work on high-profile jobs have to pursue higher education and earn a degree. It also
stands true for the professions like architect, engineer and doctors.

Of course undoubtedly skill. It is very important to know what are the things you can do with efficiency and efficacy, than
simply getting the degree. The best composition will be skill +Qualifications.
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?

According to me skill is having more weightage than the degree .
I would like to take a example on this .. suppose a person is having a degree for certain skill . In every companies or for
any jobs the first criteria is to have skills suitable for that job . If the person is having the degree for that particular skill but
not the actual skill , gets selected for the job interview would not be able to crack the interview because at that time he
can't proof his skill . But if a person not having the degree but is having the skill and can proof it , then he/she only needs
a chance to proof it . Person having skill doesn't needs degree to proof that . His/Her work will be his best degree . We
can see the example of Cricketor harbhajan singh . He was chosen as the SUPRITENDENT OF POLICE in PUNJAB
although he was not having the degree for that but he was having skill to be given a respected post like that . So
according to me a piece of paper can't stop a person to get success in his/her life if the person is having the skill .

degree and skill both are two faces of same coin.. as it is very well known..but it is very much obvious that skill is more
important than degree...in this fast competitive world no one can trust on u that u are capable of that particular work or
not.. so to prove yourself that you re capable. u should have a particular area degree..
but more obvious that if u have a degree nt having any skill so u can't survive in that field,, as skill is first requirement
then degree
as world is changing day by day it wants professionalism, it wants a person that can be best for them ..they will only give
to chance them..so for this type of requirements every person should have skills with degree..
there wold be chances to get success wuthout degree.. but without skills u can't do anything in any field..
if i take an example in my field that is engineering..in this field to get entry u must have a degree to prove urself.. but
after getting degree if u dn't hae any skills then u will be out from this field immediately..

so skill is more important tha degree.. but both has its own importance... mainlt it can be said that to get success ur first
step would be degree and then command on ur skills.. then nobody can stop u to success.. to be successfulll

A person with no skill but with many degrees is of no usw. Any person must be skilled enough in particular fields to go
further.
Management people needs skillful employees not people with degrees.
According to me skill is more important.

kaliyugathu ayyan 09-15-2014 10:05 AM
My point of view about this GD is both skills and degree are important in life. because degree is a identity for u....Without
a degree we cant survive in the fastest world...But a degree cant make us to become a perfect man in the world...Most of
the top companies expected their employees are good in skills like communication skills, technical skill, etc,.But wthout a
degree we cant enter the company....Without a skillswe cat survive in the company....So both skills and degree are
important....
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?

i would like to say that both are really important.you can not get entry in companies without a degree n at the same time
if u dnt have skills in urself you will be fired from your company ..so degree is important but only with skills..
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?
kartik 09-16-2014 01:58 AM
friends first of all I would like to thanks teena bhatia to start the discussion on such a positive note. friends by my opinion
skills are more important as compared to degrees. I agree with my previous speakers degree also plays vital role In the
journey of success but skills plays a major role coz degrees can be easily bought from any institution, college, there N
no's of universities which provides distance learning education for ex. KSOU anyone of us can be the student this
university and can easily get the degree of 80% marks in any specialisation. but that is of no use coz in today's scenario
skilled person is always given first priority experienced person always get salute in every field whether it's private firm,
govt
firm only n only experienced one gets priority first as compared to degree holder.
friends these kind of degrees are of no use infact we can say it results in corruption, crime, unemployment, Illiteracy, n
many other aspects.
let's take an example of schools n colleges I have seen N no. of teachers holding well known degrees like MA, M.COM,
M PHIL but what do we usually found an English teacher holding MA in English unable to speak even a single word in
English and appointed as a teacher he is the one who spoils the life of many students this results in when a child grows
up he/she moves to well reputed firm he/she has good degree but unable to crack an interview for that particular post
and in most of the cases the one who has good political approach and a degree he/she gets a job easily and always a
talented one skilled person has to suffer which results in unemployment at end they prefer suicide as a one n only way
so this is my opinion skills are more important and skilled person should always given first priority
.

i ihink skill is more important than degree because with the help of degree a person can easily get a chance to sit in an
interview but it is his skill that helps him to grab the job.
a persons degree is futile if he doesn't posses the skills required.
a person having a degree it does not mean that he can solve problems of life it is skills that helps him to solve the
problems for me degree is just a paper nothing more than that but skill is that thing which cannot be evaluated on paper.

According to me in current scenario degree and skill both are important. One cannot succeed without taking other in this
competitive world. If one does not have the degree he/she cannot enter in any organisation and the same time skills also
helps the person to attain a position in organisation like his communication and technical skills. Both helps to grow
financially ,personally. But skill contributes major role in ones achievement and growth in life.

RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?
Tanu 09-25-2014 10:17 AM
friends what I have found in my "degree" experience is that. Degree and skill both plays equal role to your career.
Degree with good marks and skill are the things one requires to be successful. But skill n degree from any distance
learning program, which some of my friends has quoted, will also be a good option for a person who has no choice.
As degrees which are acquired by some renouned institute for a skillful person would not be a children's play, As if we
look into the actual scenario degree needs focus at the time of exams and fully preparedness according to that exam,
but skill demands from you to focus on extra co curricular activity which require commitment and many a time you may
ended up with ruining your marks because you remain busy in ur co-curricular which means ruining ur degree due to
your skill. if you are unable to control ur urge to go for ur passion and don't focus on exams which is a totally different
task, then you are gone.
So this discussion will go on and on, acquiring knowledge with degree is also challanging.
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?
Rajat Kushwah 09-26-2014 08:00 AM
according to me degree and skill both are important now-a-days..
since degree is the alibi of your skill.degree is the echelon of your ability and on the other hand skill is necessity of
survival in this competitive world.although skill is the only thing which tryst the you from your endeavor.
RE: Degree or skill – what is more important?
ashwini 09-26-2014 10:00 AM
here i would also like to share my point of view. i agree with all my friends skill is as important as degree and viceversa.
without skill nobody can survive, that too being in this 21st century in the competative world. it is the skill which is
required to handle all tidious situation. but when it comes to job it is the degree which is the foremost criteria.if u have the
degree u r aallowed to take part in interview and after that it is based on our skills how we get through the interview. so i
hereby conclude that skilled person can show is skill if he has degree has the token.

Love marriage vs Arrange marriage - Which one is better?
Marriage is a very important social institution. Every individual wants to have a perfect match, but the criteria for
choosing the partner is different. In love marriages, individuals prefer to choose their partners on their own, while in case
of arrange marriages individuals prefers partners chosen by their family or parents. There is a continuous debate
regarding the best way to choose the partner for marriage. Let‘s analyze which one of the two is better.
Love marriage
- Both individuals know each other already and mutually decide to spend the whole life with each other.
-Couple is responsible for its choice and onus of the blame in future lies on the couple only and nobody else.
-Couple is aware of each other‘s likes and dislikes. Therefore they will get along well.
-Couple can eradicate social evil like dowry with their mutual consent because they have the independence to take such
decisions at their own level.
-The culture of the extravagant spending too can be curbed by the understanding between the couple.
Arrange marriage:
-Arrange Marriage is not a contract between two individuals alone but a confluence of two families.
-Two families involved in arrange marriages know each other very well and are compatible with each other.
-Because there are more people involved in arrange marriage, the conflict between the couple will be effectively
resolved or mitigated.
-Couple is guided by parents experience whereas in love marriage couple is unknown about the future complexities in
life and lacks this experience.
Conclusion:
Both ways have their merits as well as demerits and marriage is a decision of lifetime. Though families are involved in
most of the marriages, it‘s the couple which has to live together for lifetime. So, the decision to choose life partner should
be left to the individuals. Ultimately no one can certify the best way for a perfect marriage life because like life marriages
too are full of uncertainties.
RE: Love marriage vs Arrange marriage - Which one is better?
Deepa Kaushik 10-16-2014 10:07 AM
Marriage is a unique bond between two people that in turn unites two different families. Marriage has a different
definition for everyone. But this bond gets strengthened by trust, beief, understanding, feeling of oneness, own-ness
along with the usual potion of love, romance and affection. Love and arranged marriage both differs from the root.
Love marriage is better when the two individuals know each other in their true sense instead of projecting only their
positives. Understanding each other well would be the basis of the victory of this love marriage. Coming on to the
question whether every couple in love dare to share their intricate self prior to marriage is still doubtful. It is a normal
human tendency to project our positives to impress others. And when our mind is attracted towards someone, we do
tend to show all our good notes to get that person's attention. This is why many love marriages ends up in vain.
Talking of arranged marriage, the couples make up their mind a bit to compromise in case of arranged marriage. Unlike
love marriage, couples adapt better to rach other's family in arranged marriage. With the changing trend, even the
arranged marriages have evolved and couples take time between engagement and marriage to know and understand
each other. This has its own pros and cons. Couples might take time to understand each other's family requirements and
commitments. This could help them evolve easily with the new life. Conversely, the same time could break a marriage if
they feel incompatible. Though our society finds breaking marriage as a bad omen, still it is lot better than a unpleasant
married life giving sorrow for the entire life of couples.
Closely analysing, it is the adaptability and expectations of couples and their ability to adjust and compromise to the
situation that makes or breaks a marriage. This could be equally possible in both love and arranged marriage. We can
have one additive point in majority of the arranged marriages that the family comes to help and bonding the couples with
integrity in case of any mis-happening or trouble in the married life. Precisely, rather than calling the love or arranged
marriage better, we should appreciate every couple who are striving hard every moment to turn their marriage to a
complete success

In my opinion, love marriage is better than arranged one, because you yourself choose your partner and absolutely know
each others very well.we can deal with problemes in the lifebetter with love ,likewise neglect some of them for the sake
of love.before marriage ,you know is the one who you want to live with the rest of your life.but in my country ,it,s not like
this.

Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world?
Introduction
The combination of beauty and brain is not very common. The one who has got both brain and beauty is by far the most
lucky person on earth. Every person has his own strengths and weaknesses, and the good traits definitely speak out in
some or the other way. A beautiful person with his wrong deeds cannot excel; similarly a ugly person with a beautiful
soul struggles throughout his life to prove himself. When we come to the discussion who can rule the world – beauty or
brain, there come a plenty of points both in favour and against the notion. Let us discuss a few of them.
Beauty
- Let us start with the saying ―True beauty lies in the eyes of its beholder‖. The beauty which holds the eyes of the one
who perceives, rules the entire globe with its attraction.
- Beauty paves a faster way to success with its charm and charisma.
- Brain without beauty finds it difficult to withstand the initial phase of interaction, as ‗the first impression is the last
impression‘.
- Beauty not only implies the external look but also the inner beauty of the soul. The Inner beauty remarks the refined
thought and soul which could win millions of hearts.
- Inner beauty is the requirement for the ‗higher purpose of existence and survival‘. It is the internal beauty of the soul
which helps in the self-growth and development of the society.
- Beauty implies captivity, and the world today follows the appearance and the external looks.
- We call women to be the most beautiful creation of God, and by far the women have a strong say worldwide which
implies that the beauty is ruling the world.
No
- Brain is ultimate. Beauty would fade away with time, but brain is eternal and it gets polished and shines more with time
and increasing age.
- Beauty can glow only if the person has good luck, conversely brain has the capacity to mould and shape the fortune
and win the hearts.
- The adverse times being the right ones to judge; the brain shines like a diamond and paves its way out from the difficult
situation, however, the beauty gets tugged up into the trouble.
- Beauty is God‘s creation which cannot be made better, whereas, brain can be developed through human efforts and
gaining worldly knowledge. The true efforts definitely succeed and rule the world.
- Brain has the capacity to retain career and gain recognition. Brain retains the relationships and knits the world into a
single entity.
- Beauty might not be there with the brainy, but brain is present in every human in varying capacity. Even not so beautiful
people may possess a sharp intellect and the capacity to rule the world, but a beautiful brainless idiot cannot even stand
up in the race of life.
- Even the beauty contests like Miss World and Miss Universe are won on the basis of their intellect and not the beauty
alone.
Conclusion
Beauty and brain is undoubtedly an unique and nice combination to excel in the life arena. When coming to the debate,
the brain has an upper say over beauty. The inner beauty of the person is very close to the brainy, but the external looks
alone cannot excel in life. Brain undoubtedly has the strong domination to rule the world in comparison to the external
outlook and beauty.
RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world?
Teena Bhatia 08-15-2014 04:24 PM
Beauty or brain, the answer to the question is simple. It is the brain that has and that will always rule the world. Talking
about beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is considered as one of the most beautiful ladies in the world, also must
have remained back in the race, if she had made her decisions wrong. She was successful because brains
accompanied her beauty every time.
It is a simple fact. Beauty cannot win alone. It needs the support of brain to make a place in the world. Brain is not about
the big degrees but it is more about making the right choices in life. However, it is the different case with brains. A
person who has got brains can find a solution in every problem. Brain doesn‘t needs the support of beauty to win the
competitive race. Look around and see the richest people around you, they are the people with brains.
In the present world, if the person has brains and is successful, it is possible to buy beauty in the form of facial surgery.
But no medical treatment or surgery can make a beautiful person intelligent. Hence, in the matter undisputedly brain is
better than the beauty.

Differentiation of people on the basis of looks is a very random ritual, threatning on the verge of being accepted as
normal.
Its as if how a person looks is the ultimate yardstick. You see a pretty face talking to you and you convince yourself of an
abstract goodness!!!!
Nothing can be more uglier than a person with a twisted mind and an obnoxious heart, who serve no other purpose but
being another blot in the name of Humans.

beauty and brain are really a rare combination but the of one has either of them also or both with some blending ratio
then also they are winning over hearts and ruling over their fields of interests as in their own ways not to mention about
the models and the prodigies who make their mark and are unrivalled till date

RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world?
Ravi Gupta 10-12-2014 09:46 AM
In my point of view beauty and brain both are needed to rule in the world. As we can see beauty makes the first look of
the person. every person first attracted towards the outer beauty i.e. physical beauty then he realizes the inner beauty.
inner beauty represents its attitude and behavior towards the life, brain has the capacity how to deal with the problem
and how to take the right decision.
RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world?
sahar 10-21-2014 03:26 PM
I think.brain can more rule the world than beauty.because we make the world with our thoughts and attitude.first we think
how to improve our world and have a beter life.which thoughts can help the world not beauty.

High attrition rate: a bad news or good news for India?
A survey showed that India has the highest attrition rate in comparison to other countries of the world.
In India, 35 per cent of the workforce has term of less than two years compared to the western markets
where it is 15 per cent. Harnessing talents is one of the most vital challenges faced by organizations of IT
and telecom sector mostly, along with most of the private companies as well as the government
organizations. Youth is in constant hunt for new and better opportunities that would boost their talent
and forfeit better than the current one. The question arises whether high attribution rate in India is a
negative thing or positive news.
Bad:
1. Company’s loss: Employees who are talented and have proved to be a boon for the company
definitely knows his work well. If they resign from their position, the company will have to look for a
new employee to fill the space and there is absolutely no guarantee that the hunt will yield desired
result. It might take time to find a suitable employee with the desired profile and even if it succeeds in
finding one, training and some experience that develops over time shall be needed and all this while, the
company might have to compromise in terms of yield.
2. Increased cost: Over the time, employees who have spent more than 2 years in a company knows
their work well and doesn’t need much help with their core. When new employees are hired, it
automatically increases the expenses of the organization towards training, recruitment and selection
costs, possible product/service quality problems, cost of temporary staff, etc.
3. Dissatisfactory working conditions: Increase in attrition rate signifies that the employees of those
organizations are not happy with the working conditions, or present remuneration, or perhaps they do
not see a scope for development in their current position. Companies must make efforts to retain its
employees so that they could concentrate on strategies for increasing their yield instead of allotting the
same work to different employees in every two year.
4. Switching job dilemma: When employees give in their 100% and do not see their efforts being
rewarded with incentives and awards, they opt for switching job which is neither good for the individual
or for the organization. After working for years in a company, the employees not only get professionally
attached to the organization but also develop an emotional synchronization it. Though youth seeks
better opportunities, but at one time they would want to be stable part of an organization.
5. Growth depends on employees: The growth of an organization depends greatly on its employees and
that is why we say that employees are the biggest asset of an organization. Only if an organization takes
care of the needs and gives them the right importance, then the employees will be satisfied with their
job and that would lead to more efforts towards the benefit of the organization.
Good:
1. Better market: Attrition is seen as a quality of a recovering market, indicative of better job
opportunities and better compensation along with growth of individual profiles. Some people are of the
view that when employees want to stick to their present job even when they are not completely
satisfied with the working condition, then the nation is a state of recession.
2. Experimenting with skills: High attrition rate also shows that individuals in India are keen in trying
their hands at various skills instead of sticking to their domain of expertise which becomes monotonous
after sometime. People do leave the jobs where they were paid well to do things they always wanted to
do – maybe a dream career they wanted to pursue. It is time when India is witnessing engineers turned
writers and economist turned chef.
3. More space for freshers: High attrition rate is one of the reasons why a fresher out of college does
not need to strive to find his/her first job. Experienced individuals switching jobs for better
opportunities gives openings to these newcomers who would otherwise struggle to find a good job.
Conclusion:
Though high attrition rate has some plus points, yet for the growth and development of the economy of
a nation, retention of talented employees is very important. Intellectuals switching jobs are not only
finding better openings in India but also abroad. India needs its young employee to develop a better
economic state. Instead of solely focusing on the profits of the company, they need to understand and
value the interests of the employees.

Celebrities should be welcomed in politics.
For
- They attract a mass following and can sway public opinion in the right direction.
- The celebrities have been successful in their respective field and have the right ethics required being successful in
politics.
- Celebrities can do a lot for the welfare of the people as they also live in amongst the common people.
- They have the power to persuade or convince the majority to work in favor of development of the country.
- They have a huge fan following which only makes it easier for them to operate.
Against
- Whether it is Govinda or any other actor for that matter, no one‘s attendance has been up to the mark in parliament.
- No one has really raised a particular issue, which has worked in the favor of the nation.
- If you were to analyze the achievements of the actors present in politics, it has been close to negligible.
- They are already so engrossed in their lives, that it has been seen over the years that they don‘t have the political mind
frame to perform in politics.
RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics.
Shreyan 11-26-2012 12:36 AM
Not the celebrities, but the specialized ones should welcomed to the politics. Yes! In that case if any celebrity is
specialized in any one he/she should mostly welcomed, otherwise the situation may like this, today who is coal minister
tomorrow he will become education minister, no matter what the department is. The talkings may sound harsh, but it is
the only reality that in India, nowadays the ministers are only to loot the departments not to look after. whatever it may be
coal or education? only material will change from coal to books..!
But what the celebrities will do? Is the parliament house is a theater hall to show the drama on aam-aadmis harassment
and poverty in India? The man become change but the chair remains same. Only the outburst of power.
Every minister and ministry should take oath before they sit on the chair of their dept. own, any any one line of the oath if
they make in real the present situation of India will change in near future; whatever it any celebrities or any other citizens
of our country. By whom they are in power they must know how to serve them, not only before the vote but also the five
year long.. If not, throw them out of chair!
RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics.
sushma 11-27-2012 08:33 AM
according to me if minister is agud person then that place haveto come becoz they have more money to help poor peple
n by coopetate each other they shoud make a gud life for all.some celebryty are gud n some are not .some celibrity are
looking for ther publicity only they have no realy heart tu attend nice thing.n some are realy like to help like salman khan
he is realy nice man. at last woud like to say if our political peple become gud n truth man n protecting our nation from
every thing then every one have to join that realy works.
RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics.
Ritika mehrotra 08-18-2014 11:08 AM
From my point of view celebrities shouldn't be allowed for coming in politics.the reason behind is that one person can be
good only in one field they can't focus on the both at the same time and they have no knowledge regarding this. They win
the elections only on their fame but they come only to gather more fame .As we can take example of satrughan sinah he
entered in politics when his bollywood career has completed .Politics is not as a call center that any one can come for a
part time job.

Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal ?
In the ever-changing world, the one thing that people still can‘t accept openly is losing the virginity before marriage. It is
a sensitive topic especially in the regions where people are more attached with their culture and values. It is true for the
countries like India where even love marriages or live in relationships are not accepted easily. Even the teenagers
especially girls consider it to be big and cathartic event of life. The matter gets really serious and intense at times. Are
you one of those people? Do you really thing losing virginity before marriage is a big deal?
Yes
• In this world, every that thing that cannot be regained after it‘s lost is considered as invaluable and precious.
• Virginity is not about sharing a physical relationship with other but it is more about sharing trust and belongingness with
other.
• The first time early mistakes done in the teenage can prove costly for lifetime. Sometimes damages are irreversible.
• In the country like India where women are considered as God, virginity becomes a certificate of character for them.
• When it comes to girls, it doesn‘t get over in a short time but leads to deeper emotional consequences afterwards.
No
• People have a habit to make haste out of waste, and when something has to happen at sometime, then why to make a
fuss out of it.
• Getting intimate with any person is a matter of choice and cannot be confined to the defined limits.
• Character cannot be judged on the basis of virginity. If that had been the case, most of the guys should be proved
characterless.
• Whenever virginity is talked about it is confined to women, if men are not bounded with the terms, why should women
be?
• Virginity has nothing to do with the long term relationships or commitment. If it had been the case, most of the arranged
marriages must have been successful.
Conclusion
Since ages, people are following the concept that virginity is the gift from the two partners after their marriage. However,
in the present world, the concept is changing. It is more of a personal preference and choice what the partners want. The
only thing is that the decision should be made with due consideration. In any case, it should not hinder the happiness
and peace of your life.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
Deepa Kaushik 07-15-2014 11:19 AM
Virginity is definitely a special feature which makes marriage a strong bonding and ever-lasting relationship. Though
countries like India tag virginity to the character of only women, but it is not so. Virginity is neither a synonym for
character, nor is it a characteristic feature for women.
A girl sexually assaulted and raped might lose her virginity, but that doesn‘t define her bad character. Character should
be defined by the person‘s thinking, mindset and execution of their behaviour; not by their physical relationship which is
not necessarily by their own will. Again if we talk of virginity, then we also need to include the males in this sphere.
Virginity before marriage is special as it carries a sense of own-ness, trust, understanding and mutual sharing
relationship. All these creates a thrill and makes the awaited marriage more excited. But that does not mean that losing
virginity in terms of re-marriage for widows or divorcee is an offence or a characterless act. Those are equally
respectable in the practical living, as making a person live their life instead of killing them alive is much more than the
demand for virginity. Thus, precisely speaking, virginity is just a fascinating feature for marriage, but losing the same
accidentally doesn‘t make a big deal.

After going through the views of earlier views on the topic I do feel that losing verginity before marriage be considered as
big deal. Since in the elite society of india where women is treated as mark of respect there this type of act can not be
tolerated at all. Moreoverall to control on the emotions and sexully need is also important for a girl that she should not
knowingly cross her limits just due to fascination towards any one rather she should enjoy the life but giving up or losing
ones virginity on the step of teenage is seems to be carelessness of a girl. At last I would like to submitted that there
should be a feeling for would be partner so that at any stage whenever there was a question comes before anyone
about virginity she can confidently reply and won the trust of her husband. Otherwise there are no of examples that a
mistake committed in past become perilious in future.

I'm totally agree to miss Deepa. She gave very nice examples.
I have the same thinking..... I think virginity is not a certificate of purity of love or anything else.
If you love someone then it would come in your nature and your behavior too otherwise everybody in this world are
playing a role and one can play that very well.

According to my path virginity before marriage is not ah right think in india.Because indian culture is not like that as per
indian culture and religion it is wrong..But by losting virginity it doesnt shows the character of the girl ..they can lost their
virgnity by sexual harshment or by getging raped .So we cant decide once character by these .The persons character is
judged only by the way of behaving, intracting and politeness. So i dnt think losing virgnity before marriage is not ah big
problem ..

i think losing virginity before marraige is big deal because women is deep thinker...if she lost her virginity before
marraige then she cant live happy after marraige....rather this thing might be permit her to live happy......and if we are
talking about widow then she have right to marry but that time her husbands know that she lost her virginity....and she is
acceptable from him...but not in case of newly married girl...
but its my opinion

Many girls who are teens have lost it so i think it really dosent matter now days, well almost all guys have lost it to at a
young age i think it isnt a problem to loose your virginity before marriage.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
rahul 07-24-2014 02:23 AM
yeah ofcourse losing virginity before marraige is a big deal as the people are not sure wheather they will be living with
the person in the future or not.in some people it could also become a drug as they will be getting used to it so they
should avoid this to be done as it could hamper their future life.if the partners could'nt get married then it could also lead
to problem further in their future as they could'nt get completely comfortable with the other person after their marraige.
so in view this should be avoided by people so as to get a proper future
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal

i think it's a big deal b'coz the girl conveyed to her husband that she loose her verginity then what guaranty her husbund

Loosing virginity before marriage cant b d parameter in evaluating the character of a girl, that is true.
But, as far as INDIA's culture is concerned, Girls sud be careful towards their virginity cos once it is gone means gone
for the rest of her life.
IN INDIA, our men r possessive by nature unlike the developed countries.
So here girl's virginity becomes a sensitive matter. So now it comes to on which circumstances a girl loses her virginity.
Okay, girls don't reveal these secret things, bt the girl her self knows the truth. so they sud not do it just for fun or to
experience d unknown.
Even their parents wont b happy with these decisions. So I think it is a big deal.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
chenna 07-24-2014 02:14 PM
losing virginity is a big deal because when a person married a girl he worried about whether she is virgin r not ,same
expectation is from her side so losing virginity is important for both male and female .
now a days most younger generation are interested have a sex with their partners before the marriage if boy is not a
virgin then it is not a problem but if a girl is not a virgin everyone in the world think that her character is bad exceptional
in some cases . (rape, widow, sexual harasement ).so my advice is please dont loose virginity before marriage.if ur not
virgin u should except the same from ur partner.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
neeraj agarwal 08-20-2014 12:28 PM
once boy and girl fall in love than they attracted to each other and it happens sometime that it lead to physical
relationship but due to some circumstances or resulted of ditch for either side it resulted in break up so it doesn't matter
much whether some one is virgin or not matters is whether he or she is fair with other after marriage or not in short
"present' matters not past that resulted in losing virginity.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
Abhishek 08-22-2014 03:51 PM
In our country virginity certificate is only bounded by women, which is should not be acceptable at all. Girls are not the
one who got intimated towards boys, rather males are also equally responsible for this. Then why should girls being
accused all the time for this? People of our country have to change their view on this.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
Rakesh 08-23-2014 06:41 AM
In a country like India when one wants to marry he/she always want his /her partner a virgin .Its an expectation of
everyone to get a virgin partner as wife/husband .so after marriage when one knows that his partner is not a virgin he
may get disappointed and it may create misunderstandings in their marriage life .So according to my point of view its not
acceptable to loose virginity before marriage only for fun and test an unknown...
and in case of widows the other partner knows everything so he wont have any expectation of virginity but in normal
case its not acceptable in country like India
but virginity cant be character certificate for females its a wrong thing coz some might loose their virginity accidentally
But in normal case its not acceptable in a country like India where the relation establish on trust and faith....

India is a growing country. and our peoples are becoming more forward as compare to 20th century, so i think losing
virginity is not a big deal for a relationship. today, world looks for forward not backward. relation is based on just trust.
and secondly today 30% of youth of our country lives live in relationship so, think positive.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal

hi.....
@Sunil ; am completely agree with your idea. I don't think losing virginity before marriage is big deal. As we all know
generally nobody really wants to lose it. But you know It happens due to some closeness with the partner. You can take
an example for your colleague and also your life. You can see maximum your friend including yourself fell in love with
someone. And now a days its very common sex in love and its very less in number among them who are getting
married. Its very hard to believe but true . My friend @DIbyesh I don't think am agree with your idea. Let me tell you I
have seen so many guys who had sex with their X-gf but they always expect their wife must be virgin.I don't understand
the mentality of such people till yet ,how can they expect such things from others , you know Its unbelievable. May be
you have heard a line .. "Aap kare to raas lila aur hum kare to character dhila ." One more thing my friends as you told in
country like India, it shouldn't be allowed but my dear friend you are that person who is living in this country. So
according to me we should not bother that much about virginity or not. We should change our mentality and trust our
partner and accept the fact that it was past and accept the way they are in the past. Enjoy the life. THanks ~
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
prithwiraj 08-26-2014 09:25 AM
I have read the opinions of all of above but still i say that it is a big deal. Off-course if we suppose for a minute its not a
big thing or precious thing for peoples than what about the teenagers they only loose it for their entertainment specially
girls they do these all and all for their love for their trust. Is it the only thing that makes trust on love partners.
They only thinks that its like a game but i will say that its not like so. If anyone can use these all for their entertainment or
making trust for their partner then off course their is no difference between a prostitute and these type of peoples.
What about the prostitutes why peoples saw them as a garbage of the environment or our locality. Its always a big deal
and it defines the character of the personality and it preserves relationship after marriage otherwise sometimes it creates
too much problems in arrange marriage life.
RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal
Ankita 08-26-2014 10:14 AM
I think it is a big deal to lose virginity before marriage , but of course it does not defines the character of the person
(male/female).If we like a person of course we want to have physical relationship with that person, want all of their firsts
,so one should not lose ones virginity out of curiosity and for fun.
When it comes to marriage it is the trust that matters and not virginity.

Politicians must a have retirement age
Introduction
Every profession has a retirement age, but there are a few exceptions and one of the them is surely politics. There is a
reason for having retirement age in every profession - after a certain age ones efficiency is considered to reduce and it is
time for him/her to retire from work & enjoy the remaining life in peace. It is also essential as young need employments
and one of the ways to provide for this is by filling in the vacancies due to retirement. But when it comes to the rule
makers, no retirement age seems to apply. A recent suggestion by a senior congress party leader Janardhan Dwivedi
that politicians must retire from active politics post age 70 has started a debate. So, what do you think? Should there be
a retirement age in politics as well like any other profession?
For
- We need young people to take up senior positions in political arena, which is only possible when elders leave active
participation in politics.
- Politicians are also human beings, and after a certain age they are also prone to age related issues and thus for the
same reason as there is a retirement age in other employment there should be one for politicians
- Whilst senior politicians would have valuable knowledge & experience, generally they have a more conventional
approach which acts as a barrier to new thoughts & ideas
- Ideally, the retirement age should not be set very high i.e 70 but should be more in line with retirement age set for other
employment (age 60), and where a politician is considered as a valuable mentor he/she could be involved as a
consultant but not put directly in power.
- We have seen enough family dynasty in Indian politics and do not need any individual to hold power until the next kin is
ready to take up the position.
- Having a set retirement age for politicians would also ensure that a person knows that his reign of power would end at
a definite point of time and he may have to answer for any misappropriation sooner rather than later.
Against
- Politicians are representatives of the public, and assume public office. In reality they are public servants in service as
long as the public considers them as suitable.
- If the public does not think they are suitable to perform required duties due to their age, then they would not elect them
as their representative in rajya/lok sabha elections
- Over the years, politician acquire great knowledge & experience, which can‘t be easily replaced
- Politicians also play an important role in maintaining diplomatic relationships which may be impacted by their
retirement, and their successor may not be as successful
- Younger people in the party who lack legislative & administrative experience would need hand holding & direction, this
would be difficult without the knowledge & experience of veteran politicians.
- Loosing senior politicians may also impact on public acceptability of the political party, as there is a element of
individual trust and goodwill involved.
Conclusion
Senior politicians have a wealth of knowledge & experience, which is essential for the role but in order to ensure that one
does not remain in seat of power indefinitely & young people are able to take key positions in political arena, thus
contribution fresh ideas and new perspective, it is essential that politicians also retire at a predetermined age.
RE: Politicians must a have retirement age
Vishal Vishwanathan 09-1-2014 12:30 PM
Like every government job, there has to be a retirement age for politicians. After certain age efficiency will decrease
gradually, its a common factor. They should move out for providing opportunity for youngsters. This things are followed
in every organization, why not in politics. The main reason why politicians are not ready to move out of active politics is
their greed towards politics and there may be few who are corrupted. They are always able to influence the
administration of the state in every age. This cannot be offered by other jobs. The aged politicians can move out of
politics like contesting in elections, their experience can be utilized by the political party to guide the party in the right
direction.
RE: Politicians must a have retirement age
Rahul pandey 09-1-2014 11:43 PM
The legacy and profound knowledge of the elder politicians cannot be denied.but on the other hand the vigour, mental
activeness, participation in active politics goes hard for them.accordingly they must be given a back seat to advice and
mentor the young naives and contribute indirectly in politics.as we cannot afford to loose the granular ideas and term
them listless in any case.
RE: Politicians must a have retirement age
Teena Bhatia 09-2-2014 01:03 PM
There is one bitter truth about politics in democracy, and it is that the citizens of nation have the power to determine who
will rule the nation. The politicians should have a retirement age is an irrelevant discussion until and unless the citizens
demand it. In fact, till this time, there has never been a major issue connected with the retirement age of politicians.
Moreover, the selection of politicians depends on two important factors:
• Experience and expertise: It is said old is gold, and the adage stands completely true in politics. Experienced politicians
are an asset to the nation who has got the knowledge and expertise to solve the greatest of problems. Let us take the
example of Mahatma Gandhi. He was not a politician but he fought for his country and got the freedom when he has
crossed the so called age limit of retirement. Also, we should consider the progress of Kerala which has got some of the
oldest legislators and is still doing better than other states.
• Character: The next important factor that should determine the tenure of politicians is the character. A strong character
politician with no corruption record cannot be removed from the system. Such politicians are an asset to the country and
age cannot stop them from working for the nation.

increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – to
gain knowledge or a lust for fame and money?
Introduction
The Television industry is currently featuring the Season 8 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. There were many other
programmes on the same lines which were presented on various channels, but this very first one has stolen the hearts of
the millions of Indians. The charm of Amitabh Bachchan had captivated the people of all age groups. No other similar
programme could match or patch up to compete the level of this game show. This game has knowledge, entertainment,
rewards and more importantly the chance of getting famous and meeting the millennium star. Though there are a lot
many reasons for this show getting back every year reaching up till Season 8, what could be the actual reason of the
increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – to gain knowledge or a lust for fame and money?
Knowledge
- The programme has a rich collection of questions which definitely increases the intelligence.
- Majority of the audience being the once sitting at their home to pass their time only have motive to gain knowledge
while wtching this programme every day.
-The show has a bizzare collection of questions which covers the people of different intellectual levels.
- The knowledge and talent of the host is the key reason to keep up the viewer strength. The Television programme
rating of this programme is maintained at the best level due to the knowledgeable presentation by the Millennium Star.
- The programme not only covers the ones sitting at the arena, but keeps the audience at the theatre, the near and dear
ones of the participants and the audience at home into the loop with an alertness. They have the questionnaire for
everyone to participate and be a part of the programme.
Fame and Money
- It is more importantly the money, the cash prize that attracts people towards this programme. Winning a crore by
answering a mere set of few questions could be a golden opportunity.
- The next most captivating point being the host himself, Amitabh Bachchan, the millenium star. Many people participate
just to see and converse with a star of great repute.
- The knowledge that the anchor shares is all the learnt for the show and nothing is real in the show.
- A person gets famous in his circle just by getting to the ‗hot seat‘.
- The audience at home are also given the chance to win the rewards by answering the questions. Hence they get glued
up to the programme just in the lure for money.
Conclusion
Kaun Banega Crorepati, the title itself re-iterates "the game of money". The present generation is more towards gaining
easy money rather than looking out to shape their intellect. The programme not only provides general awareness but
also tests the presence of mind of the individual into action. The people definitely are more attracted towards money,
though we cannot categorise everyone under single head. The tendency and aptitude to gain knowledge is equally
found among the people sitting in front of the television every day.
RE: Increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – knowledge or money?
Teena Bhatia 09-5-2014 03:55 AM
There is no doubt that all the seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati have generated a huge success. No sequels of other
shows have received such great heights every time with every season. And again the show is back to recreate the magic
on television fans.
KBC gains its popularity from a number of factors. It is a game of knowledge where people earn knowledge and money
through fun. It is the uniqueness of show. The show cannot be restricted in the boundaries of knowledge or money. It is
much more than that. It is the platform which allows people to make their dreams come true. They have to use their
knowledge to make money. So, how knowledge and money can be separated from each other? In all ways, they can be
called two banks of river which are parallel to each other but still walk together to achieve its goal.
Apart from knowledge and money, it is the message that show spreads make it popular. The tagline of show is 'Koi Bhi
Insaan Chhota Nahin Hota'. It allows all the people from all the groups from all the races to come and become a part of
show. The people from the most backward places come and ahead to use the opportunity and space. It is the magic of
Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Also, this season, the show has started with a new message of eliminating racism and alienation linked with the North
Eastern states. The promo of Kohima made a significant impact on the viewers. So, the fact is the way it connects with
common man makes it popular in the nation.

People who commit suicide are weak and selfish.
Often when people commit suicide, people keep on criticizing the person. They call the person as a coward who ran
away from his life. Life has its ups and downs, and some people for some or other reason commit suicide. These people
get new names after their death like timid, coward, and also selfish people who committed the act without thinking of the
people behind. Do you agree with the statement? Are people who commit suicide are weak and selfish?
Yes
• People who commit suicide loose their emotional intelligence and gets emotionally weak, and hence take the wrong
step.
• There are many people who are handicap or have got some physical problem. They commit suicide because they are
physically weak.
• In the life itself, people walk on self-suicidal path as they take drugs, they accept the defeats against their self-suicidal
habits.
• In life, one important thing that everyone needs is money. When people are unable to earn money for livelihood they
find it better to end their life. This is again their weakness.
• Leaving the family behind without even thinking about them and ending own miseries are certainly a selfish act.
No
• Talking of the brain, the human brain don‘t allow a person to commit suicide, but if anyone can beat that instinct and
ends the life, certainly the person is not weak.
• The people who commit suicide are not weak; they just lacked the required support from their family and friends and
took the step.
• Think about just making one cut on the body and you will feel scared but the people who opt for suicide end their life.
How can they be weak as it takes courage to die?
• All the people on this earth have got their own limit of tolerance and endurance to fight with the miseries, so when they
have tried everything, they commit suicide. They fight till end, and fighters are not weak.
• The people who commit suicide cannot be called selfish as they took the wrong step because the people in their life
acted selfish and didn‘t provide support at the crucial time.
Conclusion
Human birth is a precious gift given by the God and it cannot be ended like this. In the world, there are equal shares of
joys and sorrows. There are times when it will seem that it is better to end the life but then think of the other people who
have got more problems than you. At that time, you will feel how many good things are you bestowed with in this life.
RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish.
Deepa Kaushik 07-11-2014 07:18 AM
To a good extent, yes, people who commit suicide are weak and selfish. It requires great courage to survive in this bad
and evil world than to die. Living circumstance is not the same for everyone, and every human is different in existence
and reaction to a given situation. With such a diversity in life, it is difficult to compare and evaluate any person and his
situation.
The life is much more difficult to lead on rather than death. Committing suicide is an act performed in a fit or rage which
provides immense energy to bear the pain of death. The pain of death is for few seconds, but the pain of life has no end.
If one problem ceases, the other rises and this goes on. People require great courage to fight the life situations, lingering
with it till their natural death.
Also the suicidal tendency shows the selfish attitude. The one who commits suicide can get rid of the trouble at a go
bearing just few minutes of pain. But he leaves behind his loved ones who dies every second with his thought and
affection in mind and heart. The selfishness overpowers the healthy intellect and provide them the fit to commit suicide.
Thus, it is very much correct in calling the people weak and selfish who commit suicide.
RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish.
Ashish Sharma 07-14-2014 04:13 PM
As per my perspective way of thinking ,their are two kind of persons who tried to commit suicide attempts.1)- those who
can't apologies and 2)- those who are webbed by the other this can be easily, understood by some case like the one
who get raped , can't face the people due to their un- satisfied rewards and make a decision to commit suicide. World
make them into such a situation where there is no way out . All are responsible for one selfish life.
RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish.
mounika.R 07-17-2014 01:27 AM
hai everyone, let me ask onething when we come to this world with what qualities, what talents we are born with. we had
learnt everything in this world. then when a problem has come why should we fear. can,t we face the problem.no ,we
can,t.because if a person gets a problem then inspite of encouraging we will discourage them. we will magnify the
problem.then how can a person manages to solve the problem. without water how can a well fills.god has created us to
help each other. now in this world if a person is physically handicapped we will seethem like an insect. we won't mingle
with them. if a person suffers from diseases like aids we won,t consider him as a person. then what will they do. a
person loves a lot to live in this life. but he commites suicide because of us. they are not cowards but we made them. i
want to conclude that a runner who fails in a competition is not a failure. he has not provided with the sufficient stuff.
likewise a person who commits suicide is not a coward he has not the sufficient dare to face the society. so we citizens
have to support them. then INDIA WILL BE TERMED AS NO SUICIDE COUNTRY.

  • 2. ##1## Can India export skilled labour force to the world? Highlighting the importance of labours for the successful realization of ―Make in India‖ campaign PM Modi launched the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate Karyakaram. On the occasion he said that India can export skilled labours to the whole world. But, does India really have the capacity to become an exporter of skilled labour force. Let‘s see: Yes: -India has a huge demographic dividend, and this dividend provides fertile ground for a large skilled labour force. -Youth in the country is getting better education opportunity and can be easily trained to inculcate the required skills. -Already Indians have shown their capabilities at global level in the sectors like Information Technology. If labour force is provided with the enough opportunities, nothing can stop them to work throughout the world. -Birth rate in most of the developed countries is either stagnated or decreasing. So, in future this will create a huge demand for the labour force and India can easily fulfill this demand. No: -Though we have a large labour force but mostly it is unskilled and lacks the competency required at global level. -Successive governments have launched innumerable schemes for skill enhancement of the labour force, but such efforts hardly yield the expected results. -The labour force along with skills lacks communication skills in global languages like English without which it‘s very difficult to work in foreign countries. -Biggest problem is the unorganized nature of the labour force. Until organized, it is very difficult to impart skills to this force for global exposure. Conclusion: The thought of PM to turn India into a global exporter of labour is indeed visionary and has the capability to transform the face of Indian Labour sector. But actual implementation of this thought is not possible until the aforesaid hurdles are removed. In this regard, the newly launched scheme will set the stage for the speedy removal of these hurdles and will give workers a greater say in formulation of future policies. RE: Can India export skilled labour force to the world? Deepa Kaushik 10-23-2014 02:43 AM This topic is tricky to be discussed. It depends on our priority. What is India in need for? Is that the financial aid or brain and power? With Modi influence all around, we have been hearing the craving for position for our country into the top list
  • 3. in the world. If that us what we actually urge for, then this discussion for exporting our skills is an utter wastage. We Indians are often in a habit of hue and cry for brain drain. If we really do care for brain drain, then why should we think of exporting our brains. Now this has become a proven fact that our brains don't prefer to return back once they get respect and prestige for their talent. Neither do we respect our talents, nor do we posses immense wealth to offer some lucrative package to attract them back. With such a heavy heart, we don't need to think of exporting more skills and make our competitors grow more strong with our talent. If at all we need any financial help, that would be to get back our skilled labours and technicians by offering them some really good deals. And tgat coukd not be done with further loss of skills for our country. This needs a good thoughtful mind who could analyse the importance of talent for the growth of our country in comparison to the monetary hike that we receive from this brain drain. Precisely, exporting the skilled labours would be an utter foolishness RE: Can India export skilled labour force to the world? mahadev singh negi 10-24-2014 11:29 AM Why not Average age of India is only 26 year ; we have the largest labour force in world after 2050. Innovative skills, hardworking nature and hunger to work are the key factors on which basis India can export .. ##2## Should physical presence of NRIs be required for voting? Introduction: The issue of NRIs voting rights has long been on a decision-pending status and even when voting rights were granted to them in 2010, the SC imposed the rule of ―physical presence in the locality‖ for voting. The petition filed by NRI doctor Shamsheer has been seriously taken by SC and it seems that soon we shall have absentee voting or voting through Indian mission abroad. However, the matter still remains debatable whether physical presence is necessary or an unnecessary hindrance for NRIs who are keen in casting their votes. Yes, physical presence is required: 1. Possibility of fraud voting: Impersonating someone is a big threat with the various processes of absentee voting. It would only require a hacked password or a signature copying to vote in place of another person. This is absolutely avoided with the physical presence of a voter at the voting ballot. 2. Risk of intimidating voters: The process of voting at ballots is a matter of privacy where nobody actually sees what or who the other person is voting for. However, this cannot be assured by any absentee voting method, hence making intimidation of voters easy. This privacy can only be assured by the physical presence of the voter.
  • 4. 3. Unseen and unethical practices: Unethical practices could easily be involved without the physical presence of the voter. We have all heard of how in the 2008 presidential election Obama campaign held ―voter parties‖ where supporters decided to fill out their absentee ballots together. Is there place for independent decision making if a voter decided to vote for Republican in a local race? Another example is of the San Francisco absentee ballots voting manipulation which was in headlines for quite a long time. 4. Confirmation unguaranteed: There is a doubt with online voting as it is for paying bills online. The difference would be that we get to see what has been actually debited from our account to pay the bill and that too after a confirmation is received but with voting online, one cannot be sure that his/her vote actually got registered or simply tossed away. 5. Rejected votes: There have been instance in countries which follow the procedure of absentee voting, where 20% of the absentee votes were not even counted due to signature mismatch or other disqualification issues like mistakes in filling the form, etc. Avoiding these issues require the physical presence of the voter. 6. Late counting: There would be issues of late counting of the absentee vote ballots and most countries that follow the system reports this issue of the votes never being counted on the election night. This can happen due to many reasons including delay with scrutinizing the signatures with the voter‘s details and time differences between the countries. No, physical presence is a hindrance: 1. Travelling issues: Not every Indian working or studying abroad can get leave for coming back to their country for voting and neither it will be economical on everyone‘s part to afford the expenses of travelling from, say New York to India. Setting up ballots at Indian mission abroad or mailing ballots would be bliss to all the NRIs who are keen on voting but find it difficult to be physically present during elections. 2. When so many nations including USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Lithuania, Hungary, Mexico, Dominion Republic, El Salvador, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and many more can have the right to vote while being abroad, why can‘t India adopt the process too? 3. Wise decisions: Travelling back to India to vote would often include intimidation of vote by near and dear ones and usually those contesting from the same region. With absentee voting method, voters can research online about all the candidates contesting the election along with the details of their education, deeds, criminal records, ect. and make a wise decision based on their own conscience. 4. More turnouts: Only 15% of the total NRIs come back to their region for voting and the rest of them simply lag behind due to the extra costs and travel issues. Indian missions abroad could be a great relief to these and the rest of the NRIs who would get their rights to vote and would stay connected to their mainland. 5. Recently Supreme Court permitted armed forces personnel to vote at their place of posting. When this change could be made for army, then there is no reason why the same could not be done to enable NRIs to vote from the place where they are residing. Conclusion: NRIs voting through Indian missions abroad and other such modern mechanisms could prove to a great change in the old policy which required the physical presence of NRI voters at the polling booth. The challenges of this system could be tackled by following some strict rules for absentee voting and to ensure the privacy rights of a voter to vote for whichever candidate he/she prefers.
  • 5. RE: Should physical presence of NRIs be required for voting? Deepa Kaushik 10-24-2014 04:26 AM Voting right for NRIs is very much acceptable. Coming on to the discussion for their physical presence at the time of voting, this is again very much important and required. We are all well aware of our present scenario going on in the country. Everyone is aware of the fact that Indians are good in finding loopholes in the structure to make an easy way out for the illegal and unfair play. Being in such a verge of high corruption and crazy heads, it would be definitely difficult to have the option of online voting. Rightly said the online voting being conducted in many other countries across the world don't have a fully satisfactory output.Either the unfair play with absentee voting pops in, or the votes cast by NRIs goes in vain due to lack of time and infrastructure during the counting process. Casting votes with physical presence avoid the fake voting and the time factor doesn't restrict any votes from getting counted. It is pretty understandable and acceptable that every visit is quite expensive and time consuming. And it needs an easy way out to resolve their concern for expense with their right to vote. Our government can create polling booths at Indian embassies overseas to manage all sorts of hassle. Such a solution will help in having the physical presence of NRIs at the time of voting in their vicinity ##3## Aviation industry - Can India lead? India‘s Aviation sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. There are about 450 airports and 1100 registered aircrafts in India. This sector has a compound annual growth rate of about 18%. Indian airlines industry had total revenue of $14.2 billion in 2011. These figures reflect the growing potential of Indian airlines sector. But we need to analyze, does this sector has the ability to emerge as a future world leader in aviation industry. Yes: -With the increase in per capita income, more and more Indians are now able to travel through airlines. -Government has allowed FDI in aviation industry. So, collaboration with foreign players will enhance Indian airlines global reach. -Interest shown by foreign airlines in buying stakes in domestic airlines has shown the faith and confidence of foreign industries about Indian airline sector. -Also, Indian companies through these collaborations will get the much needed global exposure in airlines sector. -FDI in aviation sector will bring in foreign capital as well as technology, which transform the domestic aviation industry and can turn India into the preferred destination for aero planes manufacturing. • 6. -Most of the civil air carriers in India today are under severe financial strain. For instance, Air India has a debt of approximately $6.4 billion. -Indian airlines are operating with high fuel costs because of the PSU‘s monopoly in finalizing the price of ATF (Air Turbine Fuel). -Volatility in Rupee‘s price against USD is yet another problem, which impacts airline companies long term planning. -Kingfisher‘s debacle has proved to be disastrous for airline companies. They are already facing the complex taxation and bureaucratic controls. Now, this new episode has made it more difficult for these players to raise funds from markets. Conclusion: With high on optimism Indian airline industry has crossed new milestones and progressing to achieve new targets. Unfortunately, domestic rules are pulling back this sector from realizing its potential to the fullest extent. With the new opportunities opened up for foreign players, these domestic hurdles needs to be eradicate, then only we can expect India to emerge as the world leader in aviation industry. RE: Aviation Industry - Can India lead? Deepa Kaushik 10-23-2014 02:24 AM India into the aviation sector is like a newly planted tree. It is very early to judge if we can lead. It is good to aim and dream high but overconfidence is bad. It is not that we cannot lead in aviation industry. To be realistic, we need to focus and work a lot in this field. We have a lot many challenges to be met to get ourselves to the international standard. Having FDI into aviation industry has their own pros and cons. It us not only the investment and technology that is into the deal, but we are definitely losing some share from our own authority granting the access to the foreigners to interrupt our way if processing. Any loophole could prove fatal and make a big loss for us. Still having the FDI is the only scope for us to improve and raise ourselves to international standards. If we want to get in to the race for position, we need to let FDI have a fair play. But more important for ys right now is to tackle the internal issues and clear off the debts for our airlines especially the case of Air India. Just boosting for position and power doesn't show our capability, but we need to have substance to prove our competence and efficiency. No doubt we have brains, we just need them to work together for our development. It us high time to hold hands with each other and make our way to the top in the aviation industry
  • 7. ##4## Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? PM Narendra Modi urged local masses to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi`s dream of Clean India. He launched the Swachh Bharat Campaign at Rajpath in New Delhi. He called it as a paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, on their birth anniversary. He urged people that it is the social responsibility of Indian citizens to accomplish Gandhiji`s vision of Clean India by year 2019. He even said that the vision can only come true only when 125 crore people of India work for it. Let us share our views on the matter. Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? Yes • It is not wise to start thinking of the results first as it is said that perform actions without considering the results. • PM Narendra Modi came on the streets to start the mission, and this step cannot be ignored by his many followers. • PM initiated the chain by inviting nine public figures for campaign including Sachin Tendulkar, Shashi Tharoor, Mridula Sinha, Baba Ramdev, Anil Ambani, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kamal Hasan, and the entire team of Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma. • Gujarat, which was a destroyed state, after a series was natural disaster, was rebuilt by Narendra Modi, and he was successful in making it a clean and prosperous state. No • Every task needs follow up and just one day working to fulfill the vision will not convert Swachh Bharat Campaign into reality. • The celebrities will also come for one day to promote the cause and will get busy with their schedules in future. It is the same case with every person in India. • The youngsters can only create hype on social media by sharing blogs, praising efforts of PM, and posting his pictures. No one will take a broom and actually become a part of the movement. • In a economy where inflation is rising, growth is slowing, jobs are declining, who has got the time to devote to such campaigns. • More than the cleaning drive, it is the people's attitude that needs a change. If we keep making our surroundings dirty, we can never make India clean. Conclusion PM Narendra Modi is known for his actions. Whenever he starts a mission, gives everything to complete it. The development of Gujarat is the finest example of his work. However, this time it is a big challenge where he needs to change mentality of crores of people living in India. He has started well, and message is spreading well. It needs to be continued by PM Modi by launching some or other form of measures to encourage the people for making the vision of

Deepa Kaushik 10-7-2014 04:23 AM This discussion itself gives a pessimistic attitude towards the Campaign. It is the people of India who need to make this campaign a success. The campaign was just an initiative taken by our PM to emphasize his thinking towards the matter. It is a known fact that the public figure would not come on to the street every day to clean up the streets, and again it is not their duty to clean up the streets. We have employed workers who need to care for the streets, but what people need to do is understand their part of the duty. It is the common man who throws garbage on the streets, who should have discarded the same on a dustbin ideally. Isn‘t that the responsibility of every Indian citizen to perform their duties and responsibilities correctly before pointing fingers on the government or anyone else? If the common man can come up and realize their own responsibilities, then it would itself take this mission to a 90percent success rate. PM has done the best that he can do. We cannot expect him to come on the streets with a broom daily to get people out of their couch and make city clean. He is doing his part of the duties as a responsible citizen and as a person of authority has shown the way to walk on for the others. Now, it is the duty of the public to realize their part of the responsibilities and support and make this mission a success. PM could have extended his good efforts in this direction by making some stringent rules and regulations to keep the neighbourhood and society clean. Indians being nurtured on a stubborn platform, is difficult to get them on the tracks without a legal or monetary check. This could have given an assurance to keep the common man on the right track. So, provided we can have some regulations to keep the common man on to the track of cleanliness regime, we can have an assured success of the Swachh Bharat Campaign. RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? Yogita 10-15-2014 05:13 AM We all appreciated the initiative which PM Modi made on Mahatma Gandhi's Jayanti by cleaning the street of our Capital. But, such initiatives were made and are carried on by the generations to come. What we need to realize is that it is just an effort which we all are supposed to make as the citizen of this country to keep our country clean. Having said that, I wouldn't hold back the responsibility of the government in this context. When i compare my country with west, I admit that governments overseas have made stringent rules to keep their respective country clean. As per the Survey conducted in 2010 comparing different states in India in terms of cleanliness, Chandigarh stood first. Chandigarh stood first because it understands the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. If we can make one state clean then we can built other Chandigarhs' through out the country. At the end, I would like to conclude by saying that citizen of India and government should join hands and should work out to keep this country clean. It just requires a continuous and consistent approach in achieving it.. RE: Will Swachh Bharat Campaign Succeed? Lucky 10-16-2014 01:14 PM In my opinion it is not the first time that an effort has been made to make India clean. The mission of PM Modi is a lot bigger than preventing littering by a common man or to pick up broom on one fine day to clean our localities. The scale of open defecation in India is huge with nearly 60 crore people defecating in open.Since the past mistakes have not been rectified in this campaign,it is highly likely that the sum of over 2 lakh crores kept for this aspect would go

The percentage of money intended to be put towards behavioural change has been halved from previous scheme. This itself shows that the govt is not keen on permanent change in this regard. When there is lack of accountability for the polluting industries and the pollution control departments have merely become parking space for sycophants there is little a common man can do with his small broom. There is no doubt that making people understand their responsibility is a major import of this mission but this campaign is actually not suggesting any solution by not focussing on the waste disposal and diverting our attention away from the defunct municipalities of the country. • 12. ##5## Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement Prime Minister Modi has laid a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. In this direction, he launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. This movement envisages a clean India through participation of every Indian. A lot of suspicion prevails over the success of this campaign, as many are arguing that until the attitude and mentality of people changes no campaign can clean India. So, should government have launched a mass awareness mission to change the mentality prior to Swach Bharat Abhiyan? Yes: -There will be no expected participation unless people‘s attitude towards cleanliness and its importance changes. - Indians generally cares very less about hygiene. Most of them even spit where ever they want, as they are unaware of the health implications. Their habit will not change unless they are aware. -Workers indulge in cleaning jobs hardly gets any respect within the society. Most of them are from Scheduled casts. Unless the mentality towards these workers and their job changes, we cannot expect the mass participation. -People keep their home clean, but when it comes to surroundings like streets, parks etc. nobody cares because they perceive it as the duty of government even though they themselves are responsible for throwing garbage and making their surroundings dirty. No: -Launching this mission with active participation of PM, ministers and officials itself motivates citizens to participate. -The mission highlights the importance of cleanliness very well and making them aware is an integral part for this mission. -The issue of cleanliness was not given enough priority during the last many decades. This campaign will prioritize this issue. -We cannot wait for changing mentalities and attitudes as burden of health diseases on the economy due to lack of cleanliness is increasing. -Most importantly, taking action for making India clean through this campaign itself is the first necessary step towards realizing this dream. Conclusion: Making people aware is important, but more important is that this awareness is converted to actions. As government itself has taken the initiative, this will definitely motivate people and make them realize that cleanliness is not just
  • 13. government‘s responsibility. On its part government can introduce a separate awareness drive too, so that more and more people join this campaign. RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement Rakesh Mishra 10-4-2014 10:15 AM Yes i agree that attitude is an important factor for consideration but if we do nothing and expect to change attitudes that is not viable too..Individuals have their own attitude and its hard to change but not impossible..Mahatma Gandhi with his mass movement could unite India and people united through out to fight for the freedom of India..Now with Mr PM leading this clean India movement we can expect history repeating itself.. A positive Change in surrounding will create a positive change in attitudes.. RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement Dipak Singh 10-6-2014 05:35 AM No,I strictly don't think that "The Attitude of Clean India" has a greater importance than its movement. Just Think, what is the purpose of a man who only thinks and has a attitude towards cleaning India rather than taking part. It's like that "Look I want my surroundings clean and clear but i won't indulge in cleaning that." I think "Attitude of Making a Move for Cleaning India" will be more fruitful thought than the previous one. Making a move will encourage others too. RE: Clean India - Attitude change is more important than the movement megha 10-6-2014 12:15 PM attitude have not changed from a long time. people are less interested in keeping their surrounding clean. they can just comment how dirty this area is but wont take a step towards cleaning it. with this movement our PM have made a start to wake people up and make them realize about their duty of keeping their surroundings clean. this movement will itself bring about the change in attitude. along with that a follow up should also be there on various states for their performance on cleanliness scale and bring about a competitive environment for a more swach desh. • 14. Attitude change is definitely important to make and keep India clean, but all these require a spark, the initiative to start the work from. Why can‘t we people take this mission as the start for the cleanliness process? Clean India Movement is something that everyone wants from the soul of our heart, every one of us are aware that we are the ones who are responsible for making our society and neighbourhood dirty and it is we who need to gather and put up efforts in cleaning the area. Still, none of has made any effort to give it a try, may be due to our carelessness or over- consciousness of our fake image in our society. Clean India Movement is definitely a very good effort to make the mass participation. It is the way to convey the message that not just the Government, but to keep the nation clean and hygienic, it requires a active and whole-hearted participation by the citizens. It is a movement to make people realize their duty and responsibility towards our country. It is not enough to make long speeches and when it comes to taking the responsibilities, just to point finger towards others. It is high time to get on to the street and come to action. In a country like India, where people have grown and been nurtured with adamant attitude and ruthless behaviour with immense carelessness and total lack of duty consciousness, just movement is not enough to maintain the pace and keep up the spirit of this working attitude. We require stringent laws like fine for the common area in the residential places and offices which should be driven out of the pockets of the citizens responsible and the money should be utilised for the cleaning purposes. Attitude would not change on itself. It requires stringent rules and regulations to get people on to the track. We cannot just dust our careless attitude by terming the awareness campaign. We are all aware of the fact that even the well- educated and literate group hardly bother regarding the hygiene. Hence, rather than wasting time on discussing the attitude change of the masses, we can ourselves start with the campaign and change our attitudes first. Clean India is definitely an appreciable movement, which requires support and active participation instead of debates and discussions. • 15. ##6## Degree or skill – what is more important? Introduction Degree and skill are two sides of the same coin. To succeed in the race of life, a person need to have a degree along with the skill. A degree without the skill would be as empty as the skill without the degree. Both need to go hand-in-hand in order to be the survival of the fittest. Degree is nothing but the certified documentation of the skill within the individual. Every person having the skill may not manage to attain the degree. Similarly, every degree holder is not necessarily skilled. The requirement of the degree or skill depends upon the organization, the nature of post etc. On a general outlook, which criteria carries more weightage – the degree or the skill? Degree - Degree is an authenticate certificate that the person applying for the post is having the knowledge of the work requirement and has the ability to manage the functioning and justify the post. - Degree makes a person more confident in his approach and outlook. These things are an essential part of the personality development. - Degree can make a person more polite, humble and wiser. This could be in order to take charge of the job or to climb the success ladder. But these things are difficult to manage without a degree in hand. - A degree earns respect and social reputation. A person is assessed through his qualifications which is reflected by his degree. - Degree earns money and status for its master. The more specialised the degree, the higher the post and status and higher is the salary package. Skill - Every degree holder is not necessarily skilled. It is the skill that helps to achieve the target and not the degree. - Skill is an abstract term which cannot be evaluated on the bits of paper. It is a broad spectrum which is groomed within the individual and nurtured through the repeated practical implications in life. - It is not the degree but the skill that achieves success. A degree can just earn the job, but it cannot help to grow further without the skill. - It is skill which attracts the employers, clients and management which lifts or drops the person. Without the skill, the person would not be able to catch hold the interest of their superiors and attain success.
  • 16. - The great people from the history were all skilled people, but they didn‘t had the certifications for their knowledge. ConclusionB Degree is the theoretical evaluation of an abstract concept which is virtually not possible. It is the skill that helps the person to grow up both materially / financially and immaterially with respect to the status, importance, social respect and recognition etc. Degree definitely has its own importance, as a person need to have some skill in order to achieve the degree. A complete dumb individual cannot qualify to attain the degree. Hence , we can summarize by saying that the degree is the first step in the ladder of skills which leads to the success in life. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Teena Bhatia 09-11-2014 03:46 AM Degree or skill, what is more important has always stayed a debatable issue. It started making all more noise as and when Smriti Irani was appointed on the post of HRD ministry. However, it is important to understand that everyone don‘t have skills to make it big without degree. Degree is just not a mere certificate but is an important achievement for millions of people to get a living in their life. Degree is the first base where the person gets the confidence to excel in life. The organizations and multinational companies don‘t even consider a candidate profile with no degree. Skills alone don‘t make the individual an ideal candidate for job. With competition rising every now and then, the candidates can have an edge over other by pursuing higher education. And, it is after the degree, skills come into play. Degree is the first entry step and skill can be defined as the passing step for any job profile. The education enables the candidates to sharpen their skills. Coming to degree and skills, it is important to discuss one more aspect. There are two types of people. One who want to be in jobs and the second group who want to become entrepreneurs. The candidates who want to become entrepreneurs can always make it big without any degree. Dhirubhai Ambani is the finest example in this case. At the same time, candidates who want to work on high-profile jobs have to pursue higher education and earn a degree. It also stands true for the professions like architect, engineer and doctors. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Dr.Kshama kulhalli 09-11-2014 04:22 AM Of course undoubtedly skill. It is very important to know what are the things you can do with efficiency and efficacy, than simply getting the degree. The best composition will be skill +Qualifications. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Mukteshwar 09-11-2014 02:30 PM According to me skill is having more weightage than the degree . I would like to take a example on this .. suppose a person is having a degree for certain skill . In every companies or for any jobs the first criteria is to have skills suitable for that job . If the person is having the degree for that particular skill but not the actual skill , gets selected for the job interview would not be able to crack the interview because at that time he can't proof his skill . But if a person not having the degree but is having the skill and can proof it , then he/she only needs
  • 17. a chance to proof it . Person having skill doesn't needs degree to proof that . His/Her work will be his best degree . We can see the example of Cricketor harbhajan singh . He was chosen as the SUPRITENDENT OF POLICE in PUNJAB although he was not having the degree for that but he was having skill to be given a respected post like that . So according to me a piece of paper can't stop a person to get success in his/her life if the person is having the skill . RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? nishi gupta 09-13-2014 04:16 AM degree and skill both are two faces of same coin.. as it is very well known..but it is very much obvious that skill is more important than degree...in this fast competitive world no one can trust on u that u are capable of that particular work or not.. so to prove yourself that you re capable. u should have a particular area degree.. but more obvious that if u have a degree nt having any skill so u can't survive in that field,, as skill is first requirement then degree as world is changing day by day it wants professionalism, it wants a person that can be best for them ..they will only give to chance them..so for this type of requirements every person should have skills with degree.. there wold be chances to get success wuthout degree.. but without skills u can't do anything in any field.. if i take an example in my field that is engineering..in this field to get entry u must have a degree to prove urself.. but after getting degree if u dn't hae any skills then u will be out from this field immediately.. so skill is more important tha degree.. but both has its own importance... mainlt it can be said that to get success ur first step would be degree and then command on ur skills.. then nobody can stop u to success.. to be successfulll RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? shruti shrabya 09-13-2014 07:14 AM A person with no skill but with many degrees is of no usw. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? kartik 09-16-2014 01:58 AM friends first of all I would like to thanks teena bhatia to start the discussion on such a positive note. friends by my opinion skills are more important as compared to degrees. I agree with my previous speakers degree also plays vital role In the journey of success but skills plays a major role coz degrees can be easily bought from any institution, college, there N no's of universities which provides distance learning education for ex. KSOU anyone of us can be the student this university and can easily get the degree of 80% marks in any specialisation. but that is of no use coz in today's scenario skilled person is always given first priority experienced person always get salute in every field whether it's private firm, govt firm only n only experienced one gets priority first as compared to degree holder. friends these kind of degrees are of no use infact we can say it results in corruption, crime, unemployment, Illiteracy, n many other aspects. let's take an example of schools n colleges I have seen N no. of teachers holding well known degrees like MA, M.COM, M PHIL but what do we usually found an English teacher holding MA in English unable to speak even a single word in English and appointed as a teacher he is the one who spoils the life of many students this results in when a child grows up he/she moves to well reputed firm he/she has good degree but unable to crack an interview for that particular post and in most of the cases the one who has good political approach and a degree he/she gets a job easily and always a talented one skilled person has to suffer which results in unemployment at end they prefer suicide as a one n only way so this is my opinion skills are more important and skilled person should always given first priority . RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? monika mangla 09-20-2014 06:31 AM it is the nice topic for me n young students. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? ravi 09-20-2014 07:48 AM i ihink skill is more important than degree because with the help of degree a person can easily get a chance to sit in an interview but it is his skill that helps him to grab the job. a persons degree is futile if he doesn't posses the skills required. a person having a degree it does not mean that he can solve problems of life it is skills that helps him to solve the problems for me degree is just a paper nothing more than that but skill is that thing which cannot be evaluated on paper. • 19. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Goldi tiwari 09-20-2014 08:39 AM According to me in current scenario degree and skill both are important. One cannot succeed without taking other in this competitive world. If one does not have the degree he/she cannot enter in any organisation and the same time skills also helps the person to attain a position in organisation like his communication and technical skills. Both helps to grow financially ,personally. But skill contributes major role in ones achievement and growth in life. A person who have much skills doesn't need to have any degree to achieve RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Tanu 09-25-2014 10:17 AM friends what I have found in my "degree" experience is that. Degree and skill both plays equal role to your career. Degree with good marks and skill are the things one requires to be successful. But skill n degree from any distance learning program, which some of my friends has quoted, will also be a good option for a person who has no choice. As degrees which are acquired by some renouned institute for a skillful person would not be a children's play, As if we look into the actual scenario degree needs focus at the time of exams and fully preparedness according to that exam, but skill demands from you to focus on extra co curricular activity which require commitment and many a time you may
  • 20. ended up with ruining your marks because you remain busy in ur co-curricular which means ruining ur degree due to your skill. if you are unable to control ur urge to go for ur passion and don't focus on exams which is a totally different task, then you are gone. So this discussion will go on and on, acquiring knowledge with degree is also challanging. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? Rajat Kushwah 09-26-2014 08:00 AM according to me degree and skill both are important now-a-days.. since degree is the alibi of your skill.degree is the echelon of your ability and on the other hand skill is necessity of survival in this competitive world.although skill is the only thing which tryst the you from your endeavor. RE: Degree or skill – what is more important? ashwini 09-26-2014 10:00 AM here i would also like to share my point of view. i agree with all my friends skill is as important as degree and viceversa. without skill nobody can survive, that too being in this 21st century in the competative world. it is the skill which is required to handle all tidious situation. but when it comes to job it is the degree which is the foremost criteria.if u have the degree u r aallowed to take part in interview and after that it is based on our skills how we get through the interview. so i hereby conclude that skilled person can show is skill if he has degree has the token. ##7## Love marriage vs Arrange marriage - Which one is better? Marriage is a very important social institution. Every individual wants to have a perfect match, but the criteria for choosing the partner is different. In love marriages, individuals prefer to choose their partners on their own, while in case of arrange marriages individuals prefers partners chosen by their family or parents. There is a continuous debate regarding the best way to choose the partner for marriage. Let‘s analyze which one of the two is better. Love marriage - Both individuals know each other already and mutually decide to spend the whole life with each other. -Couple is responsible for its choice and onus of the blame in future lies on the couple only and nobody else. -Couple is aware of each other‘s likes and dislikes. Therefore they will get along well. -Couple can eradicate social evil like dowry with their mutual consent because they have the independence to take such decisions at their own level. -The culture of the extravagant spending too can be curbed by the understanding between the couple.
  • 21. Arrange marriage: -Arrange Marriage is not a contract between two individuals alone but a confluence of two families. -Two families involved in arrange marriages know each other very well and are compatible with each other. -Because there are more people involved in arrange marriage, the conflict between the couple will be effectively resolved or mitigated. -Couple is guided by parents experience whereas in love marriage couple is unknown about the future complexities in life and lacks this experience. Conclusion: Both ways have their merits as well as demerits and marriage is a decision of lifetime. Though families are involved in most of the marriages, it‘s the couple which has to live together for lifetime. So, the decision to choose life partner should be left to the individuals. Ultimately no one can certify the best way for a perfect marriage life because like life marriages too are full of uncertainties. RE: Love marriage vs Arrange marriage - Which one is better? Deepa Kaushik 10-16-2014 10:07 AM Marriage is a unique bond between two people that in turn unites two different families. Marriage has a different definition for everyone. But this bond gets strengthened by trust, beief, understanding, feeling of oneness, own-ness along with the usual potion of love, romance and affection. Love and arranged marriage both differs from the root. Love marriage is better when the two individuals know each other in their true sense instead of projecting only their positives. Understanding each other well would be the basis of the victory of this love marriage. Coming on to the question whether every couple in love dare to share their intricate self prior to marriage is still doubtful. It is a normal human tendency to project our positives to impress others. And when our mind is attracted towards someone, we do tend to show all our good notes to get that person's attention. This is why many love marriages ends up in vain. Talking of arranged marriage, the couples make up their mind a bit to compromise in case of arranged marriage. Unlike love marriage, couples adapt better to rach other's family in arranged marriage. With the changing trend, even the arranged marriages have evolved and couples take time between engagement and marriage to know and understand each other. This has its own pros and cons. Couples might take time to understand each other's family requirements and commitments. This could help them evolve easily with the new life. Conversely, the same time could break a marriage if they feel incompatible. Though our society finds breaking marriage as a bad omen, still it is lot better than a unpleasant married life giving sorrow for the entire life of couples. Closely analysing, it is the adaptability and expectations of couples and their ability to adjust and compromise to the situation that makes or breaks a marriage. This could be equally possible in both love and arranged marriage. We can have one additive point in majority of the arranged marriages that the family comes to help and bonding the couples with integrity in case of any mis-happening or trouble in the married life. Precisely, rather than calling the love or arranged marriage better, we should appreciate every couple who are striving hard every moment to turn their marriage to a complete success RE: Love marriage vs Arrange marriage - Which one is better? sahar 10-21-2014 03:45 PM In my opinion, love marriage is better than arranged one, because you yourself choose your partner and absolutely know each others very well.we can deal with problemes in the lifebetter with love ,likewise neglect some of them for the sake of love.before marriage ,you know is the one who you want to live with the rest of your life.but in my country ,it,s not like this.
  • 22. ##8## Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? Introduction The combination of beauty and brain is not very common. The one who has got both brain and beauty is by far the most lucky person on earth. Every person has his own strengths and weaknesses, and the good traits definitely speak out in some or the other way. A beautiful person with his wrong deeds cannot excel; similarly a ugly person with a beautiful soul struggles throughout his life to prove himself. When we come to the discussion who can rule the world – beauty or brain, there come a plenty of points both in favour and against the notion. Let us discuss a few of them. Beauty - Let us start with the saying ―True beauty lies in the eyes of its beholder‖. The beauty which holds the eyes of the one who perceives, rules the entire globe with its attraction. - Beauty paves a faster way to success with its charm and charisma. - Brain without beauty finds it difficult to withstand the initial phase of interaction, as ‗the first impression is the last impression‘. - Beauty not only implies the external look but also the inner beauty of the soul. The Inner beauty remarks the refined thought and soul which could win millions of hearts. - Inner beauty is the requirement for the ‗higher purpose of existence and survival‘. It is the internal beauty of the soul which helps in the self-growth and development of the society. - Beauty implies captivity, and the world today follows the appearance and the external looks. - We call women to be the most beautiful creation of God, and by far the women have a strong say worldwide which implies that the beauty is ruling the world. No - Brain is ultimate. Beauty would fade away with time, but brain is eternal and it gets polished and shines more with time and increasing age. - Beauty can glow only if the person has good luck, conversely brain has the capacity to mould and shape the fortune and win the hearts. - The adverse times being the right ones to judge; the brain shines like a diamond and paves its way out from the difficult situation, however, the beauty gets tugged up into the trouble. - Beauty is God‘s creation which cannot be made better, whereas, brain can be developed through human efforts and gaining worldly knowledge. The true efforts definitely succeed and rule the world. - Brain has the capacity to retain career and gain recognition. Brain retains the relationships and knits the world into a single entity. - Beauty might not be there with the brainy, but brain is present in every human in varying capacity. Even not so beautiful people may possess a sharp intellect and the capacity to rule the world, but a beautiful brainless idiot cannot even stand up in the race of life.
  • 23. - Even the beauty contests like Miss World and Miss Universe are won on the basis of their intellect and not the beauty alone. Conclusion Beauty and brain is undoubtedly an unique and nice combination to excel in the life arena. When coming to the debate, the brain has an upper say over beauty. The inner beauty of the person is very close to the brainy, but the external looks alone cannot excel in life. Brain undoubtedly has the strong domination to rule the world in comparison to the external outlook and beauty. RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? Teena Bhatia 08-15-2014 04:24 PM Beauty or brain, the answer to the question is simple. It is the brain that has and that will always rule the world. Talking about beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is considered as one of the most beautiful ladies in the world, also must have remained back in the race, if she had made her decisions wrong. She was successful because brains accompanied her beauty every time. It is a simple fact. Beauty cannot win alone. It needs the support of brain to make a place in the world. Brain is not about the big degrees but it is more about making the right choices in life. However, it is the different case with brains. A person who has got brains can find a solution in every problem. Brain doesn‘t needs the support of beauty to win the competitive race. Look around and see the richest people around you, they are the people with brains. In the present world, if the person has brains and is successful, it is possible to buy beauty in the form of facial surgery. But no medical treatment or surgery can make a beautiful person intelligent. Hence, in the matter undisputedly brain is better than the beauty. RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? Aisha aggarwal 08-31-2014 02:23 AM it is really a good topic .and really an interesting one. RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? ayushi aggarwall 08-31-2014 02:26 AM nice topic! Ivy Chaudhuri 09-20-2014 04:48 PM Differentiation of people on the basis of looks is a very random ritual, threatning on the verge of being accepted as normal. Its as if how a person looks is the ultimate yardstick. You see a pretty face talking to you and you convince yourself of an abstract goodness!!!! Nothing can be more uglier than a person with a twisted mind and an obnoxious heart, who serve no other purpose but being another blot in the name of Humans.

RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? Ravi Gupta 10-12-2014 09:46 AM In my point of view beauty and brain both are needed to rule in the world. As we can see beauty makes the first look of the person. every person first attracted towards the outer beauty i.e. physical beauty then he realizes the inner beauty. inner beauty represents its attitude and behavior towards the life, brain has the capacity how to deal with the problem and how to take the right decision. RE: Beauty or Brain – who can rule the world? sahar 10-21-2014 03:26 PM I think.brain can more rule the world than beauty.because we make the world with our thoughts and attitude.first we think how to improve our world and have a beter life.which thoughts can help the world not beauty. ##9## High attrition rate: a bad news or good news for India? A survey showed that India has the highest attrition rate in comparison to other countries of the world. In India, 35 per cent of the workforce has term of less than two years compared to the western markets where it is 15 per cent. Harnessing talents is one of the most vital challenges faced by organizations of IT and telecom sector mostly, along with most of the private companies as well as the government organizations. Youth is in constant hunt for new and better opportunities that would boost their talent
  • 25. and forfeit better than the current one. The question arises whether high attribution rate in India is a negative thing or positive news. Bad: 1. Company’s loss: Employees who are talented and have proved to be a boon for the company definitely knows his work well. If they resign from their position, the company will have to look for a new employee to fill the space and there is absolutely no guarantee that the hunt will yield desired result. It might take time to find a suitable employee with the desired profile and even if it succeeds in finding one, training and some experience that develops over time shall be needed and all this while, the company might have to compromise in terms of yield. 2. Increased cost: Over the time, employees who have spent more than 2 years in a company knows their work well and doesn’t need much help with their core. When new employees are hired, it automatically increases the expenses of the organization towards training, recruitment and selection costs, possible product/service quality problems, cost of temporary staff, etc. 3. Dissatisfactory working conditions: Increase in attrition rate signifies that the employees of those organizations are not happy with the working conditions, or present remuneration, or perhaps they do not see a scope for development in their current position. Companies must make efforts to retain its employees so that they could concentrate on strategies for increasing their yield instead of allotting the same work to different employees in every two year. 4. Switching job dilemma: When employees give in their 100% and do not see their efforts being rewarded with incentives and awards, they opt for switching job which is neither good for the individual or for the organization. After working for years in a company, the employees not only get professionally attached to the organization but also develop an emotional synchronization it. Though youth seeks better opportunities, but at one time they would want to be stable part of an organization. 5. Growth depends on employees: The growth of an organization depends greatly on its employees and that is why we say that employees are the biggest asset of an organization. Only if an organization takes care of the needs and gives them the right importance, then the employees will be satisfied with their job and that would lead to more efforts towards the benefit of the organization. Good: 1. Better market: Attrition is seen as a quality of a recovering market, indicative of better job opportunities and better compensation along with growth of individual profiles. Some people are of the view that when employees want to stick to their present job even when they are not completely satisfied with the working condition, then the nation is a state of recession. 2. Experimenting with skills: High attrition rate also shows that individuals in India are keen in trying
  • 26. their hands at various skills instead of sticking to their domain of expertise which becomes monotonous after sometime. People do leave the jobs where they were paid well to do things they always wanted to do – maybe a dream career they wanted to pursue. It is time when India is witnessing engineers turned writers and economist turned chef. 3. More space for freshers: High attrition rate is one of the reasons why a fresher out of college does not need to strive to find his/her first job. Experienced individuals switching jobs for better opportunities gives openings to these newcomers who would otherwise struggle to find a good job. Conclusion: Though high attrition rate has some plus points, yet for the growth and development of the economy of a nation, retention of talented employees is very important. Intellectuals switching jobs are not only finding better openings in India but also abroad. India needs its young employee to develop a better economic state. Instead of solely focusing on the profits of the company, they need to understand and value the interests of the employees. ##10## Celebrities should be welcomed in politics. For - They attract a mass following and can sway public opinion in the right direction. - The celebrities have been successful in their respective field and have the right ethics required being successful in politics. - Celebrities can do a lot for the welfare of the people as they also live in amongst the common people. - They have the power to persuade or convince the majority to work in favor of development of the country. - They have a huge fan following which only makes it easier for them to operate. Against - Whether it is Govinda or any other actor for that matter, no one‘s attendance has been up to the mark in parliament. - No one has really raised a particular issue, which has worked in the favor of the nation. - If you were to analyze the achievements of the actors present in politics, it has been close to negligible.
  • 27. - They are already so engrossed in their lives, that it has been seen over the years that they don‘t have the political mind frame to perform in politics. RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics. Shreyan 11-26-2012 12:36 AM Not the celebrities, but the specialized ones should welcomed to the politics. Yes! In that case if any celebrity is specialized in any one he/she should mostly welcomed, otherwise the situation may like this, today who is coal minister tomorrow he will become education minister, no matter what the department is. The talkings may sound harsh, but it is the only reality that in India, nowadays the ministers are only to loot the departments not to look after. whatever it may be coal or education? only material will change from coal to books..! But what the celebrities will do? Is the parliament house is a theater hall to show the drama on aam-aadmis harassment and poverty in India? The man become change but the chair remains same. Only the outburst of power. Every minister and ministry should take oath before they sit on the chair of their dept. own, any any one line of the oath if they make in real the present situation of India will change in near future; whatever it any celebrities or any other citizens of our country. By whom they are in power they must know how to serve them, not only before the vote but also the five year long.. If not, throw them out of chair! RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics. sushma 11-27-2012 08:33 AM according to me if minister is agud person then that place haveto come becoz they have more money to help poor peple n by coopetate each other they shoud make a gud life for all.some celebryty are gud n some are not .some celibrity are looking for ther publicity only they have no realy heart tu attend nice thing.n some are realy like to help like salman khan he is realy nice man. at last woud like to say if our political peple become gud n truth man n protecting our nation from every thing then every one have to join that realy works. RE: Celebrities should be welcomed in politics. Ritika mehrotra 08-18-2014 11:08 AM From my point of view celebrities shouldn't be allowed for coming in politics.the reason behind is that one person can be good only in one field they can't focus on the both at the same time and they have no knowledge regarding this. They win the elections only on their fame but they come only to gather more fame .As we can take example of satrughan sinah he entered in politics when his bollywood career has completed .Politics is not as a call center that any one can come for a part time job.
  • 28. ##11## Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal ? In the ever-changing world, the one thing that people still can‘t accept openly is losing the virginity before marriage. It is a sensitive topic especially in the regions where people are more attached with their culture and values. It is true for the countries like India where even love marriages or live in relationships are not accepted easily. Even the teenagers especially girls consider it to be big and cathartic event of life. The matter gets really serious and intense at times. Are you one of those people? Do you really thing losing virginity before marriage is a big deal? Yes • In this world, every that thing that cannot be regained after it‘s lost is considered as invaluable and precious. • Virginity is not about sharing a physical relationship with other but it is more about sharing trust and belongingness with other. No • People have a habit to make haste out of waste, and when something has to happen at sometime, then why to make a fuss out of it. • Getting intimate with any person is a matter of choice and cannot be confined to the defined limits. • Character cannot be judged on the basis of virginity. If that had been the case, most of the guys should be proved characterless. • Whenever virginity is talked about it is confined to women, if men are not bounded with the terms, why should women be? • Virginity has nothing to do with the long term relationships or commitment. If it had been the case, most of the arranged marriages must have been successful. Conclusion Since ages, people are following the concept that virginity is the gift from the two partners after their marriage. However, in the present world, the concept is changing. It is more of a personal preference and choice what the partners want. The only thing is that the decision should be made with due consideration. In any case, it should not hinder the happiness and peace of your life.
  • 29. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal Deepa Kaushik 07-15-2014 11:19 AM Virginity is definitely a special feature which makes marriage a strong bonding and ever-lasting relationship. Though countries like India tag virginity to the character of only women, but it is not so. Virginity is neither a synonym for character, nor is it a characteristic feature for women. A girl sexually assaulted and raped might lose her virginity, but that doesn‘t define her bad character. Character should be defined by the person‘s thinking, mindset and execution of their behaviour; not by their physical relationship which is not necessarily by their own will. Again if we talk of virginity, then we also need to include the males in this sphere. Virginity before marriage is special as it carries a sense of own-ness, trust, understanding and mutual sharing relationship. All these creates a thrill and makes the awaited marriage more excited. But that does not mean that losing virginity in terms of re-marriage for widows or divorcee is an offence or a characterless act. Those are equally respectable in the practical living, as making a person live their life instead of killing them alive is much more than the demand for virginity. Thus, precisely speaking, virginity is just a fascinating feature for marriage, but losing the same accidentally doesn‘t make a big deal. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal rajesh kumar 07-15-2014 01:12 PM After going through the views of earlier views on the topic I do feel that losing verginity before marriage be considered as big deal. Since in the elite society of india where women is treated as mark of respect there this type of act can not be tolerated at all. Moreoverall to control on the emotions and sexully need is also important for a girl that she should not knowingly cross her limits just due to fascination towards any one rather she should enjoy the life but giving up or losing ones virginity on the step of teenage is seems to be carelessness of a girl. At last I would like to submitted that there should be a feeling for would be partner so that at any stage whenever there was a question comes before anyone about virginity she can confidently reply and won the trust of her husband. Otherwise there are no of examples that a mistake committed in past become perilious in future. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal sunil patel (patel sahib) 07-17-2014 06:27 AM I'm totally agree to miss Deepa. She gave very nice examples. I have the same thinking..... I think virginity is not a certificate of purity of love or anything else. If you love someone then it would come in your nature and your behavior too otherwise everybody in this world are playing a role and one can play that very well. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal Sudeesh varma 07-18-2014 11:14 AM According to my path virginity before marriage is not ah right think in india.Because indian culture is not like that as per indian culture and religion it is wrong..But by losting virginity it doesnt shows the character of the girl ..they can lost their virgnity by sexual harshment or by getging raped .So we cant decide once character by these .The persons character is judged only by the way of behaving, intracting and politeness. So i dnt think losing virgnity before marriage is not ah big

RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal rahul 07-24-2014 02:23 AM yeah ofcourse losing virginity before marraige is a big deal as the people are not sure wheather they will be living with the person in the future or not.in some people it could also become a drug as they will be getting used to it so they should avoid this to be done as it could hamper their future life.if the partners could'nt get married then it could also lead to problem further in their future as they could'nt get completely comfortable with the other person after their marraige. so in view this should be avoided by people so as to get a proper future RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal

RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal DIbyesh Das 07-24-2014 12:18 PM Loosing virginity before marriage cant b d parameter in evaluating the character of a girl, that is true. But, as far as INDIA's culture is concerned, Girls sud be careful towards their virginity cos once it is gone means gone for the rest of her life. IN INDIA, our men r possessive by nature unlike the developed countries. So here girl's virginity becomes a sensitive matter. So now it comes to on which circumstances a girl loses her virginity. Okay, girls don't reveal these secret things, bt the girl her self knows the truth. so they sud not do it just for fun or to experience d unknown. Even their parents wont b happy with these decisions. So I think it is a big deal. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal chenna 07-24-2014 02:14 PM losing virginity is a big deal because when a person married a girl he worried about whether she is virgin r not ,same expectation is from her side so losing virginity is important for both male and female . now a days most younger generation are interested have a sex with their partners before the marriage if boy is not a virgin then it is not a problem but if a girl is not a virgin everyone in the world think that her character is bad exceptional in some cases . (rape, widow, sexual harasement ).so my advice is please dont loose virginity before marriage.if ur not virgin u should except the same from ur partner. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal neeraj agarwal 08-20-2014 12:28 PM once boy and girl fall in love than they attracted to each other and it happens sometime that it lead to physical relationship but due to some circumstances or resulted of ditch for either side it resulted in break up so it doesn't matter much whether some one is virgin or not matters is whether he or she is fair with other after marriage or not in short "present' matters not past that resulted in losing virginity. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal Abhishek 08-22-2014 03:51 PM In our country virginity certificate is only bounded by women, which is should not be acceptable at all. Girls are not the one who got intimated towards boys, rather males are also equally responsible for this. Then why should girls being accused all the time for this? People of our country have to change their view on this.

RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal Jeet 08-25-2014 11:33 AM hi..... @Sunil ; am completely agree with your idea. I don't think losing virginity before marriage is big deal. As we all know generally nobody really wants to lose it. But you know It happens due to some closeness with the partner. You can take an example for your colleague and also your life. You can see maximum your friend including yourself fell in love with someone. And now a days its very common sex in love and its very less in number among them who are getting married. Its very hard to believe but true . My friend @DIbyesh I don't think am agree with your idea. Let me tell you I have seen so many guys who had sex with their X-gf but they always expect their wife must be virgin.I don't understand the mentality of such people till yet ,how can they expect such things from others , you know Its unbelievable. May be you have heard a line .. "Aap kare to raas lila aur hum kare to character dhila ." One more thing my friends as you told in country like India, it shouldn't be allowed but my dear friend you are that person who is living in this country. So according to me we should not bother that much about virginity or not. We should change our mentality and trust our partner and accept the fact that it was past and accept the way they are in the past. Enjoy the life. THanks ~ RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal prithwiraj 08-26-2014 09:25 AM I have read the opinions of all of above but still i say that it is a big deal. Off-course if we suppose for a minute its not a big thing or precious thing for peoples than what about the teenagers they only loose it for their entertainment specially girls they do these all and all for their love for their trust. Is it the only thing that makes trust on love partners. They only thinks that its like a game but i will say that its not like so. If anyone can use these all for their entertainment or making trust for their partner then off course their is no difference between a prostitute and these type of peoples. What about the prostitutes why peoples saw them as a garbage of the environment or our locality. Its always a big deal and it defines the character of the personality and it preserves relationship after marriage otherwise sometimes it creates
  • 33. too much problems in arrange marriage life. RE: Losing Virginity Before Marriage is a big deal Ankita 08-26-2014 10:14 AM I think it is a big deal to lose virginity before marriage , but of course it does not defines the character of the person (male/female).If we like a person of course we want to have physical relationship with that person, want all of their firsts ,so one should not lose ones virginity out of curiosity and for fun. When it comes to marriage it is the trust that matters and not virginity. ##12## Politicians must a have retirement age Introduction Every profession has a retirement age, but there are a few exceptions and one of the them is surely politics. There is a reason for having retirement age in every profession - after a certain age ones efficiency is considered to reduce and it is time for him/her to retire from work & enjoy the remaining life in peace. It is also essential as young need employments and one of the ways to provide for this is by filling in the vacancies due to retirement. But when it comes to the rule makers, no retirement age seems to apply. A recent suggestion by a senior congress party leader Janardhan Dwivedi that politicians must retire from active politics post age 70 has started a debate. So, what do you think? Should there be a retirement age in politics as well like any other profession? For - We need young people to take up senior positions in political arena, which is only possible when elders leave active participation in politics. - Politicians are also human beings, and after a certain age they are also prone to age related issues and thus for the same reason as there is a retirement age in other employment there should be one for politicians - Whilst senior politicians would have valuable knowledge & experience, generally they have a more conventional approach which acts as a barrier to new thoughts & ideas - Ideally, the retirement age should not be set very high i.e 70 but should be more in line with retirement age set for other employment (age 60), and where a politician is considered as a valuable mentor he/she could be involved as a consultant but not put directly in power. - We have seen enough family dynasty in Indian politics and do not need any individual to hold power until the next kin is ready to take up the position.
  • 34. - Having a set retirement age for politicians would also ensure that a person knows that his reign of power would end at a definite point of time and he may have to answer for any misappropriation sooner rather than later. Against - Politicians are representatives of the public, and assume public office. In reality they are public servants in service as long as the public considers them as suitable. - If the public does not think they are suitable to perform required duties due to their age, then they would not elect them as their representative in rajya/lok sabha elections - Over the years, politician acquire great knowledge & experience, which can‘t be easily replaced - Politicians also play an important role in maintaining diplomatic relationships which may be impacted by their retirement, and their successor may not be as successful - Younger people in the party who lack legislative & administrative experience would need hand holding & direction, this would be difficult without the knowledge & experience of veteran politicians. - Loosing senior politicians may also impact on public acceptability of the political party, as there is a element of individual trust and goodwill involved. Conclusion Senior politicians have a wealth of knowledge & experience, which is essential for the role but in order to ensure that one does not remain in seat of power indefinitely & young people are able to take key positions in political arena, thus contribution fresh ideas and new perspective, it is essential that politicians also retire at a predetermined age. RE: Politicians must a have retirement age Vishal Vishwanathan 09-1-2014 12:30 PM Like every government job, there has to be a retirement age for politicians. After certain age efficiency will decrease gradually, its a common factor. They should move out for providing opportunity for youngsters. This things are followed in every organization, why not in politics. The main reason why politicians are not ready to move out of active politics is their greed towards politics and there may be few who are corrupted. They are always able to influence the administration of the state in every age. This cannot be offered by other jobs. The aged politicians can move out of politics like contesting in elections, their experience can be utilized by the political party to guide the party in the right direction. RE: Politicians must a have retirement age Rahul pandey 09-1-2014 11:43 PM The legacy and profound knowledge of the elder politicians cannot be denied.but on the other hand the vigour, mental activeness, participation in active politics goes hard for them.accordingly they must be given a back seat to advice and mentor the young naives and contribute indirectly in politics.as we cannot afford to loose the granular ideas and term them listless in any case.
  • 35. RE: Politicians must a have retirement age Teena Bhatia 09-2-2014 01:03 PM There is one bitter truth about politics in democracy, and it is that the citizens of nation have the power to determine who will rule the nation. The politicians should have a retirement age is an irrelevant discussion until and unless the citizens demand it. In fact, till this time, there has never been a major issue connected with the retirement age of politicians. Moreover, the selection of politicians depends on two important factors: • Experience and expertise: It is said old is gold, and the adage stands completely true in politics. Experienced politicians are an asset to the nation who has got the knowledge and expertise to solve the greatest of problems. Let us take the example of Mahatma Gandhi. He was not a politician but he fought for his country and got the freedom when he has crossed the so called age limit of retirement. Also, we should consider the progress of Kerala which has got some of the oldest legislators and is still doing better than other states. • Character: The next important factor that should determine the tenure of politicians is the character. A strong character politician with no corruption record cannot be removed from the system. Such politicians are an asset to the country and age cannot stop them from working for the nation. ##13## increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – to gain knowledge or a lust for fame and money? Introduction The Television industry is currently featuring the Season 8 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. There were many other programmes on the same lines which were presented on various channels, but this very first one has stolen the hearts of the millions of Indians. The charm of Amitabh Bachchan had captivated the people of all age groups. No other similar programme could match or patch up to compete the level of this game show. This game has knowledge, entertainment, rewards and more importantly the chance of getting famous and meeting the millennium star. Though there are a lot many reasons for this show getting back every year reaching up till Season 8, what could be the actual reason of the increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – to gain knowledge or a lust for fame and money? Knowledge - The programme has a rich collection of questions which definitely increases the intelligence. - Majority of the audience being the once sitting at their home to pass their time only have motive to gain knowledge while wtching this programme every day. -The show has a bizzare collection of questions which covers the people of different intellectual levels. - The knowledge and talent of the host is the key reason to keep up the viewer strength. • 36. rating of this programme is maintained at the best level due to the knowledgeable presentation by the Millennium Star. - The programme not only covers the ones sitting at the arena, but keeps the audience at the theatre, the near and dear ones of the participants and the audience at home into the loop with an alertness. They have the questionnaire for everyone to participate and be a part of the programme. Fame and Money - It is more importantly the money, the cash prize that attracts people towards this programme. Winning a crore by answering a mere set of few questions could be a golden opportunity. - The next most captivating point being the host himself, Amitabh Bachchan, the millenium star. Many people participate just to see and converse with a star of great repute. - The knowledge that the anchor shares is all the learnt for the show and nothing is real in the show. - A person gets famous in his circle just by getting to the ‗hot seat‘. - The audience at home are also given the chance to win the rewards by answering the questions. Hence they get glued up to the programme just in the lure for money. Conclusion Kaun Banega Crorepati, the title itself re-iterates "the game of money". The present generation is more towards gaining easy money rather than looking out to shape their intellect. The programme not only provides general awareness but also tests the presence of mind of the individual into action. The people definitely are more attracted towards money, though we cannot categorise everyone under single head. The tendency and aptitude to gain knowledge is equally found among the people sitting in front of the television every day. RE: Increased popularity for Kaun Banega Crorepati – knowledge or money? Teena Bhatia 09-5-2014 03:55 AM There is no doubt that all the seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati have generated a huge success. No sequels of other shows have received such great heights every time with every season. And again the show is back to recreate the magic on television fans. KBC gains its popularity from a number of factors. It is a game of knowledge where people earn knowledge and money through fun. It is the uniqueness of show. The show cannot be restricted in the boundaries of knowledge or money. It is much more than that. It is the platform which allows people to make their dreams come true. They have to use their knowledge to make money. So, how knowledge and money can be separated from each other? In all ways, they can be called two banks of river which are parallel to each other but still walk together to achieve its goal. Apart from knowledge and money, it is the message that show spreads make it popular. The tagline of show is 'Koi Bhi Insaan Chhota Nahin Hota'. It allows all the people from all the groups from all the races to come and become a part of show. The people from the most backward places come and ahead to use the opportunity and space. It is the magic of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Also, this season, the show has started with a new message of eliminating racism and alienation linked with the North Eastern states. The promo of Kohima made a significant impact on the viewers. So, the fact is the way it connects with

They call the person as a coward who ran away from his life. Life has its ups and downs, and some people for some or other reason commit suicide. These people get new names after their death like timid, coward, and also selfish people who committed the act without thinking of the people behind. Do you agree with the statement? Are people who commit suicide are weak and selfish? Yes • People who commit suicide loose their emotional intelligence and gets emotionally weak, and hence take the wrong step. • There are many people who are handicap or have got some physical problem. They commit suicide because they are physically weak. • In the life itself, people walk on self-suicidal path as they take drugs, they accept the defeats against their self-suicidal habits. • In life, one important thing that everyone needs is money. When people are unable to earn money for livelihood they find it better to end their life. This is again their weakness. • Leaving the family behind without even thinking about them and ending own miseries are certainly a selfish act. No • Talking of the brain, the human brain don‘t allow a person to commit suicide, but if anyone can beat that instinct and ends the life, certainly the person is not weak. • The people who commit suicide are not weak; they just lacked the required support from their family and friends and took the step. • Think about just making one cut on the body and you will feel scared but the people who opt for suicide end their life. How can they be weak as it takes courage to die? • All the people on this earth have got their own limit of tolerance and endurance to fight with the miseries, so when they have tried everything, they commit suicide. They fight till end, and fighters are not weak. • The people who commit suicide cannot be called selfish as they took the wrong step because the people in their life acted selfish and didn‘t provide support at the crucial time.
  • 38. Conclusion Human birth is a precious gift given by the God and it cannot be ended like this. In the world, there are equal shares of joys and sorrows. There are times when it will seem that it is better to end the life but then think of the other people who have got more problems than you. At that time, you will feel how many good things are you bestowed with in this life. RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish. Deepa Kaushik 07-11-2014 07:18 AM To a good extent, yes, people who commit suicide are weak and selfish. It requires great courage to survive in this bad and evil world than to die. Living circumstance is not the same for everyone, and every human is different in existence and reaction to a given situation. With such a diversity in life, it is difficult to compare and evaluate any person and his situation. The life is much more difficult to lead on rather than death. Committing suicide is an act performed in a fit or rage which provides immense energy to bear the pain of death. The pain of death is for few seconds, but the pain of life has no end. If one problem ceases, the other rises and this goes on. People require great courage to fight the life situations, lingering with it till their natural death. Also the suicidal tendency shows the selfish attitude. The one who commits suicide can get rid of the trouble at a go bearing just few minutes of pain. But he leaves behind his loved ones who dies every second with his thought and affection in mind and heart. The selfishness overpowers the healthy intellect and provide them the fit to commit suicide. Thus, it is very much correct in calling the people weak and selfish who commit suicide. RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish. Ashish Sharma 07-14-2014 04:13 PM As per my perspective way of thinking ,their are two kind of persons who tried to commit suicide attempts.1)- those who can't apologies and 2)- those who are webbed by the other this can be easily, understood by some case like the one who get raped , can't face the people due to their un- satisfied rewards and make a decision to commit suicide. World make them into such a situation where there is no way out . All are responsible for one selfish life. RE: People who commit suicide are weak and selfish. mounika.R 07-17-2014 01:27 AM hai everyone, let me ask onething when we come to this world with what qualities, what talents we are born with. we had learnt everything in this world. then when a problem has come why should we fear. can,t we face the problem.no ,we can,t.because if a person gets a problem then inspite of encouraging we will discourage them. we will magnify the problem.then how can a person manages to solve the problem. without water how can a well fills.god has created us to help each other. now in this world if a person is physically handicapped we will seethem like an insect. we won't mingle with them. if a person suffers from diseases like aids we won,t consider him as a person. then what will they do. a person loves a lot to live in this life. but he commites suicide because of us. they are not cowards but we made them. i want to conclude that a runner who fails in a competition is not a failure. he has not provided with the sufficient stuff. likewise a person who commits suicide is not a coward he has not the sufficient dare to face the society. so we citizens have to support them. then INDIA WILL BE TERMED AS NO SUICIDE COUNTRY.
