6. Achnuis a very powerful organization that can be a role model to other youth development organizations. They work to contribute to the youth’s holistic development through regional and community networks. As I was browsing the website I noticed that they have an extensive network of community support systems and partners. I think that this is a very important aspect of youth organizations. In order to ensure longevity and be an effective organization one must have community support. I feel that Achnuputs the children first and strives to do whatever possible to promote positive youth development. When an organization puts the people they serve first they are empowering all who are involved. The rewards are many, not only are the youth, adults, and organization benefiting from the organization, but the community as a whole. It is important to see the big picture and how the overall work is contributing to the greater good. Achnuhas projects in many areas. They are involved in education, local development, legal defense, employment, study and research, and consulting and training. Organizations should develop the youth as a whole and make services available to tailor to each youth’s individual needs. Achnuis an example of an organization who does just so.
