6. 7 Key themes
24/04/2015 Jisc Digital Festival, 9-10 March 2015, ICC Birmingham 6
Don’t assume we are
digitally literateWe need ongoing
development
We expect the same
(or better) services as in
school…
We expect college to
provide what we need…
We expect modern learning
resources that are easy to
find and use
We want to work with
lecturers…
Ask us what we
need…
7. Recommendations
The project is producing recommendations for:
» Colleges: How can colleges undertake evaluations of learners’
use of technology? How can colleges engage learners in the
process?What support is needed nationally?
» Jisc: How can Jisc support FE managers to develop strategies
and practice in order to manage and meet learners’
expectations of the digital?
» Funders and partners:What further research is needed to
investigate learner expectations and experiences?

Your table will be allocated a set of either challenges for
colleges or solutions for colleges or for Jisc and its
partners:
1. Do you agree with these?
2. Can you prioritise the top 3?
3. Are there examples of practice you can share which
address these challenges or solutions
4. How best should Jisc disseminate these findings?
