DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Explain diagnostic procedures to thepatients before and after theprocedure.
 Practices sterile technique as necessary to prevent cross-contamination.
 Performs routine, special diagnostic procedure and assist the radiologist/ physician.
 Conduct standard radiographic examination using appropriateequipment and techniques.
 Position and transfer patients:adjust x-ray equipment to correct setting; determines proper voltage
current and desired exposure time; positions x-ray equipment at proper distance and angles to the
patients body;cones radiation beam to specified area; uses immobilization devices as required.
 Checking the quality of images thru PACS and send it to thedoctors for final interpretation.
 Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area respecting patient ability and comfort.
 Perform bedsides radiographic examination and special area ICU (Intensive Care Unit), CCU (Coronary
Care Unit) Male and Female wards, Pediatric unit and other specific place if necessary.
 Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
 Maintains X-ray files and carries out standard procedures for release of x-ray information.
 Assist in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
 Participates in the department’s quality assessment and improvement plan.
 Evaluate radiographs or image for technical quality, assuring proper identification record.
 Exercising personal safety precautions.
 Uses portable radiology equipment.
