If or if not true, how can she
prove her claim to be true???

7. Null Hypothesis (H0)
States that all things remain equal. No
phenomena is observed or there is no
relationship between what you are comparing.
Alternative Hypothesis (H1)
States the opposite of the null
hypothesis. That there was some change, or
observed relationship between what you are
comparing.

H0: Boys does not cheat more than girls.
Ha: Boys cheat more than girls

9. Lets say your friends were watching “Kadenang Ginto” of ABS-
CBN (A). Suddenly, one of your friends said that the
“Primadonnas” of GMA TV (B) is better than “Kadenang Ginto.”
In this case, you can actually you can build your hypothesis on
which show is better according to the rating you and your
friends would give to each shows. Which would mathematically
equate to the following hypothesis.
It means that the null hypothesis (H0) states that both shows have
equal average rating and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is the
opposite, meaning one show is better than the other.

10.  DepEd claims that an average(μ) number of
students in a class is 31 students in Senior
High School (2018). You want to hypothesize
that it is more than 31 students. What would
be your null(H0) and (H1) hypothesis be?
H0: μ = 31
H1: μ ≠ 31

11.  Facebook conducted a study on High school
students aged 15 – 20 years old on the usage
of their app. They found out that the average
time a student spent on Facebook is 8hrs. As
a student, you are doubtful about their claim.
If so, what would be your hypotheses?
H0: μ = 8
H1: μ ≠ 8

12.  PLDT claims that the average speed they
provide to costumers is 5 Mbps.
 “KMJS” of GMA TV (A) claims that they are a
better show than “The Voice Teens” of ABS-
CBN (B).
 DepEd claims that the average age of a
graduating student of Senior High School is
18 years old.
 Coca-cola claims that 75% of the residents (P)
of Balingasag Misamis Oriental prefers the
taste of Coca-cola than Pepsi.
