A credit manager by profession, Isaiah Opiyo has over 7 years
experience working with credit risk management within business
environment with a broad expertise in credit information sharing
mechanisms.
Prior to joining TransUnion, Isaiah worked as an SME Rating Analyst
with Metropol Credit Reference Bureau Ltd where he championed the
rollout launched a new SME Rating product which would later be ratified and approved by
Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as a rating tool for local SMEs willing to venture into the capital
market.
At TransUnion, Isaiah has initiated and successfully coordinated huge projects including;
integration of identity data (IDs) from the Ministry of State for Immigration and Registration of
Persons (IPRS) into the credit bureau database to enrich identity information. Today, this has
helped minimize inaccuracies and any risk of identity theft.
Besides, he initiated, proposed and convinced public service commission, county governments
and other government agencies to adopt and ratify CRB clearance certificate as part of
requirement for vetting those seeking constitutional jobs and public office. Today it is a
compulsory requirement for integrity clearance in government appointments. He is the brain

Isaiah has full responsibility for operational performance of all products; evaluating existing
product performance against budget, market competitors and customer expectations to ensure
products remain market relevant.
He oversees development and implementation of new solution based strategies to maximize all
business revenues. He has full responsibility for product lifecycle management, from concept
through pricing and business case to market implementation and ongoing management and
enhancements.
He is pursuing a masters degree in Project management at JKUAT having obtain a degree in
B.A (Economics & Sociology) and a professional diploma course in credit management from
Kenya School of Credit management.
