4. Back-country enthusiasts wear them in send mode when out
on the slopes. Constantly transmitting radio pings at 457 kHz.
If an Avalanche occurs and skiers are trapped under the snow.
The remaining party or rescuers switch their Avie Beacons to
send mode.
Three locating antenna give a direction the signal is coming
from the trapped person’s beacon.
Then rescuers follows the signal in a circular path and can flag
the location if they have to search for more victims

The result, A-5, still needed
development, but the bold look

softness.

17. What Materials Could
Help Emit Less?
Around 38 percent of global energy
related emissions come from building and
construction.
Traditional construction methods require
massive amounts of energy and is nearly
completely relient on fossil fuels.
We have been able to lower our emissions
every year. But, not at a fast enough rate.
Construction Emits
a Lot of Carbon.

Grass absorbs co2 while the
concrete absorbs nitrogen or
sulfur ions to be washed away
as inert salts with rain.
Pollution eating
materials
After researching many materials, I chose
to promote three common materials used
in new energy and emission saving ways.
1.3D Printed
Concrete
Large format 3D printers can
print houses out of concrete in a
matter of hours at a fraction of
the cost and waste of traditional
homes.

Early Model Explorations
The problem with making three seperate
benches, each showcasing unique materials, is
that the three feel disjointed
Instead,
I decided to unify the three materials into one
bench to simplify the design language of the
project.

27. But, how can Campers
protect themselves from
the costs of accidentally
starting one?
California
Forest fires are getting worse.
Climate Change can’t be
stopped by a product.2017 was the worst year ever recorded.
With of 9,000 fires and 50 deaths
costing $18 billion.
Then, 2018 was even more deadly,
killing 100.
The costs of setting a fire off will be in
the millions for damages and fines.

Kidde is the leading Fire

Nothing.
They lack a solid branding and

Developing how the F.E. would

still easy to grab and use.

that allows you to pull the
outer sleeve to unlock it while
branches and being tossed
around can’t open it or
accidentally pop it off.
