Europe and the centre of the aerospace sector in
Spain (AIRBUS, BOEING, BOMBARDIER and others),
comprising 65% of the sector turnover.
18 of the 25 biggest biomedical and pharmaceutical
companies in the world are present in Madrid
(72%). Madrid is home to 35% of all scientific
production in Spain.
The headquarters of all the big telecom companies
operating in Spain and nearly 50% of all IT firms are
housed in Madrid.
Madrid also has powerful clusters in the automotive
sector, the publishing industry and in renewable
energy, among others.
