Creativity: The Key
to Success
The general perception is that creativity and business do
not go hand in hand. While many think businesses are all
about moneymaking, others perceive only art and
imagination to be creativity. However, this is far from the
truth.
Creativity in business is a thought mechanism that
encourages, challenges, and enables people to pursue
new ideas and solve problems. In fact, it is creativity that
sets apart one organization from the other. Otherwise,
each company would follow the same marketing/
promotion, technical patterns, or even goods and services
they can sell with no creativity and innovation. Thus,
some businesses have been giving us fresh, incredible
concepts, while others only follow the path laid by
others.
Organizations today work in a very dynamic market
climate that demands innovation. Creativity is critical
today for companies, particularly because the demand
relies on new, groundbreaking innovations. Creativity is
what inspires imaginative concepts, changes people’s
perceptions, and unlocks the path to potential market
possibilities. This why corporate companies succeed in
the world today, raising a higher standard for the next
"huge" concept.
It is apparent that it can be helpful for all to welcome
creativity and innovation into the workplace. With
creativity, businesses open the doors for staﬀ from
various departments to work as a team, increase their

unique ideas and methodologies have led her

Into the Shoes of Dominique
Nika Dominique claims to be the Founder, Owner, and
CEO of Nika Corporate Housing and the fourth
generation Entrepreneur in the family. She started Nika
Corporate Housing after flying as a Flight Attendant on
September 11th and thus subsequently getting
furloughed.
Her company offers several different communities per
requested reservation area, and within these options it
provides 1, 2, and 3 bedroom options for guests to
choose from at different price points to review when
selecting an option.
As a director and business leader, describe a
challenge you overcame.
She started her business at a relatively young age out of
college. She genetically look young for her age, and have
received many comments unsolicited like “Young lady,
does your father know that you are here working this
late?” or “Oh, I thought Dominique was a male.” “May I
please speak to the CEO Mr. Cagle” “I need to speak to
your supervisor if you don’t let me out of this lease with
no penalties.” or “Don’t stay with THAT Corporate
Housing company, I heard that they have a day care in
there and they won’t take care of you the guest.”
She likes to study all of the President’s of the United
States and their stories of getting to that position in life;
what leadership style worked in that time period etc.
Especially she likes the quote “Nothing can stop the man
with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal;
nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental
attitude.” - Thomas Jefferson. Also, her grandfather
William E. Davis has always encouraged her to keep
going in the business world when the going gets tough.
There will be good days, and not so great days for many
reasons on either side. His stories in gaining back
accounts by good relationship foundations help me think
about the bigger picture when unexpected situations
arise. She is also a believer in lifelong learning and
usually takes either a class towards a new Masters skill
or an online course to strengthen her world view and
skills that may need updating in her business tool kit so
to speak.
Maintaining balance between your professional &
personal life?
Maintaining the balance between professional and
personal life has always been difficult for Dominique as
she has 3 children and 2 bonus step-children whom
always keep her on her toes with never a dull moment in

the Cagle Casa! She makes sure she plans scheduled
mommy daughter/son dates with each child one on one
whenever life allows her to. This provide valuable
individual undivided quality time with each child. “After
they turn 18, that rule tends not to happen though,” says
her. Her valuable workout time gives health and balance
to her body, but also to her mind as she prioritize the
things on the agenda for her day that are on her calendar.
Kids volunteering in the classrooms at school she
schedule evenly among her 3 school age children
through the year. Making sure that she sees them with
their friends at school, library, lunch, recess, sports,
competitions etc. It is her goal to make all of their
competitions, recitals, and graduations if possible.
Embracing the Technology
As she has run this company for 17+ years, her best
strength is being passionate person about her business.
This passion comes very naturally to her as a 4th
generation Entrepreneur. It’s in her blood and was a
naturally born sales person before she ever started a
business. She like working with people and informing
people about her amazing product. She regularly stay in
her furnished apartments without prior notice to her
employees as a pop inspection so to speak. But, these
visits also give her the opportunity to put herself in her
guests’ shoes so to speak when they are staying and
booking her locations. “Do I like to walk to a certain
restaurant? Do I like the softness of my towels? Do I
feel safe staying here as a working traveling woman? Is
this property pet friendly or not?” Dominique asserts.
A Glimpse into Future
“This is classiﬁed information! Just kidding, I am writing
a book right now, and it’s called Bounce Back After 40.
It’s an exciting passion of mine to help women get their
bodies back after 40. When our metabolisms start to
slow down with age, we have to try and eat new ways to
compensate without gaining extra unwanted lbs, but it is
possible to do the healthy way I promise you,” quotes
Dominique.
An Advice to Rely On
The best advice she would like to give, is to join
WBENC or WPO if one is a woman emerging business
leader. If they are a male, join another CEO type support
group like Eliances or YPO. There are other options out
there as well, but these groups are made for
entrepreneurial support because it does get lonely at the
top for sure no matter the size of your revenues. Also, the
support helps you be a better business leader, and many
of these groups invest in these members with helpful
content by local or national or international business
leaders. Also she states, they help you have opportunities
with legitimate exposure for your company with Pitch
days and corporate contacts you would not typically
have access to if you just walked in the door to some of
these large locations of Fortune 500 companies.

InterWeave started life with a very large
Enterprise Customer, ACS of Dallas. The
team had built the Integration Engine for
that marketplace; a SaaS, IaaS Integration
Service, consisting of three components;
the InterWeave Integration Platform, the
Integration Manager and the Interactive
Development Environment.
Below are the highlights of the interview
conducted between Insights Success and
Bruce Magown:
Give a brief overview of your
background and your role in the
company.
Bruce Magown is the Founder and CEO of
Integration Technologies, Inc. (dba)
InterWeave Smart Solutions. Bruce also
served as the Chief Executive Officer,
President, Board Member and Investor in
SecurDigital, Inc., the company that
developed SecurVoice, the voice, data and
video encryption solution designed to pass
FIPS 140-2 certification. In 2000, he served
as the Chief Operating Officer, Chief
Financial Officer, head of the Audit
Committee, Investor and Board member of
the Uncommon Media Group, LLC.
Additionally, Bruce also served as
President and Chief Operations Officer of
Knoa Corp., a privately held company
focusing on interactive and media rich
solutions. Bruce worked with some great
people as Vice President of Professional
Services for Netscape representing Canada,
United States East Coast and Latin
America. Prior to this, Bruce was an AVP
of Lehman Brothers, and served as the
Chief Executive Officer of Information
Engineering, Inc., an e-business solution
provider.
How do you diversify your
organization’s offerings to entice the
target audience?
When we met Salesforce in 2003. we were
introduced to a new technology delivery
platform, SaaS; this changed things. We
had spent the three years prior focused on
building and extending the Integration
Engine for large Enterprise Companies, but
the journey to a SaaS, Hosted Solution
began in earnest prior to becoming an
Integration Partner with Salesforce in 2006.
It took three years to retool and rebuild our
Software into a SaaS Solution residing at
our long-term ISP, Rackspace Managed
Hosting. As we built our Solutions to
integrate with the Salesforce environment,
we would port them to our other CRM
Partners like Creatio, OROCRM,
SugarCRM, SuiteCRM, and others.
Although the technology foundation of the
company was solid, we needed a change in
the business model, which is now in place.
A SaaS company distinguishes itself by
having leading edge Solutions, supported
by incredible Customer Service. Given
those two building blocks, InterWeave
added the third: provide Solutions that
allow the Customer to define their
workflow and business process
dynamically, in a configurable way. These
distinctive factors distinguish InterWeave
from all others.
What people, what books, what life
factors have influenced and impacted
you?
The people I had the good fortune to work
with Lehman Brothers, Shearson Lehman,
Netscape and the people at Salesforce; all
key influencers in my life. When starting
my own company, its these people and
these experiences that shaped how I

approach a problem, debate issues and craft solutions. You decide
to build yourself into the person you want to be. Relentless
research, intellectual exploration, tenacious curiosity and
downright stubbornness will allow you to push through the
everyday noise to achieve what you set out to do, step by step.
What is your vision for the company for the next five years?
InterWeave is a leading provider of Intelligent Cloud Integration
for SaaS Companies. We focus on three integration tenants:
Financial Services Solutions, Payment Processors and Multi-
Cloud integrations in a simple, configurable way. SaaS, SMB and
Enterprise Customers manage their customer interactions with
system specific business processes and workflow to provide an
extraordinary customer experience.
The team of InterWeave are skilled professionals who are
motivated in their personal life. InterWeave is blessed to have a
great team that is centric to supporting InterWeave Customers. The
hard work that the team puts in everyday, keeps their clients and
customers happy. InterWeave is establishing a Canadian
Corporation, to better serve their Canadian Customers and are
looking to do the same in the UK. InterWeave is extending their
Integrations with Salesforce Lightening Solutions and is very
focused on extending the Sage Integration line. InterWeave is
looking forward to continued porting of its Solutions to its other
CRM Partners and our business footprint continentally.
InterWeave is a well-established company today with a rock-solid
foundation. With the completion of rebranding and relaunching
(The SmartIntegration Platform for CRM), expanding the business
is now our key focus.
How do you maintain balance between your professional &
personal life?
“For me, balance between professional and personal life is always
a challenge. Family is what keeps it all together. You can go
outside of yourself and focus on others.” Trying to be all is not a
sound approach. Select carefully, execute well and satisfaction
will arrive. And, making time for unknown adventures is key.
How do you sustain your creative leadership spirit in this
changing technological era?
Listen to your clients and never stop your research. InterWeave
operates a client focused approach to ensure that they are all
treated to the highest possible standards of client service and
support. The team is required to treat clients as they would like to
be treated themselves, as InterWeave understands that its clients
are the driving force behind the success of the company. When
you do this, client requests will abound and assist you in continued
extension of our existing Solutions and creation of new ones.
What advice would you like to give to the emerging business
leaders?
1. Never stop learning. It is the joy of your life.
2. Never stop taking care of your people.
3. Never be afraid to compromise.
4. Civility is not an option.
5. Mentors have value. Seek them out and you will be rewarded.
6. Cultivate interest other than work. Embrace the arts.
7. Embrace diversity. You have a lot to learn.

Iwe have are being considered as a reliable resource
moving into the future. Nowadays everything and
anything can be accessed over the internet. More and more
data is created every day and has to be stored somewhere to
which Cloud Computing is an answer. Cloud computing is a
term that is used for anything that involves hosting services
over the internet.
Cloud computing plays an integral part in many sectors
including financial, health services, businesses and more. A
cloud can be private or public. A public cloud sells services
to everyone on the internet. A private cloud is a data center
that provides services to a limited number of people. The
main motive of cloud computing is to provide easy, scalable
access to computing resources and IT services.
A Step Into Future
The wide-spreading in the use of cloud computing has been
directing its potential towards transforming everything from
product strategy to customer relationships to overall office
culture. Cloud computing will change the future in
unimaginable ways. Cloud has been drawing more diverse
data sources utilizing faster network speeds resulting in
powerful analytics at a lower cost than any technology has
seen before. This is leading to create new possibilities for
cloud computing including new kinds of product creation,
new partnerships and new ways of working.
As changing with time is a necessity, business leaders
across the world have to navigate the changing business
world with cloud computing. Leading companies must
strive for a more elevated view as they embark on their
business transformation journey.
Cloud computing has always provided beneficiary services
on demand which has resulted in improved teamwork and
empowerment at a lower cost than traditional ways. The
value of technology depends on its cost consumption,
performance and on-time innovation, the future of business
will depend on realizing the vow of cloud computing.
Effective Work through Cloud Computing
As we know already, at its best cloud computing enables
businesses to focus on performance directly with minimum
interruption. Improvising on the foundation of cloud
computing – agility, mobility, flexibility and security, the
sole aim is to get computation the way you want it. In data
collection and analysis, moreover, data now feeds into the
existing machine learning system for continuous learning
and adjustment. Getting along with this faster improvising
technology new ways of working comes handy to maintain
a continuous flow. Security is not linear based on static
events, but rather an ongoing continuous practice.
Analyzing data is faster, but it has to continuous and
iterative.
Cloud is mainly used to reduce the time of market
applications that need to scale dynamically. Developers are
drawn to the cloud due to advanced new services that can
be offered into applications, from machine learning to the
internet of things (IoT) connectivity. Cloud-based tools
often lead to more systematic changes and help in the
digital transformation of a company. Looking ahead, if used
correctly cloud computing can initiate a new IT model
focused on interoperability, standardization, and openness.

Building The Future
Cloud’s ability to store and analyze data can help provide
the digital infrastructure of tomorrow's cities. From drones
to flying taxis, farms to power plants all will safer and
managed better. Small business provide data analytics,
artificial intelligence will have capabilities to become more
than just a service because each industry has different
needs. Sectors like aviation, banking, electric power plants
will be more beneficial as a cloud can manage efficiency,
security, and assurance.
The cloud can further enhance technology like artificial
intelligence and help them to adapt to various platforms.
The automation industry which is now is highly capable to
build driver-less cars will have usage of artificial
intelligence with the data provided by the cloud to calculate
the distance, mapping the environment and to be in sync
with other self-driven cars.
The distant future looks promising with the helping hand
from cloud computing, it will promote innovations, ideas
and never before seen technologies. Constantly improving
on the previous ones and making a better life for us all.

Helping Farmers Implement Strategic
Irrigation Management
With the focus on helping farmers implement
strategic irrigation management GroGuru
came into existence. The organization measures
things like soil moisture, temperature, and salinity at
various root depth of crops by deploying soil sensors.
GroGuru wirelessly transmits this data to the Cloud where
it adds additional information to make AI-based
recommendations to farmers about when and how much to
irrigate their crops. GroGuru's recommendation engine
accounts for the data that it gets from the soil sensors, but
also crop type, weather, soil type, and additional data.
As the CEO and President of GroGuru, Patrick Henry
drives the overall strategy and operational execution for an
exciting AgTech company that will change the way that
farmers grow crops by using an innovative IoT system for
precision irrigation and soil monitoring and management.
In an interview with Insights Success, Patrick has shared
key insights of the company and his journey as a serial
entrepreneur.
Below are the highlights of the interview between Patrick
and Insights Success;
Describe your background and what did you do before
you started or came into this business?
I am a serial entrepreneur that has run four tech startup
companies, including GroGuru. I have had multiple exits
including an IPO that lead to a $1 billion valuation. I have
an engineering undergrad and an MBA. I've worked in
technology my whole career.
What is your role in the company?
I am the president and CEO of GroGuru. In this role, there
are many hats, especially in a startup: chief salesperson,
chief operating officer, chief fundraiser, chief recruiter, and
chief cheerleader. We are an innovative agriculture
technology company focused on strategic irrigation
management. We help farmers make more money by
increasing crop yield and more efficiently using water and
other scarce resources in a sustainable way.
What people, what books, what life factors have
influenced and impacted you?

I've had a number of excellent mentors in my career that
have really helped to shape and guide my career path. Some
of my favourite business books include: The Innovator's
Dilemma, Crossing the Chasm, Built to Last, Competitive
Strategy, Strategic Selling, and Good to Great, to name a
few. I've always been very goal and achievement oriented,
and my parents were very supportive of my pursuits. I also
love personal development books like Earl Nightingale's
Lead the Field and Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich.
What is the operating philosophy and cutting-edge
solutions/services that the company has been built on?
GroGuru has developed an innovative and now patented
technology called the Wireless Underground System, or
WUGS, that can communicate through several feet of rock,
soil, concrete, etc. This technology enables the permanent
installation even in annual field crops. We then apply
machine learning to this proprietary data stream and make
recommendations to farmers about when and how much to
irrigate through a simple, intuitive, farmer-friendly user
interface.
What is your vision for the company for the next five
years?
I think we can grow to be the leader in irrigation monitoring
and management for commercial farmers in the US and
worldwide.
According to you, which upcoming/current technology is
going to be a disruptive force in a near future?
Other than GroGuru, I think genetic code and genetic
editing solutions are going to experience explosive growth
and tons of innovation. Also, anything to do with improving
soil health and carbon sequestration.
As a CEO/leader, describe a challenge you overcame.
There have been many challenges I've had to overcome in
my career. In my experience, adversity is where leadership
is tested and proven. I think persistence with patience and a
cool head during times of great uncertainty, ambiguity and
stress is essential for leadership. In my career, I've had a
failed IPO that we turned around and made successful, I've
navigated a company through the great recession, and at
GroGuru we've had to raise money and build a company in
an incredibly difficult funding environment.
How do you sustain your entrepreneurial/leadership
spirit in this changing technological era?
I actually wrote a book about this called PLAN COMMIT
WIN: 90 Days to Creating a Fundable Startup. I think one
of the most important things as a startup leader is to never
give up. Don't quit before the miracle happens. And stay

positive. This is not to say you should be Pollyanna, but
don't give up just because things get hard. Have a plan,
adjust as appropriate, and have a commitment to win!
What advice would you like to give to the emerging
business leaders?
Get a mentor. Have advisors and mentors in your life that
are further down the path that you are pursuing. Be open
minded and willing to listen and learn. Get the data then
trust your gut.

Creating Platforms for Emerging Technologies
According to Pinaki, the vision is to combine strategic
foresight with the transformative impact of emerging
technologies in order to inform strategic decision making in
a unique and powerful way. The team in the company is
creating platforms for emerging technologies so that
developers or organisations can create solutions for real
world challenges of societies and organizations, and
contributing to make a technology more transparent which
will help people to make a strong bond with each other.
These emerging technologies are AI Thinking - Autonomous

mantra of Tarek Mohamed, CEO of Sharetheload, who
believes that integrity, being authentic, being accountable,
self-confidence, and communication are the vital attributes
of a leader. As the CEO, he ensures the directions are being
met accordingly and if not he ensures it does. The team has
regular meetings to ensure projected outcomes are being
met and mitigating any issues they may face.
As an all-rounder with ten years of employment experience,
Tarek has gained invaluable skills and experience that has
been inestimable to many successful companies. Having
studied and excelled in Economics, his background in
Finance through education as well as personal self-
education has allowed him to positively contribute in roles
specialising but not limited to Australian Equities.
Additionally, as a visionary entrepreneur, Tarek has been
able to self-learn web development. Moreover, as a method
of bootstrapping, he created multiple failures such as

respectively to help him fund his major project which was
not a success. Also given his social work/youth work
background, the experience has been pivotal in
understanding and communicating well with others in order
to achieve a positive desired outcome. This skill has been
carried forward across the diverse roles he has been
involved in. After founding 'Sharetheload', Tarek has been
implementing strategies to make sure that the company is
moving towards the right direction of launch. Moreover, his
role in the company entails corporate structure, corporate
legality, partnerships etc.
According to Tarek, Sharetheload is built on being different
to the other major competitors out there. These all stem
from personal frustrations as consumers. The company
offers RFID tagging, facial recognition, barcode reading
which no logistic offers as a whole. In addition, it has
entered a world-wide partnership which has allowed it to
enter new markets, never seen before. It's corporate split;
the split is 80 (corporate):20 (users). This covers all the
expenses and ensures users are satisfied with the service
and thus remunerated correctly via positive worldwide
connections.
An Idea of Betterment
Tarek says, growing up with migrant born parents, he has
seen first-hand the trials and tribulations that they must go
through to get items from overseas family members. Fast
forward today, he likes to purchase items on various sites

and would frequently get frustrated with the delay in
waiting time. One day, Tarek ordered an express parcel
from the United States which was delayed by 3 weeks and
thus he came up with the idea. It hurt him as he paid more
for the delivery then the actual item. Thus, it made him
explore ways of delivery in the last mile and innovative
methods.
Determined and Disciplined
Growing up as a first generation Australian, Tarek's parents
migrated here to give his family a greater opportunity than
Egypt. He has always been raised to take education
seriously and never take life for granted. He asserts
“Growing up, I could see my parents struggle and I said to
myself I'll make a change. I also played a lot of sports
including Soccer which taught me to be a team player
whilst also to perfect my craft. Putting in tireless hours has
disciplined positive habits that translate over to my
business world.” He often read non- fiction based
information across medical, technology and economic
factors. Moreover, his life has determined the directions he
takes in his life and thus any influences are made
accordingly.
Vision to be Get Global
Tarek's vision for the company is quite simple. He only
hopes to see 'positive connections' across humanity and the
world. Sharetheload hopes to see its users grow and giving
consumers better options that are more affordable across the
globe. To reach the company's potential customers, it has a
dedicated team with an extensive background in advertising
and promotion. It advertises using some of the biggest
platforms in the world including but not limited to social
media and flyers.
Challenging Status Quo
Over the course of Tarek's journey, one of the most
challenging roadblocks he has come across is Finances. He
challenges the status quo or the conventional methods of
capital-raising. He often goes with an IOU basis with many
partners and ensures they trust him enough to know he will
have his words backed up with actions. This is based off his
great track record with smaller projects that have led to
great outcomes which has led him to be able to build more.
Change is Constant
Change is a necessary process for progress. With such a
dynamic technological era, Tarek sustains leadership by
looking at people and understanding technology to the
highest degree by studying in micro detail. He tries and
understand everything all technological advancements from
Robots, Microchips, Hacking etc.
